Conjoined twin Abby Hensel is a married woman.

The 34-year-old tied the knot with Josh Bowling, a nurse and United States Army veteran, in 2021, Today reported on Wednesday (March 27).

On X (formerly known as Twitter), Bowling describes himself as a “Christian, Father, Husband, Veteran, and occasional gamer.”

The Hensels’ profile photo on Facebook appears to show the conjoined twins wearing a wedding dress. Dressed in a grey suit, Bowling stands before them, holding their hand.

Abby and her twin sister Brittany first shared their story in 1996 on The Oprah Winfrey Show. However, it was on the TLC reality show “Abby & Brittany” that the public got to know more details about their daily lives.

The TV series followed them as they prepared to graduate from Minnesota’s Bethel College and later traveled to Europe, as per People.

The sisters are dicephalus-conjoined twins, which means they were born fused together at the torso.

Abby and Brittany have separate spinal cords, brains, hearts, and other organs but share those located below the waist. While Brittany controls the left side of their body, Abby controls the right.

“People have been curious about us since we were born, for obvious reasons,” the twins said in the first episode of the reality show, according to ABC.

“But our parents never let us use that as an excuse. We were raised to believe we could do anything we wanted to do.”

The two have always kept low profiles and were never interested in revealing information about their love lives.

“The whole world doesn’t need to know who we’re dating or what we’re gonna do and everything,” Brittany said in the 2006 documentary “Joined for Life: Abby & Brittany Turn 16.”

Still, back then, the twins had a clear vision of what they wanted for their future.

“Yeah, we’re going to be moms,” Brittany said in the documentary. “We haven’t thought about how being moms is going to work yet.”

After the twins were born, a doctor suggested the possibility of separating them, though they warned that there was a chance that one of them wouldn’t survive the procedure

Brittany and Abby’s father, Mike, decided against the operation.

“How could you pick between the two?” he said in a 2001 interview with TIME.

“I wish the best for them,” someone commented

They're grade school teachers too. I watched a show about them in the classroom. The kids love them and joke that it's harder to get away with stuff because there are 2 sets of eyes watching. Very smart women. I'm of course curious about how a few things will work in the marriage, but those are really none of my business.

In their classroom job, they only get one salary! Seems unfair if you ask me, they are two people after all

What happens when husband and wife want to have sex, but sister doesn’t consent?

have known about these ladies for a long time but never followed on the show. i so admire their parents instilling in them the confidence they have to go out and live full lives. now, that includes marriage and, perhaps, a family. of course, people have probably wondered how their 'love lives' have gone but they have always been discreet, and it is no one's business but their own. gives me joy to know that they living to the fullest and, obviously, have found someone who loves them for who they are since they are very much their own person(s).
