Satirical Illustrations Reveal How World Leaders See Justice
Cartoonist Gunduz Agayev has no intention to stop. The cartoonist who has created several series of illustrations so far, has chosen again the theme of universal human rights and justice portraying Femida (Themis) in different countries.
“I have spent 15-16 days for this volume. I drew thinking and reading about the situations in these countries. These illustrations depict the real conditions in the countries.”
Previously he drew well-known illustration series, such as “Holy Selfie“, “Global Police” and “Just Dictators“.

Share on Facebookingenious. apart from identifying with, and taking sides, the drawings are very appropriate depictions of what's going on. the truth sucks, doesn't it.
But the thing is, everybody is too afraid of standing out, so nobody does anything
Load More Replies...I think the one about Britain is lazy and not that satirical (speaking as a Brit), which is surprising given the hard-hitting nature of the other pictures. The Queen has very little actual power other than a figurehead, so it's surprising she should be the focal point. There are just so many other options you could have gone with - inequality, nepotism, capitalist exploitation / corruption, not to mention that the British legal system was forced upon the nations of its empire in varying ways, with a huge impact even today... It feels as though the artist has nothing to say about Britain and its politics, perhaps because they just don't know that much about it, or they simply assume it's not that bad? Some of the others were incredible though.
westminster are the biggest terrorists in the world
Load More Replies...Yes and no. What's the whole 'All refugees are ISIS' thing with Germany? However, the artist is right about Russia, Azerbaijan, and Iran As an Irishman, the one for Britain is fairly ok-ish. I mean, they have moved on a great deal from the days you were guilty until proven Irish (Birmingham 6 and Guildford 4)!
Load More Replies...This is incredible. I love the symbolism and the frankness of it all.
in fact, the picture for britain should have been david cameron f*****g a disabled person wearing a pig mask, up the a**e.
you could pretty much have had the same image fro britain and the USA. britain just go cap in hand with whatever the US tells them to do
That's brilliant. Thanks for posting. (And as a French citizen, i think that the French sounds perfect)
Again this Putin-hater places Russia on top! But im glad this so called "artist" included an illustration of USA & European justice too!
"Putin-hater". I can't blame this cartoonist. I live in Chile. It's not a perfect country, but what if me and my family decided to move to Russia? My mother is one of Jehovah's Witnesses, a minoritary religious group. I am gay, and my mother does not approve of my sexual orientation. In spite of being so different, we both can live together in peace in our country. However, Jehovah's Witnesses and other religious minorities are persecuted by the authorities in many places in Russia. My mother would be called "an extremist", and would risk going to jail every day just for telling others that the teachings of the Russian Orthodox Church are wrong. And what about me? I would be bashed and taken to jail, too, if I dared to walk hand in hand with my partner publicly. Well, I guess repression against anybody who thinks or acts differently is in the Russian DNA. It must be the product centuries of oppresive regimes. Or is it the weather? Who knows. And Putin is not making things any better.
Load More Replies...Yeah, its racist to all the other animals that live there... how are PolarBears & Seals being represented?? ;)
Load More Replies...Spain's anodyne to the point it didn't deserve a image (I bet it would be a mix of Russia and Syria) were our deadbeat P.M. holds justice at gunpoint wile he rapes her (and on the backgrond, the Fuhrerette Merkel fapping)
Where's the Saudi Arabia version where they're hanging two men for being gay while Uncle Sam turns his back and ignores it while carrying a barrel of oil away from the public execution?
1) Disturbing! 2) The Queen has nothing to do with with how the government is run...should be the current PM.
That one from "Iran" should have a followup, where those two men holding hands are also hanged. Iran have executed thousands of homosexuals since the revolution in '79.
Can somebody explain "Germany" to me? I actually live in Mitteleuropa, I'm quite familiar with german politics... and really don't understand what the author wanted to address.
Eh. It kind of does show our apathy... it shows us trying to justify what we do to other countries instead of fixing our own problems... because we're apathetic to the things right on our front step. I get what you're saying, I'm just suggesting another perspective of the illustration that might satisfy you better.
