I don't it's possible that this is a replica because all of the finds on that beach are vintage/antique. This find was buried in the sea mud when I found it. I doubt someone in Slovenia would buy a replica and throw it into the sea. Also, you can see signs of wear and tear of age on it.

Fun fact: in Tanzania (which was colonized by the Germans), money is still referred to as "hela" which is derived from "heller", because in the German colonial days the currency was the "heller".

They checked how the bottle was made (the neck, the shape, the bubbles inside etc.) anything that would indicate the age and also they looked at the glass stamp. Because the glass stamp doesn't have the words "I. R. Priv. Prem." they knew it was definitely made before 1850s.
