Here's What I, A Former Anorexic, Have To Say To The Bullies That Made Pig Noises At Me
254Kviews
When I was 16 I developed an eating disorder (anorexia). I also struggled with depression and self-harm issues. The last 4 years I’ve been in several (clinical) treatments. I am still not there yet, but I am further along the road to recovery than ever.
Yesterday something happened to me which made me think (and stress) a lot. It was such a small thing, but it was like a bomb hit me.
Now, I’m writing a message to the guys who fat-shamed me.
This is me (20)
Although I still don’t have a healthy weight, I am so much happier now. I am going to own my size. I hope one day I can mean something to the world. I hope by then, they have seen and read this article and learned from it.

I have so much respect for her! I hope she will find confidence in her body because she look stunning!
Thank you so much my dear ❤
girl...you are NOT fat!!!!
You are beautiful, don't listen them. They are just jealousy and have problems. None normal and happy person won't humiliate another. Look how beautiful smile :)
You look GREAT!!!!!! But you're right, it doesn't matter what your body looks like, but what it can DO. Here's to your adventures!!!!
Oh my! I would never, ever call you fat! You've got this lovely, ultimately feminine shapes, curves and soul that put me in awe. If by getting fit again you mean strenghtening your body, living healthy life and loving yourself with all your special talents and limitations - do it for your exciting plans and happy future. You are beautiful to the core of your inner self and if anybody has a problem with you not fitting their expectations, remember - they are theirs. You had/have your struggles and challenges but you are winning. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Keep going. :)
I love the sound of what you have planned.. you're inspirational.. you know when you are just having a normal day and then something little happens like say dropping a spoon in a coffee shop and you end up having an awesome conversation for 20 mins with the person who picked it up for you...you lovely are that person, that person who intrigues and brightens people's days.. just because you are you :) that's the vibe I got from reading your story :) lol.. enjoying the little things ..
Better to have a little meat on your bones and be healthy than being thin as a twig and close to death. Also, some teens are real s**theads. I know from experience. Trying to act cool by being rude and insulting when in reality they just look stupid. Don't mind them. Ignore the pathetic little idiots and love yourself because that's what you deserve
@AlphaPuck I agree that being overweighed isn't the most healthy option! Fortunately, my blood results are great! I cycle 17 miles on every week day and eat a lot of veggies and enough fruit! Unfortunately I am a huge stress and emotion eater and I do have a lot of binges besides my healthy eating pattern. I hope I will go back to a healthy bodyweight in the future, but a big difference between now and then is my mental health state. I no longer punish my body by hours of exercising on little to no food. I am able to live again. Lots of love, Eva xx
Lovely lady, you're gorgeous and your smile could light up a room. I'm so sorry people are vile, you don't deserve it. You've come so far, and your happiness and health shows. You should be proud of yourself, I'm proud of you and I don't even know you.
And I think the steps you are taking is great. Let me tell you a bit about my body. 5'8", 150lbs. Always been built like a swimmer. I cycle upwards of 25 hours a week here in Colorado as well as play hockey 2x a week. I have a resting heart rate of 47bpm and about 95 for high intensity workouts. I eat decently and love green vegetables. I was raised on a ranch with a meat and potatoes kind of diet. I struggle mightily with my LDLs and triglycerides. To the point where when my blood is drawn if you let it sit for a day, the fats separate. But from the outside, I look perfectly healthy... even when taking blood pressure. But that doesnt tell the whole story. I never smoked but I do enjoy beer on the weekends (which is why I cycle so much). Body fat will vary within the standard deviation for height, but for those that just downvoted my comment because they feel that body positivism supersedes everything else, shame on them. Health goes much deeper than appearance.
The heck AlphaPuck?! She's not even fat, like at all! She's a pretty normal size and gorgeous!!

While I do agree that a little meat is better than bones, if she went to a brand new doctor tomorrow, she would be told that she needs to reduce her weight. I guarantee that her LDL and triglycerides are too high. But when compared to her previous weight she is now 5/10 healthy instead of 1/10 healthy. Gain too much weight and you are back at 1/10. Vast improvement, but more to go to get to an all round healthy
You don’t know that. I have been overweight most of my life, and a type 1 diabetic for 35 years. My cholesterol level is a little bit high, but that is caused by my high level good cholesterol - hdl. My bp is excellent and according to my endocrinologist there is no threat to my health. He also says that being a bit heavier is far healthier than for example smoking, which I fortunately quit 3 years and 28 pounds ago. You go girl! You are beautiful and remember that ‘fat’ people don’t wrinkle 😘
i think you are beautiful just the way you are and don'tlet anyone give you doubts.
