Cutie & The Beast: Girl And Doberman Do Everything Together From Sleeping To Bathing
208Kviews
This cutie and her beast are the adorable three-year-old Siena and “Buddha,” her two-year-old Doberman. The unusual couple have been gaining popularity on social media through the photos of their antics, and because many consider a Doberman to be an unusual companion for a little girl.
“Dobermans are also known as ‘Velcro dogs’,” Tara Prucha, Siena’s mother, told Today. “They just want to be with their one human. And he has obviously chosen my daughter. We’re really happy with the attention Buddha is getting. People are seeing how sweet and mellow they can be.”
More info: cutieandthebeast.com | Facebook | Instagram (h/t: today)
“She doesn’t have a single toy or play set she adores” said Siena’s mother
“For her, that’s Buddha,” the family’s Doberman
Siena got Buddha after her Chihuahua, Rabbit, was killed in an accident
The family considered getting a dog from a shelter
Finally, they decided on a breeder: “because we have a very young child and understand the multiple genetic issues that the breed can have, we preferred to know the full history of our new family member”
“We’re really happy with the attention Buddha is getting”
“People are seeing how sweet and mellow they can be”
Siena and Buddha are inseparable and do everything together
They sleep together
They do each other’s nails
They even play piano together
This fun-loving pair has already won the hearts of over 100 thousand people on Instagram

Shame about the ears and tail :( adorable pair, though.
Just what I was thinking. I thought ear and tail clipping was outlawed already. Shame on the breeder.
CraigSykora, plastic surgery is for humans, who have the option to choose it or not to. Dogs have no choice, and unlike humans are not obsessed with looking s certain way. Unless there is a leg image health reason for removing a body part, then these poor animals deserve to left alone and kept well away from people like you. If you want to go have some surgeon cut your ears to a point, be my guest, but just don't let him/her have a go at your dog.

The tails are docked because they are prone to cancer in Dobermans. The ears are cropped to help with hearing (like a cats ears) as they are able to pinpoint sounds to within 5 degrees. Cropping is not allowed in some countries but most American breeds are done this way.

Outlawed? What country do you live in? What do you think about outlawing plastic surgery? Shame on you for wanting to control what other people do.
Absolutely. If people are concerned about showing what lovely dogs they can be, why disfigure them to make them look fierce. So glad this is banned here in the UK. Totally unnecessary.

So glad you live in the UK and that I don't.
This may be in another country, where clipping ears and tail are legal....
What's wrong?
The tail is actually good because of the way it can grow and get deformed. The ears though, yea, they look so much sweeter without cropped ears.
Meanwhile one, or all you women probably have sons with circumcised penises.
Actually, no. Because that's weird as well. In the UK we generally don't go in for mutilating other people without consent or disfiguring our pets.

Sorry, but I like 'm better like that too, although I agree that in 2015 there are no real reasons to do this anymore (originally it wasn't for cosmetic reasons).

Shame you can't read an article and think about how nice it is. Shame you don't realize this dog had an awesome life. Shame on you.
It does have an awesome life. But in an article that is trying to portray how nice these dogs are, there is a point to be made about why someone would want to make it look fierce and nasty. It's a lovely dog. It would be more lovely if it hadn't had bits cut off it.
please

What shame? The shame about what an awesome life this Dobe has? Other dogs should be so lucky and other owners should be so good to their dogs. Shame on you for your stupid comment.
Dear Craig, obviously you felt personally attacked by some of these comments. Surely nobody intended to attack you in person. From all I understand, there's different opinions about what is considered reasonable changes in another creature, which is completely in our hands. You seemed to support, or be O.K. with the fashion to surgically change some features in certain breeds. I can't help but wonder what the good (for the dog or owner) there is in changing the length of the tail and deforming the ears? Maybe you would like to explain.
I pity the gals first boyfriend 3:)
I kept looking but i don't see any of the hallmarks of stress in Buddha that one often sees in dogs that are play, ages for children. (Lip licking, eye rolling, etc.). He truly seems to adore her, and she has very clearly been taught to respect her buddy's boundaries. ❤️
Very good posed pictures. Shame about the docking.
Love it! I had a Doberman in Mozambique, and I adored him! Refused to allow his ears and tail to be cut! Never would I dare interfere with God's creations! :) See u one of these days, my beloved Sasha!
"We wanted to know the genetic jibberjabber". A shelter dog is the best kind of breed. Grateful and full with love! This is a VERY WELL trained dog and child, though. Cute indeed.
They wanted a dog from a breeder. It was their choice. Big deal. You don't know their history, maybe they've gotten many rescue pets over the years and just wanted a puppy this time. Lighten up. Can't we just focus on the positive here?
Hahah genetic jibberjabber! People still think shelter dogs are broken. Shame.
how could anyone see pictures like these and call any dog dumb! this animals patience and sensitivity are so apparent!
Beautiful photos of a beautiful relationship! I hope people realize the same can be found with an adopted/shelter pet though! #adoptdontshop
Beautiful, and for you negative people,"Get over it" That dog has the wonderful home every dog deserves
What? Life ain't black and white lady. This dog seem to have a wonderful life for sure! But that doesn't mean its wonderful to cut of parts of its body.. that's two totally different things.
Just beautiful, Doberman's are wonderful dogs. And very sweet. I've had three - two black and tan and a red. Love them! This little girl has a wonderful friend. I wish them many happy years together.
i think some people must not understand that its cruel to do that to an animal.....and most vets just do the surgery w/o any sharing to the dog's people about the cruelty aspect of it......most vets do the same disservice with cats and declawing.
ps- the dog sitting on my lap is my pitbull named ellie. she was rescued from a fighting ring 3 years ago....her ears are docked....they just used a knife and no anesthesia...she has constant ear infections :(
Poor wee baby. Thank you for saving her xx

