Chinese Restaurant Has The Weirdest Chicken Wing Pricing And People Are Drawing Graphs To Figure It Out
Every once in a while, people of the internet come together to achieve great tasks, for (often times) odd reasons. It’s definitely not the first time that the great minds of Twitter used their talents to calculate formulas for something they deemed interesting, so when one user posted a mind-boggling chicken wing price chart, everyone got their calculators out.
The menu comes from Danny’s Wok, a Chinese restaurant in the States, and whoever was working on these prices quickly had people confused. People posted formulas, charts and their own analyses on Twitter until they found the best answer. Scroll down below to read what they come up with and don’t forget to add your own input! Recently, Twitter user Sean posted a mind-boggling price chart for chicken wings
The menu comes from Danny’s Wok, a Chinese restaurant in the States, and it had people confused
It wouldn’t be Twitter if people didn’t try to figure the menu out
They even went as far as making charts of their own

Which later turned into formulas
And eventually boiled down to graphs
Until someone, finally, seemed to have figured it out!

Share on FacebookI was about to graph that data myself. It was a relief to see that someone else had done the grunt work for me!
I'm less confused about the price of the wings and more confused as to why people wasted precious hours of their lives doing the price per unit of wings they will probably never purchase anyway....
This is a classic optimization problem, that has applications everywhere. Pick any random manufactured item at your home, most probably during R & D, it has gone through this process
Load More Replies...Isn't there some place where you could get wings cheaper at a more consistent price?
everybody considered just the wings...I would consider also other factors, such as production optimization and/or the packaging needed.
Upvoted, but from the customer's point of view, perhaps it is more important the ppw.
Load More Replies...who wants to pig out on those wings tho? i'll be swimming in wings for days!
I just think its sad that for $222 dollars you can buy 200 wings which meant 100 chickens have died everytime someone orders that.
Excel spread sheet was on point and loved the bar graph. Seems like the best deal is 50, but then you have to actually eat them all. I wonder if the owner knows about all this lol.
I just think its entertaining how people can have fun arguments about wing prices.....BTW i'm hungry now...
we found this menu pretty interesting, as well. thread starts here with "What's the minimum number of orders you have to make to guarantee you can order any 3 digit number of wings?" and leads to a handful of solutions: https://twitter.com/mrb_bk/status/1055144294309416960
I didn't graduate just to be forced to understand math now that I'm old. My eyeballs hurt.
The people of internet...xD That's adorable. Am jealous of having that much free time atm, but still adorable.
Times it helps to graph it out. Buy everything in sets of 25. wings-5bda...4155f3.jpg
I have to admit. The first thing I did was get out the excel sheet and start writing equations. I found that the best prices should be at 25, 50, 75 (which no one said anything about) and odly 125 but not 100. I am going to guess that someone messed up their computation to screw up 100.
I get the *buy in bulk for best deal* ,but I only have monies for 12 wings. And would be full with that many. So I don't care for the bulk part, especially if I only save ~30 cents.
People people, its Chicken wings...ok? Why overwork your brain cells over pricing set by some one who obviously cannot count, never mind add! 'Sides which, theres smoke coming out my ears from my single brain cell getting overworked by all this
Come on, from a country where ice tea comes in unlimited refill but a large glass is more expensive than a small one, This price list as a commercial stunt to get you ordering wings when you wanted pizza in the first place.
This whole exercise resembles a "Big Bang Theory fest" People sitting around doing charts and algorithms on the price of wings obviously have got wayyy too much time on their hands. Shut down the computer, ask for permission to leave your parent's basement for a few hours...and maybe go find a Star Trek convention or something.
