‘Didn’t Believe People Like This Existed’: Mom Finds Out Coworker’s Gift Is Below $50 Spending Limit, Asks For More
Some people like giving, others are all about receiving, but can you guess which category does this woman belong to? I’ll give you a hint: she looked up the price of the Christmas gift she received from her co-worker and bullied them into buying her a $120 tablet because it was $20 below the spending limit. And she used her children as leverage to do so. Not sure yet? Or maybe you can’t believe that people get that greedy during the holiday season? Either way, scroll down and take a look for yourself! People thought this conversation was very, very ridiculous
I refuse to believe that his conversation is real. I also refuse to believe there are people like this one out there.
The thing that makes it seem fake is the response offering to give the person another $20 rather than a throat punch.
Load More Replies...Never look up how much the gifts you are given to costs (unless you want to resell it or something). Really, it's a very simple rule. The conversation could and maybe should have ended right after he found out she broke that rule and went looking it up and adding it behind his back (she could have just asked if it's that important to her). But he offered to add to it which would be fair to do and she should have been grateful for but instead she then asked for much more and things escalated quickly. You give someone an inch and they'll take a mile.
There’s the old saying, “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth,” for a reason.
Load More Replies...even $30 on a co-worker you don't usually interact with is a bit much why is secret santa so expensive over there what i'm used to is usually as a little joke/small tradition and doesn't exceed 10E
Don’t forget, the pound is, and always has been, stronger than the dollar. For a gift that’s $50US, you only need £38.92GBP. But you’re right, I would never participate in a work Secret Santa that was more than $25. Even when the adults in my family looked over it rationally, it made sense to pick name from a hat, and the most you were supposed to spend was $40. But I promise I could justify my overage, since it was a safety issue for a 5 year old!! Plus, I make the least amount of money, so if I want to go over, that’s my problem.
Load More Replies...I see this in the Military a lot. People with high rank and no children are seem like they have all the money in the world and we should pay more or give more to those that have children. Is sad that they do not see how wrong it is to conduct yourself like that, even worst that their kids will grow up with the same negative mentality.
I'm afraid that her kids will grow up to be just like her. These people should really go see poverty face to face, volunteer for a charity, the only way to open their eyes.
A $50 limit is a LIMIT. The gift can cost from .99c to $49.99, you don't top it up with cash. I bet she thought she did nothing wrong, using all of that sweet talking, oh thanks, I appreciate it.
Exactly! He did not have to spend exactly $50. It was nice of him to even offer money.
Load More Replies...Is this for real? Jesus! My mother taught me to say "thanks" when a gift was given. NO matter if it was ugly or I didn´t like it. "You just say thank you, smile and that´s all. The other person maybe made an extra effort at buying this to you, so that´s what you have to say it for". Those were her words,
I think I would be showing that to HR... would you want someone like that working at or for your business?
Well, if they have a collections department or if they work for any of the charities that have been calling my house lately, she’d fit in just freakin fine!!
Load More Replies...He's an engineer. I'm sure he knows how to build a robot to replace that woman. Let's all cheer for this engineer!
Or he could make her a sextoy so she can go f**k herself. Thats what i would do 😂😂
Load More Replies...I thought the spending limit in these things was a maximum; not the amount you were supposed to spend.
I just admire how calm and polite this person keeps during the conversation. After the second sentence I would have probably told her to insert her present "up her wazoo". Having said this, I think that's part of the problem. There is a saying in my language (Spanish) that says: it's not the pig's fault, but the person's who feeds it. I don't know if my translation makes sense... What I mean is: why are people giving so much attention to these idiots? They are getting all the attention in the world, and a lot of undeserved politeness. In the end, she also got an extra present of $20. As I see it, she was rewarded for being an a*****e.
I think the queen of stupidity in the last couple days on here was the Mom that missed “CATNIP FLAVORED” and “FOR CATS ONLY, NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION!!” on the package of the advent calander.

How did she know who gave it to her ? That is the whole point of secret Santa
All the Secert Santas I’ve participated in, you give the gift straight to the person. It’s just suspenseful up to gift time.