WHY do you need to be so descriptive!!
This brings memories back from when I was a little girl playing with my grandmother's Doberman <3 We had the same connection <3
There isn't a human alive that can take the place of a devoted canine companion... While I don't like ear and tail "docking", Dobies are simple one of the most beautiful and intelligent of the canine species.. May these two have a long and happy life together.
Why is cruelty to animals so popular in the USA? Puppies in pet shops, cutting off dog tails ... in Germany you won't find this.
I've visited Munich twice and loved how people take their dogs everywhere as part of the family - in shops, restaurants, train stations etc. Fantastic attitude and the dogs seem so happy and well behaved :)
I agree, dogs in Germany are generally friendly and well behaved. It really surprised me because dogs in my hometown are often fierce and dangerous.
Why do you US-Americans love to torture animals? Cutting off a dog's tail is like cutting off a human's vocal chords.
Not all of us do. I would never do this to any living creature. I agree, a dog expresses so much emotion with its tail. I can't imagine not seeing the happy wiggle waggle of my dogs' tails when I come home from work. This cruel practice needs to be outlawed. Sadly, it goes on.
What a sweet pair!!!
this made my day.
Sweet! Just one thing: An animal from a shelter is ALWAYS the better decision. There are some many animals without home, there is no single reason for any breeding.
I have two dogs. One is a purebred English Lab from a breeder (because the dogs from the rescues cost about the same or more at the time and you didn't know their background.) The other is a Shepherd/Lab mix from a shelter, who is the sweetest, gentlest dog, always thankful for the home and love she has from us. We are double-blessed!
Beautiful photographs.
why cut his ears poor dog.
There is no greater love than a human & their dog
beautiful pair. totally sad about the ears and the tail docking. ugh. that pup would look so much cuter with floppy ears!!!
They're adorable!
I didn't know about the ear clipping. Thought that's how Dobermans were :/ Such a cute friendship tho!
I'm glad not everybody makes excuses as to why it's okay to go to a breeder. It is cute but come people when will we learn.
Do we really have to judge EVERYTHING in EVERY story? Can't we ever just appreciate the story instead of making snap judgments on everything?
Thank you! I just love the intent of this photography -- the love between a child and a dog. Don't need to bring all the other judgements in!
It's not a snap judgement - if people are trying to show how friendly these dogs are, why cut them to look like a fighting dog?
AMEN!
Cutie and the beast, but the doggo is the cutie :)
I love the Calvin & Hobbes time machine picture...
so when would you cut your daughter ears and and leg??? just curious if you say the dog and girl do everything together
People keep commenting about the docking. Yes, it's traditional, and no, from what every (many) vet and breeder has told me, it does not cause them pain so early in life. If they wait a certain time, yes, it willl cause them pain and at that point I wouldnt advise it!
We are on our second doberman, having lost our first just weeks before our oldest daughter was born. Our newest dobie pup is amazing with kids. We welcomed a second baby girl when he was only a year old. He was immediately her guardian and protector (in addition to our 2 year old daughter). He has always been gentle and sweet, even when the girls are unintentionally rough with him. He would do anything for them. Anyone who thinks dobermans are mean are completely uneducated and naieve. We will never have a better family dog. Kudos to Buddha!!
Beautiful dog and more beautiful daughter!! I'm on my second Dobie--the first died at 10yo from Von Woblers disease. She was my world. After having two children and a new Dobie pup, I can say they are the best family dogs. He adores them, I can't imagine anyone ever hurting them!!! All our love to your family and our Apollo!!
No one will ever mess with that little girl! What a special bond they share.
What a beautiful story. Our Doberman, Apollo, watches over our two little girls like they were his own pack. They put sunglasses on him, put Hawaiian leis around his neck, and host tea parties in his honor. He is their best friend and guardian. I cannot imagine their childhood without him. You have captured this perfectly with Buddha. Love to you all. Miranda B.
I love Dobermans. Bravo to the girl and her family!!!
Adorable
Three problems: 1. Bought from a breeder instead of saving another dog's life 2. Ears docked 3. Tail docked. WHY?
Three problems: Bought from a breeder Tail docked. Ears docked. WHY???
So cute!!!!!
So cute!!! I love this moment.
I don't buy the reason for not going to a shelter. I have 2 rescues, large breeds, and they are the most gentle dogs I've known. I'm actually shocked at how tame and amazing sweet they are. Personally I think it's because they're so happy to just have a home. Regardless, I do agree that Dobermans are amazing and sweet, sweet dogs :)
