Girl Tired Of Slut-Shaming Meme Shares How Naughty Her Great-Great Grandmother Was Back In 1890
A Tumblr user from Colorado has sent the whole Internet rolling on the floor laughing, and has challenged the message behind a popular meme with a family story that is not to be missed.
Over the last few years, memes have been popping up everywhere that show a photo of a woman seeming to be from the early 1900’s juxtaposed with a modern-day Instagram shot. The captions describe the older photo as ‘pics of your grandma that you find in 2016,’ and the latter as ones you would find 70 years from now. The point, arguably, is to demonstrate that the women of days gone by were more ‘respectable’ than those of us living today because of their supposed modesty, and that kids of the future will be ashamed to see viral photos of their grandmother in nothing but her Calvins.
If this all sounds a little backwards to you, you’re not the only one. Tumblr blogger ‘gallusrostromegalus’ shared the following anecdote about her great-grandmother’s past to prove a much-needed point, so scroll down to read it, and let us know what you think in the comments.

Every generation thinks they invented sex without considering how they came to be.
I'd love to know the awkward trying of the very first humans to have sex, or people that have been solitary isolated for years. How would they come up with that?

I found the unused Titanic tickets far more interesting than the nude photo finding! Not only they are really worht a fortune now, but it's astonishing how fate can work - a silly disease saved 4 lives from quite imminent death. They must have had the most surprised and thankful look on their faces when they saw the news and knew it could have been them there... *gulp* Quite frightening.
Measles is NOT a "silly disease". Measles kills. It causes neurological damage that can lead to deafness, blindness, and can change a happy toddler into a mental potato. Not vaccinating for measles is child abuse. NEVER forget that.
Load More Replies...Just gonna put this out there for some of you to perculate on. Her great-great-grandma may have taken the photos but what do you think the chances are she had them prominently displayed on whatever medium of her day would approximate today's internet like so many are wont to do today? Hard to s**t shame a women whose naughty pics were shared with a loved one and then hidden away from public sight for like a hundred freaking years. Just a subtle difference lots of you are kind of glossing over.
"Hard to s**t shame a women whose naughty pics were shared with a loved one and then hidden away from public sight for like a hundred freaking years. Just a subtle difference lots of you are kind of glossing over." Dude.. that's the ENTIRE point of the anecdote. Women haven't really changed over the years, we're a little more free to do as we want now. But neither should be "s**t shamed" as you put it. The girl in the second picture is no more a s**t because she's less covered than the woman in the first. Why should either woman, or the nude sending grandmother, be s**t shamed? I find it interesting that you picked that word. It's not a quote. It's a phrase you chose. If a man wants to wear nothing but briefs, stand in front of a mirror and take a picture (and there are PLENTY of those kinds of male shots).. are you going to talk about s**t shaming then too? No? Why not? Because it's a totally different standard. That's attitude is part of the problem.

Let me ask you something. Had cameras been as readily available in the Great Grandmother's day as they are right now, do you honestly not believe that they wouldn't have taken "millions of horrible selfies?" You're incredibly ignorant, Jonathan.
Load More Replies...Yea but grandma didn't post her pictures in the local news paper. Big difference. One day all these trashy self-absorbed sluts will regret there tasteless photos, or maybe not because there sluts.
Their*, They're*. I bet most of those trashy, self-absorbed sluts know the difference...
Load More Replies...My Grandpa had a nude pic of him up on the wall of friends photos around the dining room doorway at his house. It was eye level for children. My mom found my sister & I stuck in front of it, staring, trying to decipher what we were seeing. It was taken only a few years prior and he was already "old" then! lol Apparently his girlfriend put it up there not realizing the kids were coming to visit? haha oops!
Yeah, because it's definitely the same to have some photos enclosed in an envelope and have it online on your own profile, so that it's easy for your future boss to find. It's definitely the same that people did just the same things 100-500-1000 years ago behind closed doors what people do now on the streets. Like when I, that is I, who goes clubbing once every 3 years, saw some teenagers actually doing it on the dancefloor. No, it's not the same, not even close.
The difference is that the 7 pictures were for one person and had they been thrown away, no one would have known about them. The thousand modern pictures are for MILLIONS to see and can NEVER be thrown away.....and will NEVER disappear.....ever.......EVER.....
My Grandmother (I'm 60): If you get the reputation as an early riser, you can sleep til noon.
Makes me mad how people always try to slutshame women, by any means possible. This is a hilarious story.
Haha! That's awesome. When my husband grandpa passed recently, his dad found similar photos of his own mum. Turned it grandpa and grandma had a very interesting life behind the scenes. Good on 'em I say!!!
The "naughtiness" runs in this family. My own is quite the same. For instance, yesterday we looked at photos of my grandparents' wedding. There was a picture of my grandma dancing "Kyuchek"(It's quite an odd dancing style that, as far as I can remember has aTurkish origin). My grandma, people, it was so weird...
Umm 4 ORIGINAL Titanic tickets?!?! Those go for around 70k per ticket 😳
So...Her grand mother was ALSO a s**t... ...and the point is...?

