A now 17-year-old girl who allegedly fatally shot her mother and stepfather in Georgia in February has turned herself in to police.

It was Sarah Grace Patrick’s stepsister, then a 5-year-old, who found her parents unresponsive in their home.

In the weeks and months following the crime, and as investigators searched for clues, Patrick made a series of grieving social media videos, adding fuel to the alleged cover-up.

According to reports, Sarah Grace Patrick was 16 at the time of the alleged shooting of 41-year-old Kristin Brock and 45-year-old James Brock. Her stepsister was 5.

On the night of February 20, 2025, police say Patrick allegedly fatally shot her parents while they were in their bedroom in their house in Carrollton, Georgia.

The 5-year-old discovered her slain parents and alerted Patrick, who called 911.

Immediately following the shooting, Patrick began denying any involvement.

She posted sorrowful messages for her mother on social media and gave an impassioned memorial during their funeral.

According to media reports, during the funeral, Patrick said of her mother and stepfather: “There’s nothing we can do to bring them back, we still have control over how we treat people.”

In other posts, we see an old video of her mother in a toy store, edited together with old clips of her stepfather.

The video is captioned: “They don’t know it but a year from now, me and my five-year-old sister would find them wrongfully shot d*ad in our home and won’t get to watch me graduate high school, see me walk down the aisle and couldn’t even say goodbye.”

Patrick even allegedly contacted various true crime personalities to ask for help.

According to the True Crime Mama website, Patrick reached out in a text saying: “They’re my parents, and out of no where a random Thursday night in Feb someone came in my house with me and my 5 year old sister and shot my parents brutally leaving them for me and my little sister to wake up to.”

She continued: “I feel like it’s important to shine light on it considering it’s still a [sic] open case.”

Still other social media posts show Patrick with a mascara-stained face as she tearfully asks the public for “prayers” and a break for healing.

On Mother’s Day this year, Patrick posted pictures of herself as a young girl together with her mother with the caption “.. my ultimate inspiration comes from my best friend.”

“Mountains of evidence”: A police spokesperson said it became increasingly clear that Patrick was their suspect

During a press conference to announce Patrick’s arrest, Ashley Hulsey, a spokesperson for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia, explained that Patrick turned herself in after being made aware that there was an arrest warrant out for her.

Media reports that she was driven to the police station by her birth father.

Hulsey explained that from the moment the incident took place, everyone was a suspect.

But after several months of investigation, Hulsey said, it became clear that Patrick was the main suspect due to so much overwhelming evidence.

As the investigation continued, and everything ebbs and flows, and as I said in the press release, mountains of evidence has gotten us through here today, lots of processing, lots of work with our law enforcement partners to get us where we are today that homed in on her as the suspect,” Hulsey told reporters.

Police are looking for a motive as to why a 17-year-old would take her parents’ lives

As to a motive on why Patrick took the lives of 41-year-old Kristin Brock and 45-year-old James Brock, “We are still working with her diligently,” Hulsey said.

When asked about investigations into other family members who may have aided or abetted Patrick, she said that “everybody we talked to through the course of the investigation who are family members, have been nothing but cooperative.”

Hulsey said, “We don’t know what goes through the mind of a child who wants to harm their parents.” She continued: “She’s 17. She’s kind of been out on her own. She’s lived with different family members and moved all over the place.”

Hulsey also discussed James’ ongoing health conditions: “According to his family, he had a lot of heart trouble. I believe he may have been waiting on a heart transplant at some point,” Hulsey said.

The spokesperson said that the biggest ‘victim’ was the 6-year-old child who won’t see her parents again.

“To me, she is probably the saddest victim in all this,” said Ashley Hulsey, a spokesperson for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

Media say the 6-year-old and 17-year-old Patrick aren’t the only children in the family.

Reports from WBS TV say the couple had a blended family with a total of seven children between the two of them.

One of whom is now behind bars.

Netizens speculate about what else was going on that might have driven the teen to take her parents’ lives

Hola! I’m a Julie, a giant panda currently living in the lush green bamboo groves of Barcelona. I spend my days lounging in the shade, munching on snacks, and trying to avoid becoming an Instagram influencer. Life’s good. BP is my absolute favorite place to find funny, weird, and heartwarming stories. I especially love the animal content (have you seen the dog wearing a panda costume? 🤣 You know he didn't put that on himself! Oh humans) I might be a panda, but even I get bored sometimes—so BP to the rescue! 🐼💻✨

We don’t have enough of the facts to judge. Remember, not all parents are wonderful loving people. Some are horrible people who should never have kids, or otherwise be around children. Was the stepfather a*****e in any way towards her, and her mother did nothing to stop it? Or was it the mother who was a*****e and the stepfather didn’t step in? Were they both a*****e together? I mean, her bio dad was the one who drove her to the police station so she could turn herself in, so how does he figure in all this, if he does at all? Does she have an undiagnosed mental issue? Or a diagnosed one, and she went off her meds? She didn’t hurt her stepsister, so the stepkids evidently weren’t the focus of her anger, just the adults. Until the real facts are reported, if they ever are, we really cannot judge her. She may—-or may not—-have had a really good reason to do it.

Most people don't "snap" for no reason + eliminate people. I agree with the "there's more to this" comments. Not sure all the reasons will ever come out.

And there are the idiots with their "you can see it in her eyes". Meaning, everyone who looks sweet cannot be a serious criminal. And that's how murde-rers and rap-ists get away for so long. Just because people want to believe these fairy tales of "reading faces". Despicable. It's horrible what she did, but who knows why she did it?
