It's hard to remain positive when the world around us is so gloomy; environmental, political and people-related issues can become all-consuming, leaving us stressed and, at times, hopeless.

In the past couple of years, people's lives have changed drastically. Take the pandemic, for instance. Out of the blue, we were hit with a harsh reality that promised us nothing more than an unstable future. In fact, many folks are struggling to this day because, as it turns out, letting the negativity go is not as easy as it used to be.

Everyone has their own little routine that helps them to get away from all the negative messages that life occasionally throws at us; some enjoy a relaxing stroll in their nearby park, others love to surf through their social media feed in the hopes of finding something entertaining that will be able to ease their mind.

Bored Panda has contacted the creator of the "Delightful News," Joseph Yomtoubian, and asked him to tell us about the page and the people behind it: "I started the page in October 2021, I have a number of meme pages already such as @thetinderblog and @memesbyjoe. I do enjoy making people laugh, but I felt as though I wanted to do more. I decided to start a wholesome/feel-good page called @delightfulnews and the response was overwhelming to say the least".

The man then added: "I have received so many positive messages from people. One of which I will never forget - 'I spent the last 30 minutes crying over your posts. I didn't know there was such joy in the world'. Nothing has ever made me feel so good about what I do. As a result, I decided to create a 2nd wholesome page called @dailyhappystories where I share happy stories every day!"

Disgusting that Putin is trying to claim he and the Ukrainians are the "Nazis". Authoritarian shitbags always seem to like accusing other people of what being what they themselves are. Which we saw a lot with the Trump administration also.

But he has knowingly encouraged home-grown and mercenary neo-Nazis to fight as Ukrainian Home Security commanded by his generals since 2008. In fact, Ukraine became the go-to "holiday" destination for live combat training/experience -especially for wealthy US n-n/white supremacists riled up by Q-anon and others. The non-college student gap year. And as we see in Israel/Palestine, there is an historically close relationship between Nazis and Jewish fascism. They are not always, but can be, two sides of the same coin.

After the last few presidential choices here in the States, I pray we choose someone who is just an iota of the man President Zelensky is. (My fellow Americans, dont come at me, i am non political, I choose the person who lies the least and is most believable. I dont even know what the differences are between Dems and Reps. It just so happens that sometimes our lives get bombarded with dark, negative things; they eat us up and our once high-spirited way of living turns into this anxiety-ridden mess.

We asked Joseph to tell us why good news matter, to which he replied: "people forget that there is good in the world. When you turn on the news, or read the news online, all you see are the negative headlines, but we don't see the good news in the world; i.e. a deaf child receiving a hearing aid and hearing their mother's voice for the first time and the smile that comes along with it, or the child who learned sign language to communicate with their deaf postman."

"I am praying this reaches this young mans parents!!! Tonight as I was leaving football practice with my three kiddos my 4 year old was so tired he started crying and acting a fool as we were getting in the van. My 7 year old daughter started crying because I told her we were having red potatoes as a side for dinner and clearly she wasn’t a fan sooo I threw my hands up and said FORGET it - McDonald’s tonight!! We go through the drive through order food all three kids are now crying for one reason or the other I go to pay - I LEFT MY PURSE AT HOME. Welp now I wanted to cry. I look at the young man with tears in my eyes just from being stressed and annoyed and say “hun I am so sorry but I have to cancel that order I left my purse at home when we went to football tonight” WITHOUT HESITATION he takes out his wallet and swipes his card before I could even say “no I will be right back!” I was like wait no hun it’s ok I will come back through then he replies “no it’s totally fine, my pleasure”. I snapped a quick picture and asked his name to which he replied Wyatt ma’am. I told him I would be right back with cash for him & he tried hard to talk me out of it. I just want his parents to know how KIND & COMPASSIONATE your son was tonight! He made this stressed out momma pause for a moment and realize this is exactly what we parents are trying to do, raise great humans. Well Wyatt sir, you are an amazing human!!! I went back and handed him cash and had to make him take it because he didn’t want to take more than he had paid but I wanted him to know that when you put good out in the world it comes back to you ten fold! Wyatt, do not let this world change your kind heart young man for its people like YOU that will change this world for the better!"

