78 Photos Of Real-Life Moments That Seem Too Strange To Be True
Do you ever find yourself walking down the street, going about your day as usual, only to witness the most unhinged, bizarre thing imaginable? But of course, it happens so fast that you don’t even have time to reach for your phone and snap a picture.
Well, that happens to everyone, but some people are luckier and manage to capture these moments at just the right time. There’s even an Instagram account dedicated to sharing these perfectly timed moments, so we’ve gathered some of the funniest ones to give you your daily dose of dopamine. Here they are!

Honestly, if you came across some of these moments, you might think you’d stepped into an alternate reality, and we wouldn’t blame you. Just seeing them on a screen is enough to make us question our reality, let alone seeing them with our own eyes.
But oddly enough, not everyone notices these moments when they happen right in front of them. Cognitive research suggests people can miss even obvious, unusual events happening right in front of them, a phenomenon called "inattentional blindness." This shows how observant the photographers in this listicle truly are!
In his autobiography, Mark Twain noted that the “laws of nature take precedence of all human laws,” but that the “purpose of all human laws is one—to defeat the laws of nature.”
This is a fantastic example of how nature operates beyond the restrictions we humans try to impose on it. Just look at plants growing out of a lake in weird and unexpected ways, with no regard for human aesthetics or the need to look nice. Nature follows its own unpredictable logic, and there’s no point in fighting it, making these bizarre sights perfect subjects for a photograph.

Yes. You need to read this book. Especially those of you who live in areas in the USA where the book is banned from schools.

I'm not even a gran and my school's computer room was floppy discs and no connectivity to the outside world (well, there was JANET but the costs were eye watering so you'd be lucky to see it in the wild).

But sometimes, it’s not just nature giving us the pleasure of creating randomly hilarious images. Sometimes, it’s people — that’s right. Humans are just weird, and sometimes, it shows.
Nowadays, everything is under surveillance. There are cameras on the streets, on people’s doorbells, and on everyone’s phones. So, being weird in public comes at a cost. However, researchers say most people are becoming desensitized to surveillance. The brain normalizes it because the immediate consequences of doing something non-criminal are low, even if not everyone feels the same way.
Curiously, this constant surveillance also affects both the person on the other side of the camera and the person behind it. Psychologist Linda Henkel studied a phenomenon showing that when someone records an event with their phone camera, they retain less information than they would otherwise.
So, everyone in this thread may end up remembering fewer details than they would have if they had simply observed the events with their own eyes. Obviously, we appreciate the giggles they’ve brought us, but it’s kind of sad when you think about it.
And on an even sadder note, research shows people used to engage with public spaces more holistically, taking in their surroundings naturally and sharing what they saw with others. But now, we don’t even look at our surroundings in a broad way. We almost get tunnel vision, and experts say humans have even shifted their vision to a vertical frame because of smartphones.
But like we said, some things are just too funny to ignore. Sometimes, a cute moment can be hilarious, and of course, you might want to share it with everyone you know. With that said, which of these images was your favorite? Let us know below!

This is a demonstration of the observer effect in quantum physics. Demonstrated with the double slit experiment. Top guy is not observing, so the light travels as probability waves. The bottom one, the guy observes it, the wave function collapses, and the light behaves as a particle. A physicist can explain this better than I can. Cool graffiti though

There are things I learn in my forties that I could have learned in my teens. And there are things I learned in my teens that others waited to learn. What's important is that we keep learning, and not judge others for learning something new, that is old to you.
