Husband Rips Apart Panic Buyers In A Powerful Facebook Post After His Wife Came Back From Work In Tears
Panic buyers are storming shops to stockpile on pretty much everything from toilet paper to condoms. As they fight for the items on the shelves, they often forget that those who refill them are humans, too.
Retail workers are already talking about the abuse they have to endure at work, but it looks like the situation isn’t getting any better. After Tesco employee Angela Breathet came back from her shift, she was in floods of tears. She told her husband Allan about being shouted at, called names, and treated with no respect whatsoever.
Fed up with all the selfishness in the midst of a pandemic, Allan penned a powerful Facebook post, highlighting why we have to remain decent human beings. It’s sad the public needs to be reminded of this, but let it be a wake-up call for all of us. Scroll down to read what the man had to say, and tell us if you agree with his thoughts in the comments.

“Too many people have been watching 28 Days Later and thinking we’re going to run out of food, it’s just got a wee bit out of hand,” Allan, from Inverness, Scotland, told Mirror. “My wife came home on Sunday from work – she’s worked at Tesco for 25 years now and she’s worked Christmases and New Years and she’s never seen anything like it in her life.”
Usually, Angela comes home and says ‘how are you doing?’ That day she just came in and when he asked her how she was he could tell by her misdemeanor that something was very wrong. “She just looked at me, walked straight past me, went into the bedroom and just lay on the bed. I asked ‘are you ok?’ and she just started crying, nobody should come home from work like that.
The kids were wondering what was wrong with their mom as well, so Allan tried to explain to them that people were jerks to her and her friends at work. “They asked why? And said ‘mum’s not done anything wrong.'”
Allan pointed out that people working at stores are just trying to serve the public and do their best. “To be called names, be shouted at and blamed for these things is past a joke.”
He said the Facebook post was just a rant, and he can’t believe how it’s taken off, with more than 165,000 shares. “Everybody who has commented has been so supportive. All I wanted was for people, when they go shopping, to be kind and don’t be aggravated.”
Here’s how people responded to Allan’s post
Just reading it, I can feel how frustrated and angry he must be. Some jerk customers need to learn that the world doesn't revolve around them!
That is where you are wrong, it does revolve around them, at least THEY believe it does! We have done this to ourselves, we make it so easy to complain behind the curtain of social media that it also spills out into "real life" and people come out with bile that years ago they just wouldn't have said.
Load More Replies...To those people who are acting crazy in Costco, Tesco, Sam's, and everywhere else: those employees are doing their jobs and don't deserve your tantrums and yelling. Treating the workers like c**p only shows what kind of prick that you are. You do not need all of these things that bad.
Things are bad here too in North London. My local newsagent is staying open as long as they can. I saw one of the owners wiping the counter with a baby wipe! Asking him why, he replied 'they took it all, I just managed to get one hand sanitiser for us.' I like a bargain so when my favourite anti-bac came on sale almost a year ago I bought three. Have a full one and a quarter of another so gave him my full one. Bless them they wiped down the counters, front parts and the card machine. So much consideration for others and their locals that they didn't think of themselves.
I cringe everytime I hear someone say "people are basically good". That is such BS. People are basically animals that will do anything and everything to survive. This crisis just proves it.
These are the people that will turn tail and run when a real fight comes to them. They will desert their comrades in order to self-preserve, and intentionally miss shots fired at the enemy because they don't have the cajones to take another life, even if that other person is trying to kill them. They will eat your lunch out of the company refrigerator, and when the s**t really hits the fan they will sneak in under cover of night and steal your food and rape your wives and daughters. They cut you off while driving on the highway, kick you when you're down, and pour the milk in the bowl before the cereal.

