2020 Wedding Photography Awards Have Been Announced, Here Are The Best 25 Photos Taken During The Pandemic
Coronavirus has taken its toll on all of us and has seen hundreds of thousands of weddings either postponed, canceled, or pared back to minimal guest numbers. The stress and disappointment this must have caused to brides and grooms throughout the world is quite unfathomable—and it has also had a massive effect on those working in the wedding industry.
Wedding photographers have indeed been hit hard, with many of their livelihoods now at risk; many who normally shoot 25 or more weddings a year have now been facing the reality of maybe only a handful, or even less.

Yes. So she doesn't accidentally infect her grandfather.
Load More Replies...But it's not all doom and gloom: During this time, some weddings have still been able to go ahead. Maybe they haven't been the grand-scale events that the couples once envisaged—or maybe they had been planning on eloping anyway!—but either way, people in love have been getting married, and photographers have been doing what they always do: Capturing the moments for them.
Because that's what we celebrate at “This is Reportage”: the real, un-staged and un-posed moments—documentary wedding photography at its very best.

That's a Rocky pose right there! Full of triumph and 'I won the whole thing!'

Certainly not the way it was planned. Almost everyone having to watch via Zoom (thank goodness for technology!), heartbroken that family and extended family couldn’t be there in person, and hearing everyone’s well wishes and seeing their tears without the benefit of hugs and closeness normally associated with a traditional wedding. This will be a day you never forget, and with photos like this captured by such an amazing photographer, it will be cherished forever.
"Sorry you couldn't be here, thank you so much for coming virtually!!"
Our Awards regularly see over 12,000 submissions, and all the following images represent just the top few percent that have been awarded by our judges (a changing group of world-class photographers themselves) over the past few months, during these Covid-19 times.

I'm guessing the child lives with them...so breathing their air is something he does daily.

Our Reportage Awards are for those very best individual captures, and you'll also see some images from our Story Awards, which are for a series of 15-20 images of a single wedding.
So, though it's been—and still is—possibly the worst imaginable year for the wedding world, we present 25 incredible documentary captures that show that love and weddings won't be stopped by coronavirus.

I think it's ironic that the social distancing sign is also in this pic! (But it is a lovely, candid wedding photo).
They are braking social distancing laws. shame on them. even ice cream is is keeping their distance.
Don't judge and you not be judged. They are persons who until now believe on governments lies ...

Yes it would. A face shield has to be accompanied by a mask. At least then the breath is more "filtered."
Load More Replies...Face shields are to protect you from people spitting on you for example. They do not do anything at all against covid. Been tested time and again, all test results say the same, whatever comes out of your mouth pretty much leaves the shild immediately To make matters worse, it gives people a false sense of security. They think they're good, but meanwhile possibly (and probably) spreading the virus all around without being aware
There was an article about Covid and how it spread ... the Covid virus particles are heavier than oxygen , so they fall down pretty quickly . So if they were far enough away , the shield would be fine
"Fairly quickly" is incorrect. A face shield protects one's own eyes to some degree. It is NOT intended to protect others from particles one exhaled. And masks with exhalation valves are designed only to limit particles getting in (commonly, construction-type particles). The whole idea is to allow air to leave easily, which makes it easier to breathe, and is great when only particles coming in are of concern.

I'm not sute because they are definitely separated by more than one row and also appear to be far apart from each other when they're closer...

Super happy about all of these!! Clearly people actually DO care about getting the virus. All I have seen are news reports and such of people refusing to wear masks and follow protocols

I love how even though barely anyone could come, they still made the place as fancy as they wanted
Phil Voon, Ireland

There was a short period of time in Belgium where people were allowed to have rather large "social bubbles", meaning they could have close contact with about 10 people, but always those same ones. That measure has been replaced with stricter measures in the meantime, but who knowns, it could have been during that period.

Now this is more like it, the new social order, no kissing, no holding hands and everyone is wearing masks. All to protect the old and vulnerable. Now this is a bunch of caring people for our safety. Bravo to them. Now get back home and stay there until a vaccine comes out and the Governments of the world says it's safe.
