    "What whole number comes before 1000?" Infinitely many do. 534, 7, 0, -42,... 999 just happens to be the largest.

    This has nothing to do with smartness or knowledge of maths. It's just purely mechanical arythmetics, and extremely easy.

    Length of its SIDES is 4 thus each side is 1... 4 being the length of each SIDE is a different maths problem.