I've been stressed lately. I got one more peice of stress-inducing news and I broke down quietly at work. I closed my door and sat on the floor to cry for one minute. When I opened the door, my coworker leaned on the door frame, looked at me with concern and proceeded to talk to me about shoes. It was very intuitive and kind of her to realize I was stressed and just needed a mental break. If you can sense that, give people a break. It won't always be money but compassion comes in many forms.

There’s more people in the world who are kind like this than there are who aren’t. The media only tells us about the nasty people so we are led to believe that there are more of those types. Kindness is a virtue most people show towards others. We just don’t hear of it so often.

Although browsing through your social media feed is an exceptionally effective way of escaping that jarring reality, it's not a secret that it can also be quite damaging. Apart from providing numerous platforms for entertainment purposes, we're often faced with bullying, unrealistic expectations about body image and, perhaps, life in general.

We assume that we're keeping up with the world and its wonders, yet everything that we see is a carefully curated version of people and their lifestyles.

Judging by how overwhelming the web can be, the "Delightful News" creator said that in order for the platforms to become more positive, people would have to "change their narrative and not allow the negative/trolls to rain on their parade."

Joseph mentioned that it's easy for people to hide behind a keyboard and bully other people, but folks need to remember that just because it's easy for them to do it, this doesn't mean that it's correct.

Sikhs are known for their generosity and commitment to their communities. It's one of the key teachings of their religion: "Vand Chhakna - sharing what one earns, generosity, the giving of charity. This is considered a religious duty because Sikhs believe this encourages compassion. Sewa - giving selfless service to the community. This should be practised in all areas of a Sikh's life." Sikhism is one of the very, very few religions that appeals to me.

I lived in a community with quite a large Sikh population for a while, and I knew nothing about the religion when I first moved there but after waiting for the bus one day and seeing a Sikh man silently stand up from the bus stop bench, walk over to a homeless man on the corner, silently hand the homeless man his OWN SHOES OFF HIS FEET, and then return to the bench barefoot and sit down and continue reading the newspaper like nothing had happened, I was in awe. It was one of the friendliest communities I’ve ever lived in and I miss it! :)

Sikhs are a very honourable and proud race, but extremely generous. Recent example of their generosity was during the Covid Delta wave that ravaged India and particularly it was horrific in Delhi. All the hospital where full, death everywhere and people gasping for oxygen. Remember even hospitals had run out of oxygen. But one place where you could go and get oxygen, where the sikh gurudwaras (sikh temples), and there was free oxygen for all. You got to understand covid was everywhere and they where out providing food, meds and oxygen. Respect.

Smh. Think about how f****d up it is that he even HAS to do this.... It's the same thing as when people cheer about the community raising money for someone for healthcare, housing, food, education etc costs. Why should they have too help someone raise 80,000 for cancer treatment or raising money for someone's insulin? It's crazy that to Americans that's a feel good story when instead they should be thinking wow turning healthcare into a for profit system or you'll die even if they can save you with treatment or that insulin is made for pennies but cost 1000's is a f****d up thing. Good luck explaining that without them telling you that you just want free s**t and to shut up when all you want is to be able to see a doctor without it costing 6,000 for an ER visit.

The healthcare system is so fricked up. They put profit over lives. I hope the people who decide that they would rather murder others and get rich then save them and not be as rich, go to bed every night and have nightmares of what they’ve done and their pillow is always warm. Props to this guy for making it affordable!

The US healthcare system is a cesspool of profit and exploitation. There was a chance to change its direction with a single insurance carrier when the Affordable Care Act was debated. A single carrier would be easy to monitor and regulate. But anti-Obama Republicans killed that idea...no doubt to gain favor with the many for-profit insurance carriers.

