With the majority of people still under lockdown, the animals are probably wondering where we've all gone. Maybe it's for this reason that they're coming into cities and parks, roaming the streets, and carefully investigating our surroundings. Foxes, deer, wild boars, and other types of wildlife have been spotted on numerous occasions in various urban areas around the world. Therefore, Bored Panda has made you a list of instances where people have observed local wildlife reclaiming the territories of those urban areas. So scroll down below to see them all and share in the comments down below whether you have spotted an animal wandering down your street or even through your backyard!

A pride of lions in South Africa taking a nap on the road by one of Kruger National Park's lodges
Spokesman for Kruger National Park Isaac Phaala told the BBC that the lions usually sleep in the bushes, but are "very smart and now they are enjoying the freedom of the park without us."
The lions in Kruger often do this because the road surface is warmer.
I have seen this myself way before Covid 19. They like it especially when the sun warms the road in the early cold mornings.
Now they are enjoying their freedom, because of the absence of the wild humans.
First wolf in a century is spotted in Normandy after once being hunted to extinction
A person living in Londinières, Normandy shared the photos of the wolf roaming about. Experts at the French Biodiversity Office said it was "probably a grey wolf."
How amazing! I wonder if he came from a neighbouring country that has them? How did the wolf get there? Awesome
They hide extremely well. Lots of places have them still after thinking they "got rid of all of them". Wolves are still a misunderstood species! Without wolves, coyotes and other predators we would be over run by critters that spread disease and/or destroy our crops.
Load More Replies...Whenever I read "hunted to extinction" it always just makes me feel really sad. Glad to see wildlife recovering, really glad.
It looks like a dog, how to be sure, it is a wolf, I have great shots of wolf from a zoo, but not sure if I see a wolf here, are there stray dogs in the area !!!
Sea turtles in Florida are finally thriving
Loggerhead Marinelife Center reported: "So far this season our beaches have a total of 79 nests, 76 leatherbacks and 3 loggerheads!" As CBS Miami informs, these numbers are significantly higher than usual.
I think we should close the beaches entirely, or at least a big portion of them, during their nesting time and until the babies are safely out to sea.
I was around the nesting sights once, and I totally agree. Any sort of man-made light will mess them up, including phones, when the sun's going down/night. The turtle nests are on the beach and surrounded by a little bit of fencing to tell people to not harm them, but of course there's gonna be that one jerk who wants photos or smth. People really mess up the beaches wildlife, too. I saw a bunch of people crowding a terrified little crab for pictures once, thankfully I kinda corralled the little dude back to the ocean because he was getting dried out and attacked by sea birds due to people.
Load More Replies...Earth: God I wish there were less people and more animals here! Covid19: Let me oblige
Extremely pleased to hear this, however, with some fisherman, that leave nets in the ocean, turtles and others get tangled and die, I think they are the illegal fisherman, do this !!!
Foxes use humans' garden to raise their cubs
"Two foxes have decided to take advantage of the UK lockdown and use my friend's garden to raise their cubs," writes the redditor who shared the video.
My grandma lives in England and foxes like to steal her slippers and door mat through the cat flap
funny little things- didn't know they used doormats and wore slippers lol
Load More Replies...Hey guys, I have a beautiful garden that is always protected, come on over, Crud, foxes can't read. Oh well.
This isn't anything new. In our last home a family of cubs was raised every year in next door's garden. The downside is that if a fox decides to poo on something you own you will have to throw it out because that stink will never, ever leave. We now live in a rural village and never, ever see a fox. They are nothing like urban foxes!
THIS IS LOVELY I WISH I HAD THE KIND OF GARDEN THAT ANIMALS COULD COME INTO
But, aren't the poeple using their garden, in all this beautiful weather?
Two deer strut down the street of Boissy-Saint-Leger, a suburb of Paris, France
Watch the video here.
This just shows how much Human Impact effects these beautiful creatures!
Normally seen only in parks, deer were noticed in residential areas of London
These were spotted in East London on April 8, 2020.
These posts are great reminders, we don't live alone & should respect even what we can't see
This is True They come from The Manor Lovely to see Hope they keep safe
Apparently this isn't entirely true, according to people who live there, there are deer there all the time. Maybe more of them and bolder now though
I have no idea why people downvoted you so here's an upvote

They've built so far up into the canyons that this isn't surprising at all.
Popular among tourists, the beach of Ventilla, Mexico is now packed with crocodiles
At the moment, the government of Mexico has forbidden visiting the beaches.
