Hilton subjected the Oops!... I Did It Again singer to intense mockery during her public struggles in the 2000s.

During the height of her mental breakdowns in 2007, which followed her divorce from dancer and actor Kevin Federline, Hilton called Spears an "unfit parent" to their sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

He used a photograph of Spears partying at the nightclub Les Deux to justify his commentary, which extended to calling her "the monster" who left her one- and two-year-old children behind.

He stuck to that narrative, calling her an "Unfit Mother" later the same year in the aftermath of Spears striking a paparazzo's car with an umbrella.

Hilton made Spears so central to his content that he posted several unauthorized recordings of her on his blog, prompting her label, Zomba Group, to sue him for copyright infringement.

The lawsuit, however, proved insufficient to get Hilton off Spears' back. He became even more explicit about his hostility in January 2008 by selling custom "Why Couldn't It Be Britney?" T-shirts following actor Heath Ledger's demise.

Hilton only acknowledged how cruel his behavior had been after public perception shifted in Spears' favor in 2021, following the release of the documentary Framing Britney Spears and the growing support for ending her conservatorship.

"I regret a lot or most of what I said about Britney. Thankfully, many of us get wiser," he said in February that year while appearing on Good Morning America.

In June, he told Sky News anchor Kay Burley that he reckoned he "didn't lead with empathy and compassion" when reporting on Spears.

"I absolutely apologize and carry deep shame and regret," he added.

Hilton and Gaga were close friends in the late 2000s, with the blogger frequently promoting her work on his website. She was also reportedly one of the celebrities to whom he confided about his desire to bully public figures less.

Their friendship, however, began to unravel in 2011. Gaga attributed the fallout to Hilton asking her "really terrible questions" about her relationship with then-boyfriend Taylor Kinney.

She also accused him of being "very negative" about her album Born This Way, despite her helping him launch his ITV miniseries Perez Hilton Superfan.

"He was supposed to be my friend, and I felt betrayed, so I started crying," Gaga told Howard Stern in November 2013.

Gaga accused Hilton of being "fake" in their friendship, to which he responded by asking her to "look at yourself in the mirror."

Before detailing the fallout on television, Gaga accused Hilton of attempting to stalk her by trying to rent an apartment in her New York City building.

"Stay away from me + my family," Gaga warned Hilton on X.

Hilton denied the allegations, calling her claims "false."

A photograph posted by Hilton of the Hannah Montana star sparked debate over whether it could be classified as child p**nography, given that Cyrus was 17 at the time.

The controversy dates back to June 13, 2010, when the blogger shared a link to an image of Cyrus stepping out of a car during a video shoot.

Hilton pixelated the area between Cyrus' legs, which led viewers to believe she was not wearing underwear.

Instead of apologizing, Hilton tried to argue that he never intended to imply the singer was dressed inappropriately. 

"Do you think Miley is that stupid to be out in public without p**ties?" he said.

"Sure, I like to be controversial, but I don't want to go to jail," he added.

Hilton claimed he shared the image to criticize what he described as Cyrus' "very unladylike fashion."

Cyrus addressed the controversy during a June 15, 2010, phone interview with Ryan Seacrest, dismissing Hilton as "some idiot being an idiot."

For his part, Hilton addressed the controversy again during his June 17 appearance on The Joy Behar Show. He attempted to shift the blame by arguing that Cyrus knew paparazzi were present at the location and still chose to be photographed that way.

When Behar argued that posting the image was still an invasion of privacy, Hilton replied: "It's my business."

"To this day, I still don't understand how Perez was never canceled for good," a social media user wrote. 

Hilton later described his coverage of Christina Aguilera around the release of her sixth studio album, Bionic, in 2010 as "one of the things I'm most ashamed of."

He admitted that he deliberately tried to hurt the singer professionally by giving her "all kinds of terrible nicknames."

One of those nicknames was "Floptina," suggesting that Aguilera's career was failing.

In his criticism, Hilton argued that Aguilera was imitating then-friend Gaga's sound and visual style.

He later claimed that Gaga had used him "as a tool," not only against Aguilera but against several of her perceived rivals.

Aguilera brushed off the controversy during an appearance on Andy Cohen's SiriusXM show, saying she hoped Hilton had "grown since then." She also maintained that she never took his criticism of Bionic to heart because she had faith in her work.

Jennifer Aniston remained a frequent subject of Hilton's coverage during the mid-2000s as she navigated the fallout from her divorce from Brad Pitt.

Hilton often framed Aniston's heartbreak as entertainment, repeatedly revisiting the "Team Aniston" versus "Team Jolie" debate that emerged following Pitt's highly publicized relationship with Angelina Jolie.

A turning point in Hilton's coverage of Aniston came in 2007, when he was sued by Universal City Studios Productions for copyright infringement after posting a stolen image.

"I said, 'Hi,' and he went, 'Hi.' We just stood there like two deer in headlights, and I just said, 'Come here. Just talk to me for a second.'"

According to Aniston, she asked Hilton: "Why are you so mean?"

