Our willpower is an exhaustible resource. Every now and then, we need to recharge and today we’ve got the perfect thing for you. After working in the corporate graphic design industry for 8 years, Gavin Aung Than quit his unfulfilling job at the end of 2011 to focus on his true passion, cartoon drawings. Since then, he has produced a lot of great comic strips, but one of them really stands out.
Titled “It couldn’t be done,” the relatable comics were actually based on a poem by Edgar Albert Guest (1881-1959). “I love taking old poems and adapting them for modern readers, so I thought using fitness and running was a good idea,” he told Bored Panda. “Plus, the character in the comic was used in one of my earlier Zen Pencils comics where he first decided to embark on a weight loss journey. So I wanted to bring him back and continue his story.”
Some readers have even emailed Gavin, telling him they were motivated to lead a healthy life after reading the comic. “I guess the combination of the poem and my pictures really packs a punch. That’s the power of comics paired with motivational quotes!” he said. “The poem is pretty motivational itself but I thought that by adding a new original story I could make the message even stronger and I think I achieved that. Well, I hope I did.”

Load More Replies...Pretty inspirational. I love the illustrations that went along with it.
It is a book, though not a children's one. It has famous quotes and illistrations like this one, very good book called "Zen Comics." Highly suggest you by it!

I picked up Zen Pencils (by this artist) a couple of years ago and had to get the sequel this year. Highly recommended for the BP crowd if you liked the above. It really does develop short quotes into a relatable narrative in a way that turns them all the more inspiring. They are great for coffee table keepers or sharing with friends. I don't plug unless it's something I genuinely appreciate and think others would, as well. See more on their site: https://zenpencils.com/
That part where he drinks the smoothie cracked me up. But they can be made so they are not too disgusting you know? But overall nice one. I like how it is emphasized here how you have to shrug off all the mocking and stupid remarks and focus on the target, that is so true.
You're so right about the smoothie part. I know the way to make my broccoli + celery juice tasty for my husband and me, while keeping it all healthy. ♥

This comic is amazing and inspirational. Now, looking forward to another one where the protagonist doesn't fit within the "eating lots of junk" cliché, has a 9-hour working day and commutes 1+1 hour back and forth every day.
Why don't people act like this on the whole Jennifer Lopez thing, like of course you can get a body like if you had dedication its not just all about the money....
Jennifer is almost 50. I'll eat my hat if she hasn't had some lipo or butt lift or some surgical assistance to erase the loss of muscle and metabolism that hits at middle age.