This is a a beach in La Ventanilla, Oaxaca, Mexico. It was killing me that I couldn't find a Ventilla Mexico so I reverse searched for the image. https://www.unotv.com/noticias/estados/oaxaca/detalle/cocodrilos-regresan-a-playas-de-oaxaca-la-historia-real-de-esta-foto-viral-120485/?fbclid=IwAR39IovoNJ5zwDr44vN-P2PUUD3aSNqEC3b2Oa0H5gJCKPT-6tlQzjc-_Mg
They forgot to mention the tourists who were there when the crocodiles started assembling...
In the town of Bacalar, Mexico, usually flooded with tourists, an otter was spotted
For years, nobody has seen otters in this area. Watch the video here.
It's not because they aren't there, it's because we forced them away!
Wild boars take over the streets in Haifa, Israel
The residents are worried and anxious, and don't feel very safe even when taking out the trash.
These animals are dangerous and people are right to be very cautious around them, especially since they're likely to be feeling very bold now, what with the lack of humans.
Boar Leader: "We get in and out the city as quick as. Grab the essentials only" Nigel the boar: "Nutella is essential in my life right now".
Well, on the plus side, one boar has good taste as evidenced by the jar of Nutella it nabbed!
They won't bother anyone unless they are bothered by people. Good stay indoors enforcers.
Lions are patrolling Skukuza village in South Africa
"Lions patrolling Skukuza Staff Village enforcing #SALockdown this morning," the post on Twitter says. "Skukuza, situated on the southern banks of the Sabie River, is the park's largest rest camp and administrative headquarters."
Well, they’re taking their chance to patrol the staff village as a way of returning the favor to the staff for patrolling their lion villages!
The Neighbourhood Watch group on their rounds making sure the humans stay indoors.
No, this is complete manipulation of news as Skukuza is a rest camp in Kruger National Park where you can see animals all the time. It's not weird you can see them there.
Black Bears in Yosemite National Park
"Though there hasn't been an increase in their population since the park closure," the post on Yosemite National Park Twitter said, "bears have been seen more frequently than usual."
Do you know that hunters drag mother bears and their cubs out of their dens and gun them down, having wonderful time.
I remember seeing bears when we went camping in Yosemite. You just got to pay attention. They're there.
Deer feed In Yosemite Valley
At this time of the year, Yosemite National Park is usually packed with tourists; therefore, the animals don't usually emerge as there can "literally be walls of cars, stop-and-go traffic or people in the park," park's ranger said.
It´s kinda sad that our cars that come to see the animals block them from living in their home.
Not just the cars. The obnoxious tourists trying to snap selfies by intruding on the animals’ space.
Nice to see that animals will thrive if humans ever become extinct...
I remember seeing dear when we went camping in Yosemite. You just got to pay attention. They're there.
Coyote wanders around Curry village In Yosemite valley
I've stayed in them! they're tent-cabins, with concrete floors, cots, and a wood-stove for heat. a nice step up from tent camping :)
Load More Replies...I lived in one of those 30 years ago when I worked in Yosemite for the summer. They’re called tent cabins. They were surprisingly sturdy, they even had gas heaters.
Some staff live in them year round. Don't believe these posts about Yosemite. I lived there as staff. It's like living in Eden, part of that is living beside the wildlife that is very much always there.
It is going to suck for them - and the environment when we resume polluting and ravaging the planet
Even if the National Parks are only closed for one summer, I think it will help them heal and rejuvenate.
Hard to lose that revenue though. But I agree 100%!
Load More Replies...I see wild animals all the time. The thing is, I find everybody is too busy rushing around to notice. Me? I've disabled with a chronic disease & have to move slow. You all are now living at my speed. Look at sunsets too. They are spectacular!
For decades there have been several urban tribes of Kangaroo living openly in Canberra, Australia. Some scientist have been tracking them, and they don't really travel outside the suburbs except to goto the local golf course.
Solution: Quarantine protesters: let them go free and lick toilets. Healthcare workers: go home and take a well-deserved rest. Animals will thrive!
These are cool but it will never last. I just hope they know to get out of harms way when thing resume.
We like to think we're very important!...And look at us: a little sneeze from Mother Nature, just a tiny little virus, and She already begins to take back what, anyway, belongs to Her..We're just dust in the wind, and almost all we know to do is destroy. So maybe we really needed a little lesson of environmental behavior.
We are the virus to the animals and planet. They are all better off without us.
When we go back to destroying the planet and taking the world back from the animals, I think we will have animal attacks in many National Park places. The animals having just taken to having more land and people thinking we can act the same as before. Somones going to be eaten or badly hurt.
I hope it won't be the innocent ones. This planet needs many, undisturbed wild places and reservations, not just parks, or humanity will drown in its own waste, before it completely destroy all life.
