Meet Jin Jin, the Persian kitty who recently became the victim of one of the most epic hairdresser mishaps ever. As is quite typical with long-haired cats, Jin Jin’s owner Xie Qian Qian makes sure the cat gets shaved every once in a while. This is supposed to keep the cat cool and bring less hair to the house. Jin Jin would always return from the hairdresser with an adorable lion-style cut, with the fur on his head and tail being mostly untouched. Not this time, though…
A few months ago, when Jin Jin was supposed to have an appointment with a hairdresser, his owner was too busy to take the kitty there and asked her friend to drop him off. When she arrived to pick him up, the woman was completely taken aback – Jin Jin’s hair was cut in a way that made him look like he was wearing a silly cat mask.
“I was surprised the groomer would shave him like that,” Qian told The Dodo. Still, after the initial shock, Qian and her husband couldn’t help but laugh at the kitty’s new look.
Today Jin Jin’s hair is back to its glorious fluffiness. However, the kitty himself didn’t seem to mind the new haircut much. Maybe he’s finally getting in touch with his inner hipster.

Meet Jin Jin, the Persian kitty who recently became the victim of one of the most epic hairdresser mishaps ever
His owner Xie Qian Qian makes sure the cat gets shaved every once in a while
However, this time she didn’t have time to take him to the groomer herself and asked her friend to do it
When she came to collect him, the old Jin Jin was gone
She was shocked to see her cat looking like this… (Whoops! Bad groomer)
Cheer up, kitty – a bad hairdresser experience can happen to anyone!
This has also started a hilarious Photoshop battle

Share on FacebookPersian cats originate from a hot country, Nature must have intended for them to have long hair or they would have evolved differently. Shaving a cat is totally unnecessary give him/her a good grooming and get rid of all the loose hair. The owners that do this are weird themselves. Husky or Malamute do the job of getting rid of hair themselves, they don't need shaving. Sarah, you're not a cat person so how would you know?
Except they dont... first persian cat was imported to Europe from Khorasan province.. Average annual temp is 10 degrees Celsius.. I wouldnt call that a hot country.. You watched Aladin too much. One doesnt need to be a cat person to use elementary logic which you obviously lack.
Load More Replies...I know some cats and dogs do need to be shaved in order to control temperature, but this is the dumbest thing to do to a cat. Hope the groomer is no longer grooming because they sucked at it!
Cats do not need to be. Shaved unless it is for a medical reason any groomer with a brain in their head knows this
Load More Replies...It shows that you need to take your pet not a friend. If they are that important make the time.
Ohhh my poor poor kitty. I want to curse that hair dresser but I am laughing so hard I can't stop.
I would have been livid!! They would have given my money back for damn sure.
You care that much about fur? Who is it going to hurt?
Load More Replies...Nothing more than a stupid and cruel joke. I would get hold of the groomer and shave his/her head the same way. Then we can talk about style.
A lot of times longhaired cats (persians) get whats known as a lion cut. This is done usually in the summer or when they are shedding. Granted the head isn't as extreme asthis kitty, but it will grow back.
What?! My Squeaker (also a long-haired Persian) LOVED getting shaved, because he was so much freer to move (he just wouldn't let me brush out the inevitable knots in that long hair). But the shave is supposed to stop at the NECK. (He also had cute little boots and a powder-puff at the tip of his tail.) Shaving the cat's EARS is just too much.
Omg that poor cat I feel so bad for laughing at him but omg that's to funny
That haircut is obscene at best. I think I'd consider a law suit against the groomer. I used to get my Persian groomed and one time I picked him up and there was nothing left except a stupid square head and a small tuft of hair on his tail. The poor cat was embarrassed to say the least and he shivered in my air conditioned home. I was constantly covering him with a blanket until his hair was at least 1/2 inch long again. I was so angry I told that darn groomer that he was lucky I didn't find a lawyer to sue him!! I never used that groomer again. I made it very clear that he was not to be shaved from then on!! Poor cat!!
Good groomers would never shave a cat like that only a******s would

I thought it was funny, and the separate fact that people cut their pets hair first of all is their decision. Plus maybe the cat/pet likes it better short.(Or long)
Except this is real. Have you ever shaved a cat? They look like bizarre little aliens.
