COVID-19 has surely changed people’s lives not only by directly threatening their lives but also by spreading chaos, obscurity, and distrust. For quite some time, everyone has known that the most effective way to end this misery and the constraints is to invent a vaccine that would fight the virus. Vaccines are known to be a helpful and reliable way out of the pandemic, so once it was discovered and presented to the public, people once again were given the hope that soon this all would be over. However, not everyone is convinced that these vaccines are reliable and pose no threat to our health. The disagreements between those who believe in vaccination and those skeptical about it have become quite the topic, with various (scientific) proof and personal experiences as well as fake news and propaganda.

In December 2020, a Twitter account called @BadVaccineTakes was created. The account that now has almost 33k followers posts “bad science/conspiracies,” or in other words, shares content that is created and spread by anti-vaxxers. BadVaccineTakes include tweets with pictures revealing various conspiracy theories about the negative outcomes of vaccines that are not true and discourage people from getting the shot that can prevent them from experiencing harsh symptoms of the virus.

The scary thing is people actually believe this. The overwhelming amount of misinformation and ignorance is astounding!
Even though it is hard to deny the efficacy of the vaccines, there are numerous reasons why some people still refuse to get them. So what are these reasons? First of all, some are still in denial that there is such thing as COVID-19, thinking that it is just a hoax, a lie that makes it easier to monitor people. And even if the virus is true, then their own immune system will be able to fight it.

Another reason for not wanting to get a vaccine is that it was discovered very recently and so we don’t know what side effects it could have on us. A lot of people who are against the vaccine share theories about it changing one’s DNA, as well as causing infertility or birth defects.
Of course, everyone can have doubts about this situation and the potential way out of this, but it seems that with time, these fears that later turn into misinforming theories are getting out of hand, causing people to lose their loved ones or put themselves at risk.

Do you mean ASSOCIATION FOR MOLECULAR PATHOLOGY ET AL. v. MYRIAD GENETICS, INC., ET AL (https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/12pdf/12-398_1b7d.pdf )? That was about isolating BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes for breast cancer research, and the DNA and cDNA (aka complementary—-synthetic—-DNA) used in that research. The decision was DNA, being a “product of nature” is not patent eligible, but cDNA is because it’s synthetic. Myriad Genetics could patent cDNA used for testing, but not DNA extracted to isolate BRCA1 and BRCA2. Absolutely nothing to do with the COVID vaccine, which, btw, is an mRNA based formulation. mRNA cells are messenger cells that “teach our cells how to make a protein that will trigger an immune response inside our bodies”. Also, “ mRNA never enters the nucleus of the cell where our DNA (genetic material) is located, so it cannot change or influence our genes” (both quotes: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/different-vaccines/mrna.html ). Apples and oranges.

There is actually a condition called Jerusalem Syndrome where people visiting Israel have been know to stay, giving up all worldly goods so they can be close to God. They give up every aspect of their life. Religion can be an addiction like any other thing. Obsessiveness is not a sign of awakening...it's a sign of a mental issue..a void that needs to be filled. I'm not saying religion can't be good. But, like addiction, if you are giving up your entire life for this one thing as opposed to living your life by giving up this one thing...then you are addicted.

Notice there’s no citation for this quote. You don’t cite quotes that someone pulled out of their ass. Now, back to the subject at hand. Your “spiritual immune system” is absolutely not related to your physical immune system. The concept of a spiritual immune system has to do with religious faith, and neither the COVID vaccine, nor the anti-vax movement. In fact, one of the texts on the subject, “Strengthening Your Spiritual Immune System”, written by Rev. Trilby Murray {Deacon} (ECW Chaplain), plainly states at its conclusion “Please continue to follow social distancing guidelines, wear your mask and wash your hands. This is one of those places where they took a grain of truth and extrapolated it beyond all reason. There is good evidence that people who are deficient in Vitamin D are more likely to have a worse outcome from respiratory diseases, not just Covid. That doesn't mean that Vitamin D prevents or cures Covid. It just means that this pandemic was a particularly bad time to be Vitamin D deficient. The fact that it's harmful to be deficient doesn't mean that supplementing when you're not does anything helpful. And, as others are pointing out, it is dangerous to take massive doses of it. That is so for all sorts of vitamins.

BTW, Karen Kingston worked for Pfizer for 2 1/2 years (June ‘96 to November ‘98) in SALES, not research. I have had both doses of the vaccine for many months now, and I'm feeling fine. I don't know any vaxxed individual that is feeling any of these bulls-hit side effects claimed by these antivaxx dumb dumbs. When will they wake up? This felt like a spin on the crazy ferris wheel. I mean seriously. I know a few of these folks in real life. I don't converse with them about anything political, religious,or vaccine related. Because they don't realize that the crazy just fires right on out of them like silly string any time someone even says "Vaccine". Try it. Stand in a bunch of people now days and just, with a buddy, say it louder than you normally would. I flat guarantee that you will have the reverse joy of a dance flash mob in seconds. Just got my booster. Thank you.

It reminds me of the fools I knew in college (late'60s - early '70s) who became self-appointed "Know-it-alls" when it came to interactions of vitamin supplements and LSD or Weed. In all to just listen to this babbling would have made great material for National Lampoon or other such humor magazines...
