These are beautifully captured. Although I would have liked to have been able to see more of the dogs. You can barely see most of them because they are captured at such a long distance away , you can barely make them out. I would definitely have liked to have been able to see them and their features. Otherwise well done photography for sure.

As someone who shows dogs, I'm curious how you're going to handle breeds that have disputed and/or shared history like Cocker spaniels (Cockers versus English Cockers in the States where as in England it's American Cockers versus Cockers) or Biewer Terriers?

Fun fact: chihuahuas were originally almost twice the size of the current breed standard. Mine is almost 14 lbs but his DNA test proved he is 99.99% chihuahua. We call him the kaiju of the chihuahua world.

That's probably because you are looking at them on a phone or a small screen. These dogs we not photographed far away, they filled the frame and I took additional photographs, sometimes over 100, to build the landscape around them. This results in images that are extremely high resolution. They are 100% designed to be seen in print. So yes, they look small on screens, but in print you can see every single strand of fur.

It is this specific dogs natural habitat. Unmistakably Australia for sure.

As I said in my write-up "places they come from or are strongly connected to". I'd say being called 'French' strongly connects them to France. I've also photographed a Welsh corgi in London, because of their association with Queen Elisabeth II and Australian shepherds in Australia.

Oh I have Galgo, Italian Greyhound and Scottish Deerhound, and that is all I'm saying, but there are more!

Well I will have max of 90 breeds in this book, and my list has over 300, so Dogs of the World Volume 2 is a definite possibility is this one goes well!

This is by no means an encyclopedia of dog breeds, it is primarily a photographic book. At most I will have 90 breeds (my list is well over 300 long), so I'm avoiding dogs who are too similar. I've photographed working English cockers and springers, and I have a Boykin spaniel lined up for my next USA visit. At this stage of the design, they'll be ordered in the book by breed group.

Sadly Russia is not on the cards at the moment, but one day I hot to photograph the terrier and the Borzoi. Leo in Germany is on my list for early next year. I will finish all shoots by May.

That was the pan, but the weather was not on our side. What you can't see in a small internet sized version of this is just how torrential the rain was! I almost killed my camera.