I worked retail and people can be rude. Pandemic is bringing out the worst in people. I'm glad her husband defend her. I appreciate all the public service workers and all you rude people better think twice about how you treat them, your life might depend on one of them.
Denmark has an easy solution. The first item is the regular price. The second one cost $150. End of problem.
"Panic buyers are storming shops to stockpile on pretty much everything from toilet paper to condoms." I'm glad they're stocking up on birth control so these panicky, easily-manipulated people don't breed and produce more gullible consumers.
The shops should have put a limit on how many of each item people can buy. Years ago I worked in Tesco putting the reduced labels on things, people were like savages. I was like the pied piper with the pricing gun.
If i saw that as a customer, I don't think I would be able to just stand by and let that happen. Probably would end up going to jail for it, but I cannot stand by and let another human being have to be treated that way
Always, always, ALWAYS treat retail workers (and other service workers) with respect. I don't understand this 'I'm better than you' mentality when it comes to people's occupations. People work so that they have a roof over their head, and food on the table. Without service workers, society would fall apart, especially now. So be grateful that they are continuing to work so that YOU can get what you need, stay in a clean environment, get where you need to go, and get the medical treatment you need.
I think that supermarket management needs to limit how much people can buy!! My local Walmart does! Why is that so hard??!! And people are selfish, bottom line. Not all people, but most are mindless, selfish idiots.
the problem is that a few people panic buy like its the apocolypse, and then everyone else is forced to buy a ton, not in fear of the corona but in fear of not having access to essential items because of the few panic buyers, and it has a ripple affect.
... 'and then everyone else is Forced to buy a Ton' ..NO they're NOT!! what utter bullpoop! you cannot justify greedy selfish behaviour ..try as you may!

I believe most of the hoarders have seen an opportunity once the shelves were emptied to now line their pockets selling to the highest bidder. There are more turds out there than toilet paper can deal with.
Wow, I haven't seen anything like this where I live, although they have started limiting the quantities that people are allowed to buy. Some of the concessions my usual grocery has made: they no longer charge for plastic bags, if you bring cloth you have to bag it yourself, and they have a special early morning one-hour shop for the elderly and immune compromised. They also scan our points cards with a hand held scanner to avoid touching them.
Amen. My son works as a manager at a grocery store - while he also goes to school full time to get his teacher credential so he can teach high school - and he has three babies at home, ages 5,3 and 1. He risks his health and the health of his family daily. He strips outside the house and bags his clothes, taking them straight to the laundry.
Anyone being abusive, either verbally or physically should be immediately kicked out the shop and banned without any shopping.
Tell your we really appreciate her i understand im a cashier it csn be diigusting how people have been through this Tell her to hang in there i totally understand everything There is nice people caring people out there Thank God
I am a 17 year old girl, and I work in a grocery store and my job rn is to organize and to sanitize. I have also been yelled at and called names at work. I have had full blown panic attacks at work because of stuff like this. I come home from work emotionally exhausted, and I'm an extrovert! Usually being around people gives me energy! I'm only 17 and I can't do any thing about the stock or people panic buying. People are using the most vulnerable people they see to unleash their anger on, (like a 5 ft 2 girl) and it's not ok.
Such stupid, nasty people, getting in a panic because they're too thick to overcome their animal instincts. And then you see photos of all the wasted food piled outside their bins because they were too f******* stupid to work out that they couldn't eat that much once it went past the use by date. The greedy idiocy of some people beggars belief.
Why isn't there a limit being placed on items sold. I only happened to find hand sanitizer at a store not only because it was marked up a bit there was also a limit of 4 per customer.
I worked in retail for over 20 years the abuse I received was shocking, I eventually learned to walk away calmly and refuse to serve them, most of them stood there speechless and some would call the manager and then they dealt with it.
Woe betide the irrational. I salute these troopers. Here in the US, we all have guns. I'm just waiting for the next news story to list homicide in a check-out lane... *smh* -Dr M
Crazy how people are acting I know Im a cashier I really feel for your wife i reaaly dont want to go to work this week for all the reasons but i will because there is still some nice caring people out there i have seen them
Pure. selfish behavior of these people who engage in this pathetic manner towards all the hardworking and dedicated staff who are providing an essential service to the public .in these dark and difficult times .I fully agree with this gentlemen’s rant it s very unpleasant to see someone you love in tears after a days work . people should show respect and consideration for all staff .they have their own worries and fears to deal with without dealing with this loutish behavior .i wish to send my ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️to all the frontline staff in the retail health and across all sectors who are continuing to provide essential services to the public .To these people who act with loutish behavior in any shape or form😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎😡😡🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮I finally say to this gentleman who had this rant you are well within your rights I applauded and salute you in highlighting this cruel behavior against your wife and her colleagues

That's terrible, but why don't the staff let the customers shout abuse all the way up the queue and when it gets to that abusive customer refuse to serve them and get security to throw them out without their shopping, am sure that will teach them.
Wife of a police officer over here. I've been feeling this man's anger for years.
Does "misdemeanor" mean something different in England? In USA it means crime....
