Dying Father Requested A Viking Funeral, And Here’s What His Daughter Did
16Kviews
It is said that sometimes Vikings “buried” their loved ones by putting their ashes as well as some of their belongings on a ship and setting them on fire. One father requested a Viking funeral, and that’s exactly what he got.
A daughter honored her father’s request by making the foot and a half long boat herself. “He was a man who loved his wine. Got the boat shell & string from a hobby store. Pretty much everything else was made of wine corks & wine boxes. Sealed the bottom then doused it with starter after putting in the ashes,” she wrote. The boat burned in a private lake owned by her dad for hours. What a beautiful way to honor what he wanted.

“Set in his ashes & said goodbye”

Bless your heart for going the extra distance to fulfill your daddy's wishes. You are truly a loving daughter.
I'm 48 and I STILL call my father daddy.
I'm a teen and my parents are still "Mommy" and "daddy," as they will always be to me.

Daddy? Do you think she's five?
Really? I'm a teen and I still call my father daddy. There's nothing wrong with that. This daughter put in some serious time and effort to make this happen. She truly cares. I think Yvonne's comment sums that up perfectly.

Agreed. The whole comment - while I'm sure it was well-meaning - felt rather patronizing.
This is awesome!
How lovely - great way to transition