He replied that he viewed celebrities as characters and not people.

Following the encounter, Hilton—who had already been considering toning down his coverage of celebrities—said the conversation reinforced his decision. 

He promised Aniston he would not continue writing about celebrities in the same way.

"And he's kept it up too, which is good," Aniston told DeGeneres.

Hilton dubbed Jessica Simpson "Jessica Simpleton," a nickname he repeatedly used while mocking her weight in 2009.

In one post, he fixated on her thighs, saying they resembled "cottage cheese."

When Ashlee Simpson pushed back against Hilton and other media outlets for publicly scrutinizing her sister's weight, Hilton turned his attention to her with the headline, "Asslee (his derogatory nickname for her) Comes to the Defense of Her A**."

In the post, he also mocked Ashlee's appearance, joking that she could "eat an entire six-pack of donuts."

The feud between the sisters and Hilton—particularly Jessica and Hilton—intensified in November 2009 when he dragged Ashlee's son, Bronx, into his commentary on the child's first birthday.

"Asslee pushed Bronx Mowgli through her vayjayjay a year ago," he wrote in one post, adding that the child was a "poor lil' thing" who "doesn't stand a chance."

Jessica responded: "Does Perez Hilton… whatever his name really is… have no heart at all? Don't ever attack my family again. Sad to know u hate so deeply. Sad 4 U."

Hilton later expressed regret over being "unkind to the children of celebrities" in his memoir.

"Remember when you bullied a 13-year-old for money?"

That was how Tallulah Willis, the daughter of Bruce Willis, began an October 2025 Instagram post directed at Hilton.

She said his comments about her appearance—particularly his mockery of her resemblance to her father's prominent chin—left her unable to say the word "chin" aloud for years.

Willis also revealed that the public humiliation became so overwhelming that it made her want to end her life.

The post prompted an outpouring of support, with several commenters sharing their own experiences of being targeted by Hilton.

"Hey, how about you just leave her alone? Instead of kicking someone while they're down?" the singer asked.

Hilton fired back by deflecting blame, tweeting: "The media (me) is not harming Lindsay. She is doing that to herself. She needs to take accountability."

Lovato responded by reminding him of the human cost of celebrity gossip.

"The media (not just you) don't realize when you need to stop. This isn't a headline for your readers. This is someone's life."

The exchange sparked a years-long feud between the two.

In 2016, Hilton appeared to endorse tweets about Lovato's dispute with Mariah Carey. Lovato confronted him directly.

"Liking tweets about the feud with Mariah?" she asked.

Hilton replied that he liked all tweets, including those criticizing him.

He then published screenshots of their exchange, prompting the hashtag #PerezExposedDemiParty.

Their most pointed confrontation came in March 2018, when Hilton attended one of Lovato's concerts.

Although she did not mention Hilton by name, he made it clear that he believed the remark was directed at him.

Hilton later thanked Lovato for "giving him relevance," despite her insistence that he deserved none, while she explained that she had intentionally kept him "nameless."

Their feud continues to this day.
In February, Hilton accused Lovato of lying after she canceled five shows, citing mental health issues.

Unfortunately for Mischa Barton, her career took off at the height of Hilton's influence as a celebrity blogger.

Soon after Barton rose to fame with the hit teen drama The O.C., she became one of Hilton's primary targets for body shaming.

He frequently doodled over photographs highlighting what he described as cellulite or body fat, with one of his harshest posts appearing in 2008.

"Cellulite at 23 is never pretty. Mushy's boobies and cellulite things in full glory," he wrote, while referring to the actress by the derogatory nickname "Mushy Fartone."

After carrying the trauma of his bullying for more than a decade, Barton confronted Hilton during a July 2019 episode of MTV's The Hills: New Beginnings.

"This bullying that you did for so long to so many young girls, I find it hard to let go. It's not just about the body shaming… I don't really sit well with people who purposefully harm other people," she said.

Barton stood her ground despite Hilton swearing on his children that he would do things differently if he could go back in time.

The conflict between Jennifer Lawrence and Hilton began during the 2014 celebrity photo hack, in which private images stolen from iCloud accounts were distributed online.

Lawrence was among the most prominent victims, and the incident was widely regarded as a criminal invasion of privacy rather than a conventional celebrity scandal.

On September 1, 2014, Hilton published both censored and uncensored versions of the stolen photographs before later removing the uncensored images.

"I acted in haste just to get the post up and didn't really think things through. I'm sorry," he explained soon afterward.

Hilton later removed the censored photographs as well, saying that, upon reflection, he had become uncomfortable with his decision.

In a follow-up statement, he pledged not to publish intimate photographs like that again.

Lawrence rejected the apology during a 2014 interview with Vanity Fair, arguing that Hilton removed the images only because of public backlash.

"He took it down because people got p**sed, and that's the only reason why," she said.

Lawrence stressed that being a public figure does not amount to consent to publish private images.

"It's my body, and it should be my choice."

Hilton later apologized again in another post. However, he opened the message with the words "f**k you," a decision that further angered social media users.