My 4 children were raised with Dobermans, who were the sweetest, smartest, most gentle dogs ever, at the same time very loyal and protective. The neighborhood kids used to come over and play on playground equipment in our backyard, including sandbox and the dogs and kids loved it. This may have neem before the days of in-breeding, etc. No issues at all with our Dobes.
Soo Cute. Love them.
Yup, that lovely doggie should still have his full tail and ears, I would not buy from any breeder that does that, it’s shameful and disgusting. I love the photos though and the relationship this little girl has with her beautiful dog. It is also not true that you would not get a doberman, and a really great one, that has the same temperament as this lovely dog at a shelter; that is just a big mistake these owners made they have not done their research.
<3
Awesome connection between them. I would hate to see what would happen if anyone tried to hurt her.
I think my nephew Dylan should get his own dog so that he can have a great relationship like this one!
so adorable!
What a beautiful 'love story'....I'm actually teary-eyed because I miss my 'Gandolf' so much I especially loved the close-ups with 'their paws' together! If I could, I would have a whole 'pack of Dobermans' they are FANTASTIC PETS and FAMILY MEMBERS. I am saving & sharing this. MANY MAHALO'S
Awesome! Wish me and my dog were the same!
So adorable! They respect each other. Friends for life. I feel so sorry for her first boyfriend loll
Some dogs' tails are really short, inborn. Just like my friend's dog.
So cute!!!
Lovely pair, and it shows how breed really doesn't matter. It's the person holding the leash. That said... tsk-tsk on the tail docking and ear cropping.
Dobies make wonderful pets and this is a beauty. Not to be a nag, but why would you cut this dogs ears and tail?
Because they preferred the look. Like curcumcision or other cosmetic surgery that is elective.
When will I learn not to feed the trolls... A lot of time circumcision has medical reasons to it. To correct Paraphimosis. Google is your friend. Also: Human Papilloma Virus -a reason of cervical cancer - can very oftnen be found under the foreskin (without causing simptomes in males) and get transmitted through sexual intercourse. Both in the Jewish and Muslim communities cases of penile and cervical cancer are highly reduced.
Did the dog get a say in it?
I wish my cat was as sweet as that. xD
So beautiful! What a great pair <3
What a beatiful couple is this... I love it.
So sweet!
We had Dobermans with docked tails and ears....a lot better for the dog as a lot of tails were broken.......and we also had a Red Doberman with a tail when it was outlawed by our stupid government......they should think first before making laws....if done properly when they are pups there is no pain.....
Do you have any idea what the he'll you're saying? Ears and tails are how dogs first communicate with other animals and with attentive humans. There is actually pain. They had their ears and tails CUT OFF. Are you really going to sit there and speak as if you've had your ears trimmed down painlessly for aesthetic reasons and it just "didn't hurt"?? There is ZERO medical reason to have any dogs tail or ears docked. It's purely selfish on the owners part. If the dog can consent, then fine. Otherwise, pardon me, but f*ck that bullsh*t logic.
Stopped looking when I got to the crap about why they went to a breeder instead of adopting from a shelter. That's bullshit.
So I assume then that you also believe that children should be adopted and not birthed? Because genetics don't matter, right? And you shouldn't want to raise a baby yourself either, regardless which species, so it can learn the traits you wish to teach it and not already established ones? As a person who has adopted 2 dogs previously, and had endless issues with training out bad behaviours and building trust, I can speak from experience here. There's no need to shame anyone who wishes to buy a dog from a breeder. The same effect applies - one less dog without a home. Do you honestly think breeders will stop breeding because shelters are already full? There is a demand for breeders for a reason. Several reasons, in fact. Shelters are indeed heartbreaking, but your ignorance is palpable.
This family made a great choice how dare you judge them. Instead judge the idiots who ended up putting a dog into a shelter. Do some research on genetics and dog training then delete your comment and your account.
I see a lot of money and a single child . Problems later in life.
Great inspirational story ruined by the comments section, once again.
It went from shelter to breeder... then I just didn't care from there. Shame.
Lots of posed pictures. They demonstrate a photographer's 'concept', not a true relationship between the girl and dog.