I still have to ask...what is your end goal in posting pictures of yourself mostly naked on the internet? Your great-grandmother had a goal, and it seems straight-forward and between her and her fella. But you...why do you think everyone wants to see you? Do you think you're so hot that everyone MUST see? Or is it that internally, you feel like a piece of s**t and are looking for validation via social media compliments? I think you're comparing apples and helicopters here...as far as I know, Great-grandma didn't post those pictures in the local papers, but what you're doing seems to indicate extreme narcissism, or extreme lack of sense of self . Why? What's your motivation here?
I doubt GGG posted her pics in a newspaper though. These girls are posting them to the web. There is a difference.
This person has not given permission for this website to poster their material. Also, they identify as agender - they/them.
i wouldn't sell those tickets, but i would gt them insured (in case of fire, flood, etc) - they are very valuable... how many unused titanic tickets exist in the world??? - by the way, yo come from GREAT stock... so, did Hubby come back home??
Hmmmmmmmm no picture of the tickets or the photos with stuff blurred ill go ahead an say it now good story maybe you can start a religion like L Ron Hubbard did with his fiction.
Yeah and another common thing back in those days that is seldom mentioned? Couples commonly wed (so fűcked) at 14 or so. I'm not sure when it moved up so far in society age wise but it's strange when older folks act so judgemental when they know some things, umm hmm
I think the difference is that I'm not currently seeing your Grandmother's naked pics on my screen...nor is everyone else.
This is true, and I am the first one to say, HEY! Life is short! Have fun! That being said...back in the 1800s, to get attention, women would faint. They would dramatically put the back of one hand to their forehead...and swoon! (thus the "fainting couch!). Today, to get attention, young women are twerking...TWERKING!! THIS is what I have a problem with! Yeah, sexy and fun is sexy and fun, but certain things, like twerking, are just TACKY!
Same thing was said about flappers, the Charleston, Clara Bow and the like.
Load More Replies...Well, context is key here. Those kinky nudes are kin to the boudoir photos that have been popular since camera's were created. People who commission Boudoir photography are done for private viewing. Regardless of how "tasteful" the photos are. Most selfies are posted publicly for the ego's of the poster. It doesn't end or add to the argument of lame sexy selfies. Because it isn't a selfie... camera's weren't readily available to general consumers at the turn of century and this woman hired a photographer to take raunchy photos of her. Thus... boudoir photography and does not belong in the bad selfie argument.
Posing nude does not make you a s**t. Having sex with multiple partners in a relatively short period of time makes you a s**t.
Also, if being a s**t is not shameful then why are so many sluts ashamed of what they are? Be proud and don't apologize for following your instincts unless you step on someone else's toes.
Load More Replies...This is such b******t. Why are there so many made up stories on this app now I'm getting fed up now
No matter what, people are going to judge. People just judge women more. This, I highly doubt, will ever change. Since we look at pictures from 100 years ago as art we are going to look at this as art one day too. You'll just be too dead to b***h about it.
Being against s**t shaming is like being against fat shaming. We shame these people because they're making unhealthy/unwise decisions. I would never marry a woman who posts slutty s**t on the internet, keeping private lewd photos is another matter. Honestly, modesty is more attractive to anyone with romantic standards beyond "she needs to be hot."