"So today this little boy came into the store and asked me 'where do you guys have the cheapest shoes?' so I showed him were they are. So I asked him. If these where for school. He said yea. I looked at his feet and saw the shoes that he was wearing were destroyed. Literally they were breaking apart. I asked him if he wore that for the first day of school and he said yes. He told me in a low voice a story and that sh*t broke my heart. I told him. Don't worry. Pick any shoe you like. He said why 'I'm not gonna have the money' I told him 'don't worry, I'll buy them for you.'he was like 'really?!!' I said yea of course. He got his favorite shoes. And I told him to make me a promise. To get good grades and be good in school. He said he promises. He kept telling me this is unreal and couldn't believe it was happening. So my new buddy walked of of finish line with a brand new pair of shoes for the school year.. Nothing makes me more happy than seeing someone with a smile on there face. Helping people is the best gift god has given me. Have a good school year. Bless up."

"Meet Satchel. He is the only employee here at Homewood Suites in Beaumont. The access road is underwater and I10 is shut down due to flooding. We can’t get in or go out. The hotel a mile from us is under water. Satchel has been here all night. His coworkers couldn’t make it to work so he stayed. He has manned the phones, answered each of our questions, ensured that we have had a hot cup of coffee or tea, and helped serve us a hot breakfast. He has handled this situation with grace, kindness, and a beautiful smile on his face. Sometimes we ask ourselves why God allows things to happen but we are not designed to understand his ways. I do think that sometimes He allows things to happen so we can be His light and share the love of Christ with others. I have seen a big teddy bear of a man washing dishes and serving eggs, a little grandmother wiping down tables, and a man drenched from head to toe because he crossed i10 to deliver bottles of water to truck drivers who have been stranded on i10. We saw a helicopter land at the hotel adjacent to us where the parking lot is underwater. Someone had to be flown out. I’m looking at my table and see a leftover bagel from breakfast, my hot cup of tea, my cozy socks, and dry tennis shoes. I am thankful for each of these things and for the peace in knowing that my family is safe and sound. Please pray for us and that we can each make it home safely to each of our families. If you know Satchel, tell him he is our hero! He gave me permission to share his picture. What an example of how to handle yourself in a crisis! Goodness gracious! I will stay here next time just knowing that despite whatever happens, I will have someone putting our needs above his own needs. Thank you Satchel for taking care of us here at Homewood in Beaumont. 😊"

Next time request for a lookalike.. As least you get laid that night by a lookalike rather then fingering it yourself while looking at that poster

Positive reinforcement. Now, this little gentleman will know that you can get further by being polite and kind. Hopefully, he grows up to be an example to others.

I used to go to my dads house on the weekends. He trained the dog to stay with me the entire time. He'd say "where's Tiff?" And Nibbs would find me, and stay by my side for however long I was there. I guess that's why they call Pitts babysitters.

u came onto a thread of good deeds. u not tired of posting the same bitter comment on every single one? ppl are doing good & letting others feel the happiness partaking in it. id rather hear a million people tell us all the good being done in the world than a single piece of reality/celeb "news" or more of the shitty side of humanity. scroll on or hop off the thread. put the phone down & go silently do some good if it bothers u that much. weirdo

My best friend raises dogs (humanely) and every time they small pooches have lots of puppies, we sit there and scritch their tummies while telling them how much empathy we have for them. They probably have no idea why we do it but we feel so much better for making them just a bit more comfortable. PS. Every female dog only has 2-3 litters and all of the mothers have normal families until they are going to give birth.

I said to my sons: No matter what you've done, I love you. I might get angry... and maybe I'll yell at you a bit. You will face the consequences of your actions. I'll help you as best I can and we'll find a solution together... but for this to work, you have to talk to me and you can't lie to me.

Yes, but both comments r talking about different things. The top is about things we would normally keep secret and the second is to just keep them engaged. Both r great tactics
