I never heard the term "Moomins" before, but learned a little by Googling it. There was a version of Pinocchio that was similar in style from the 1940s or 50s. It was pretty much a knock-off of the Disney film.

Moomins are cool, big in Scandinavia. They're finnish, and in Finland you find the Moomin themepark, and absolutely no merchandise can be bought inside the park. So there are no pressure on parents to buy a shitload of expensive stuff for their kids :) That's kinda nice, I think
