“Rob Rogalski’s whimsical art enraptures. His miniature movie sets, his puppets, and his sculptures transport you to a fantasy world that feels breathtakingly real.” Sounds amazing, doesn’t it? Rob’s work, while pleasing for humans, has also found some fans in the feline world too, with this incredible cat tree installation that is just perfect for adventurous kitties.

The adorable cat climber installation that was made at a friend’s house over the course of a summer is one of a kind, custom-designed, and built on the location, so if you’d like one yourself, you’ll need to invite Rob over!
“First, I design and build to the specific needs of the location and my clients,” Rob told Bored Panda. “Each cat playground is different; it is an organic process.”
“For permanent installations, like trees, human and cat furniture, beds, reading nooks, etc. I start my DIY projects by constructing a wooden armature, to give structure, then I attaché, then carve sheets or blocks of foam that are then covered with a paper pulp/particle clay.”
“That is then mixed with heavy-duty wood glue.. (or even fiberglass resin, but I prefer not to use fiberglass) This is extremely durable.”
“For home improvements that need a little less structure, or is temporary, like a theatrical set, or storefront display, I’ll build “a tree” out of cardboard and paper mache. Sometimes I’ll do a mix of both techniques. This is still very durable.”
Rob also does other similar pieces, like these tree-shelves in a little girl’s bedroom
“Because of the time and the labor involved in making something like this, I charge a minimum of $4000 to $4500,” Rob explains. “This doesn’t include the cost for supplies, that are paid for by my client separately. The total amount is contingent on the size and extras added. The material needs vary from job-to-job and time spent.”
“If you want to commission me to build your family pet a tree, please feel free to contact me!”

There is not one cat alive that would ignore this. I think that goes for humans too.

Hoping my cat doesn't see this. He still hasn't paid me back for all his other cat "necessities" .
But what about the first time you watch a scary movie after installing this piece of art next to your coach? It's a heart attack waiting to happen. I'll take the little girls version in white with christmas lights, thank you!
Looks cool, but I'd hate to think of the other critters, such as spiders, who would love to live in it. Not to mention trying to keep it clean. A traditional cat tree is easy to vacuum when you clean regularly, so dirt, hair, and critters generally don't have an opportunity to put down roots.
You mean snacks? I'm sure the cat will enjoy all those snacks.

The photo of the little cat asleep is so cute! Little fluffy kitten. Wait that repeated.
If it’s what you like, it’s worth every penny. As it is, my cats are grooving on our Eames loungers. The tree would be cheaper.

I love it! I want one. My cat wants to stay outdoors all the time. Bringing in that would definitely help. She was wild when i got her. Now i just want her happy. She is a MeKong.
Paper mache can be very strong, depending on your recipe and the shapes you make. Well done! It can also be water proof if you want that. Depends on the recipe, the final coats are functional as well as attractive.
Wow, this takes real talent. I wish I could do artful stuff like this.
"For Permanent Installations, like cat trees, furniture, beds, reading nooks etc. I start by constructing a wooden armature, to give structure, then I attaché" What does attache mean here? I want to make one of these myself!!!
Just a suggestion... next time, sculpt an artificial cat instead and save a boatload of money on reforesting your living space with sculptures that will make your primary residence unsaleable. You can make the cat any size you want out of wire and mohair so it will be soft and cuddly.
Why? Why wouldn’t everyone of all species deserve the best the world has to offer? Assuming those cats, other animals or humans aren’t actively bringing harm to the world, why wouldn’t they deserve the best that’s available?
