I just read about this. This is a vendor selling pet food before we had canned and kibble. The article said animals would sometimes go out to greet their specific vendor. They would ignore other vendors. I'd never thought about how people fed their pets before. I guess I assumed whatever meat they had, they used some for their pets. This is a great picture.