"You are an engineer, you don't even have kids.." "You are no engineer and you are a horrorble rolemodel for your kids" 2nd player wins -
This is the 2nd 'I have kids, gimme!' article I've read. What is up with people thinking they'r entitled to other people's money because they have kids? I hope that horrible woman sees article and properly shamed. And I definitely would have gone to HR about that.
She apparently doesn't understand that when someone says "limit", that is typically the upper limit, not the lower limit. Totally doesn't apply when we're talking about speed limits, though...........you better be doing at least 5 over or I'm gonna be attached to your bumper, honking my horn and throwing my hands in the air and waving them around as if there were no repercussions.
Um, it's exactly the same with speed limits, you're not supposed to go over it, but going below itis fine. It's beyond me where this mentality comes from. Only highways have a lower speed limit.
Load More Replies...The giver should ask for the blanket and chocolates back.

According to the urban dictionary "up your wazoo" means "a lot". "Wazoo" also means "a**e". It's good to learn something new. I don't think it's a word I can use in polite company, though.

Bored Panda's, could you please stop posting stories about nutcases who think that they are entitled to get things for free because of some absurd and illogical train of thoughts? Thank you.
Don't open the article if you don't like. Talk about entitled...

I wish I could believe they aren't, but unfortunately there are a lot of people with this kind of mentality.
Load More Replies...same thing happen to me this year...i got told by the lady I'm buying a gift for what she wants. (and she said whatever I got her - I must just give back!) no big deal...makes my life easier (only because I haven't gotten her anything yet - so nothing to "give back") I got her what she asked for & then she came to me & asked if I'm going to buy her anything else with the "change" left over from the gift. (budget was R 150, gift was R 80)....the f*****g audacity!!! I did end up buying her something else as well (just who I am)
Good lord, so self-centred! There should be no need to break the bank to make someone happy. When a wedding guest asked me what my gift registry was for, I said it listed what the bride and groom would want and added “That way, if one item is too expensive, they can look for a cheaper one on the list.”
what an ungrateful person my gosh it is limited to 50.00 dont go over under is fine, and anyway she could have got the blanket elsewhere and it was a bit more, what a cow, then wanted a 120 00 phone what a lot of c**p, post that conversation on the office notie board
I don't want to be... but... Same like I'm not racist but...
I thought it was supposed to be a secret santa.... also, wtf is wrong with her.
Seriously, who the f**k are these entitled pricks?! I almost don't want to believe this story is true... :(
"You dont have kids, you should be paying me for continuing the species" - Well, guess what? No thanks! You are not special for having children and they are your own problem. And this $50 limit is not how things work! I could get her something for $1 and she should take it.
Someone is in desperate need of a dictionary to look up the word "limit".
I frankly think that's a lot of money for a "secret Santa" exchange. I'd be ready with a few lumps of coal, for anyone with an attitude of entitlement like that woman!
Limit is 50 where does it say you have to spend 50. Lucky it wasn't 4 rolls of toilet paper from the dollar store.
Cut to me recording myself dropping the tablet off a building, repackaging it, and enclosing the video with the busted tablet. "You're right. I make SO much money I'm going to buy an unbroken one for myself."
What a horrible thing to do. This mom had better have spent $50 on her gift to her person!! Don't be an idiot mom!!
First up - it is not about the gift, but the thought of it that counts. Secondly, the giver could have just gotten a gift voucher, but instead took the trouble to find a suitable gift. I wonder what the receiver would have thought of me as I generally don't buy gifts, I make them. I bake cookies and fruitcakes - would this receiver gone to the trouble of tallying up my ingredients, skill and time spent? Not to mention electricity used by my oven?
Where is this workplace that makes you buys gifts for random co-workers and doesn't do it as a SECRET Santa? She would have emailed the whole office then and let them all know what a prat she is.
When a person complains about a gift (no matter what it costs) take it back. Then they arn’t complelled to have something they don’t want!
"what do you have to pay for?" Oh, ya know, food, medicine, bills.. etc..
I cant believe only ONE PERSON brought up the most immediate issue!!! $5 spending limit means DONT GO OVER $50!! SHEESUS!
Society is evolving into an "it's all about me" people where a person will not do anything for another if there isn't something in return. And that "something" has to fit the requirements held by the "me" person.
We did white elephant in our office and the spending limit was $15, one girl got a travel size lotion, and hand sanitizer. You could tell she was a little annoyed but she didnt saying anything. This guy possibly didnt skim on the cost on purpose but people who low ball a set gift amount suck. But this lady was out of line, I would of had some choice words for her as soon as she sent the link to the tablet.
I'm starting to think these kind of posts are forged. They are starting to appear too frequently and I can't imagine that many people are this rude
No. Then again, I don't think you're real either.
