So it was ok with you if your step daughter had nasty clothes to wear as long as she wasn't at your house? That's gross. Be an adult and don't punish a child because her mom is s****y.

I know I'm gonna take hits for this, but I agree. It seems to me that this guy is wanting internet approval for doing the things that he should be doing in the first place...almost saying "hey I'm a *dude* and look at what I'm doing!". Although I do have a lot of sympathy for his grief and loss.

Its sweet, i agree. And it must have been stressful with grief going on. But i wish he (including most fathers) would actively participate even when the mom is alive. As well as knowing their current clothing size etc. I know some do, but they are not the majority.

I'm a Gen X so I understand where you are coming from about not feeling like an adult.... but her point is, even though we dont feel like adults, most of us GenX have acheived the benchmarks she has talked about. I dont feel like an adult, but I have achieved the markers of adulthood... I have a solid career, raise two children, pay the mortgage and mow the lawn on weekends. Labour laws (and the absence thereof), economic reality, cost of education a whole raft of things putting downward pressure on younger generations means most of them have no hope of acheiving those benchmarks. But without them.... then what?

Can I ask, what is the hope for these protests? Besides spreading the word? Or is spreading the message in fact the premise? I'm genuinely asking, because I care and want to understand. I understand protesting where you want a specific decision changed, but I think I'm struggling to understand the 'outcome' of these protests. The police going to jail that murdered George? I hope I'm explaining my question well. I mean, racism won't disappear overnight (unfortunately) so like what would people want exactly to end the protests? Just a generalized movement to end racism? I hope I am not offending anyone by asking. I want to understand and learn more about this, and would genuinely love to talk about it.