"Downright nasty," one user wrote. "He is awful," another added.

Hilton called Lily Allen a "washed-up" singer who was "more of a tragic train wreck than a musician" in 2008.

"She knows it too. That must hurt," he added.

Allen was quick to reject the characterization, calling his criticism unfair.

The feud escalated in 2009 when Allen labeled Hilton a "woman hater." He responded by calling her a "lazy a**" and accusing her of being a poor role model for young girls.

Hilton also criticized Allen after she bared it all for i-D magazine, prompting the singer to return his negativity.

"It may come as a surprise, but I'm completely comfortable with getting them out. T*ts are t*ts," she said, adding, "I wish mine were as big as Perez Hilton's though."

After Hilton later criticized her for selling her album on Amazon, calling the move "desperate," Allen fired back by describing him as a "bitter, lonely old queen."

Hilton's decision to go months without mocking Allen led some to believe the two had reached a truce. However, he proved them wrong by suggesting she was drunk during a June 2009 outing in London.

Allen denied the claim, explaining that she could not have been drinking because she was due to shoot a music video at 6 a.m. the following day.

Their most heated exchange came in September that year, when Hilton published a post titled "Lily Allen + Motherhood = Disaster."

He drew a coughing baby on a photograph of Allen and wrote: "Can you stick to intoxication instead of moving on to procreation?"

He also imagined Allen becoming so intoxicated that she would mistake her child's playpen for a pigpen.

Allen responded furiously.

"What an evil b**tard. I hate this man. Someone better watch themselves. And yes, that is a threat."

In 2013, Amanda Bynes embodied everything Hilton had long treated as fodder for his blog—her struggles with illicit substances, signs of psychological distress, rapidly changing appearance, and legal troubles stemming from erratic public behavior.

Hilton capitalized on the situation, calling Bynes "mentally unstable" in a March 2013 post alongside a photograph of her walking through Times Square with a blue shirt covering her face.

Bynes responded by threatening to sue Hilton over his coverage.

The following month, she called him "the s**m of the earth" while demanding that he leave her alone.

Their feud reached its most explosive point in May after Hilton commented on Bynes' arrest for allegedly throwing a bong from her apartment window. The accompanying photograph, however, was one Bynes insisted did not depict her.



"Stop living! K** yourself," she wrote in response, while accusing Hilton of hiring someone to impersonate her.

Rather than ignoring the message, Hilton reposted Bynes' comments, amplifying them further.

He then responded with another disturbing remark, suggesting that, given her behavior, she might not outlive him. He referenced the "27 Club," a term associated with musicians and celebrities who died at the age of 27, often due to accidents or s*lf-harm.

Khloé Kardashian's confrontation with Hilton became public in October 2010 after he invited her to record an "It Gets Better" video in support of young people facing bullying.

She initially hesitated because of Hilton's own reputation as a bully but ultimately agreed to participate.

However, Kardashian used the opportunity to be candid about her experience with him.

"Perez Hilton asked me himself to do this video, and he's doing such an amazing thing by getting all these celebs to speak up to people—but for me, he's been my personal bully," she said.

She explained that Hilton's promise to adopt a kinder, less bullying approach convinced her to say yes. At the same time, she acknowledged that while he could be "charming and funny" in person, his website had repeatedly described her using insults such as "tr*nny" and "fugly."

Hilton responded with a blog post titled Khloe Kardashian Got It So Wrong! Celebs Don't Want to Acknowledge This.

In the post, he argued that celebrities and gossip bloggers were part of a larger publicity ecosystem in which stars benefited from media attention while objecting when coverage turned unfavorable.

Hilton labeled Avril Lavigne a "no-talent pop star" in 2007 as he repeatedly mocked her music, clothing, and behavior on his website.

Lavigne responded by launching her own website to answer his attacks.

Called PerezLavigne.com, the site compiled Hilton's posts and videos while encouraging fans to challenge his coverage.

In one post, Lavigne wrote that Hilton believed he was "the best" because he made people look foolish, but argued:

"In reality, he is the biggest silly person I've ever seen!"

The dispute became part of Hilton's broader pattern of turning criticism of his coverage into yet another story about the celebrity involved.

Gossip websites frequently portrayed Tara Reid as a reckless party girl and a symbol of Hollywood's decline in the 2000s.

Hilton amplified that image by giving her nicknames such as "Terror" and "Trashy." One post about an apparel line she was developing even carried the headline "Hookers Rejoice."

Reid called Hilton a "bully" in 2013. This came after he alleged that her then-boyfriend Erez Eisen had been drinking during a Las Vegas outing, despite Eisen being teetotal. 

The American Pie actress pushed back against the claims in a series of posts on Twitter, writing, "My boyfriend doesn't even drink so stop saying things that are so untrue and mean… Why do u keep on saying bad things about me?!" 

In a 2021 interview, Reid reflected on Hilton's role in shaping public perception of her.

"I think he's the one that ruined my career, to be honest with you," she said.
