‘I’m Sure I’d Feel The Same Way If I Was A Skinny White Girl’: Person Attacks A Girl With Acne, Gets Put In Their Place Immediately
A survey done on adolescents with acne showed that most teenagers (64%) who have it felt embarrassed by it. A whopping 7 in 10 teenagers with acne reported they have much lower self-confidence than their peers, and more than 4 in 10 said it makes it difficult to find a date.
For many teens, uncovering their cystic acne on social media would be truly traumatizing. And one brave teenage girl did just that. She shared a beautiful selfie revealing her acne with a caption “Reminder that acne doesn’t make you ugly. A Heart Full Of Hate Does.”
But the internet is full of trolls, and one of them couldn’t keep their mouth shut. In return, the prick got murdered by words big time.

But the bully couldn’t miss a chance to criticize her
And people shut him down immediately
Bored Panda reached out to Dr. Liz Dawes-Higgs, a professional dermatologist who runs an established practice in Northbridge, Sydney. She is a national examiner for the Australasian College of Dermatologists, and has been awarded with the Scheering-Plough Award for her research in the field.
Liz explained that contrary to the popular opinion, acne can be a very big deal for many patients. “It has a large effect on the daily life of an adolescent, particularly self esteem.”
Moreover, “It seems almost cruel that acne develops at an age when we are just learning about our own self-confidence and starting to understand all about where we fit in the world.”
Many people shared how hard it was for them and their loved ones to live with acne

The dermatologist also said that in terms of being teased for having acne at school, one should view it as “a question about resilience, which is always a great skill to develop.”
Having said that, Liz added that “once acne starts, it can be slow to treat so there may be some time where acne is present, even when you are doing the best that you can to treat it.” She urges people to seek advice early—and it can never be too early.

Most importantly, acne sufferers should remember that it’s treatable, so don’t give up hope. “There are lots of options of treatment for acne so a dermatologist is in the best position to develop a plan that is tailored to you.”
A common mistake that Liz advises against is to not spend lots of money on expensive quick-fix cures over the internet, “as they will only make a big hole in your pocket.”
The right treatment should aim “to control excessive oil production, reduce skin bacteria, and unclog pores.” It can come in a range of options, depending on how severe your acne is, and includes creams, gels, tablets, peels, and lasers.
And this is what others had to comment
"She's 17 and you're 27." How pathetic does your life have to be, as an adult, you have to go out of your way to shame a TEENAGER?
Bone Daddy...they weren't just repeating what was said. They were quoting what was said and giving their opinion on that quote. Don't be such a d**k

You can take all the time you need to come up with an insult to post and be on your way again searching for your next victim. The companies running these sites, should be more responsive to reports of abuse and bullying, but it seems like they really do not care. Wouldn't be surprised if they ignore the trolls to get more people to comment. More visitors is more money out of the ads.
I never thought about it this way. It would make sense that social media welcomes trolls so that others can rally against them. A symbiotic relationship. That is a bit scary.

That is true for most but not all. I am 36 and still need to see a dermatologist for my acne.
Load More Replies...It's so weird to me how people feel the need to comment on hair and eye color by mentioning how that's a clue that you're good looking? I mean, what does that have to do with anything? There are PLENTY of people with blonde hair who are quite plain looking (myself included). Blonde hair does not automatically equal incredibly attractive looking. Its just hair (or eyes) but you need to look at the rest of the face first.
She's a beautiful girl. I wonder why the troll hates himself so much he has to go after others he perceives as weaker.
This young lady is beautiful, strong, and brave. I have had acne for about 50 years. I can't even calculate how much money I've spent on products and treatments. As a teen my father would get very frustrated because my mom would buy me all types of products and my father would say, "you just need to use plain bar soap". Not! I still get incidents of cystic acne which is ugly, painful, and takes forever to clear. I have spent a lot of my life hiding because of this, have missed out on a lot, and spent a whole lifetime being self conscious and stressed. I give her, and others like her, so much credit and wish I had this kind of role model growing up. Anyone who bullies her or anyone, does so because ththey are weak
Continued: insecure, jealous, and just a nasty person.

This is NOT a plug for a product. I had acne until I was in my late 30s. Finally tried ProActive because it promised a refund if it didn't work. Nothing else had ever promised me a refund. I ordered it and within 3 weeks of using it as instructed, I was acne free. I used it for about a year and then slowly wound down. Now I get the occasional zit, but nothing I can't put toothpaste on and make it go away. Sometimes it takes trying something different than what the Dr. ordered.
Proactive didn't even work for me. Neither did differin gel. I had to go on acutane aka SERIOUS stuff. I was about 15 at the time and a virgin but docs basically said DO NOT get pregnant or your kid might have 5 arms and 2 heads

I have horrible acne on my back and upper arms. I would consistently wear sleeves to cover up because I was afraid of men judging me. This year I somewhat broke my mental system. Due to many men in my family having a negative impact on their wives, I became afraid of the idea of marriage (this is just a personal experience, I know not all men are sexist and racist, it is simply my side of the family that makes me very cautious). So somehow my brain managed to trick me. "I'm no longer looking for a male partner" somehow turned me into "I don't need to worry about anyone's opinions anymore." I'm 23 and for the first time in ten years I periodically wear tank tops. It sounds so ridiculous, for such ridiculous reasons, and yet this kind of anxiety happens for a lot of people.
Acne sucks. It actually was the only issue that I cared about ... sincerly, I didn't give a f**k about how I look, but acne - although not true - screams something along the lines of "immature" and "hygiene issues". I know this isn't true ... I also know it is seen as if. In case it's really a bad case - Isotretinoin worked wonders on me. Almost away since, like 11 or 12 years .. or 13, I don't remember when I used that stuff. But I can't just give advice on that, whoever feels the need to get rid of acne, talk to your dermatologist! There's almost no one they can't help nowadays.
I feel for her. I have been able to keep my cystic acne down with 3 capsules of spearmint tea in the morning & evening. I couldn't believe something actually worked, since I've tried so many things. Antibiotic ointment under my makeup & brushing medicated powder to make it not greasy worked on my face when I was younger. The sun can help too, but then you'll have wrinkles & skin cancer.
I'm almost 50 and currently have 5 zits on my face!! I have had more acne in the adult years than as a teen!! Why make a point of being as asshat to someone who is trying to see the positive side of her life!! People have become so rude and so mean it's ugly
having had horrible acne i can still see the scars of 30 odd years later i feel sorry for her. of course some f*****g mongoloid had to make it about hating white people. f*****g had enough of this s**t now.

I had horrible cystic acne in my early 20s and it made me SO self-conscious. I was embarrassed to go out in public. I wanted to wear a bag over my head. And it was physically very painful. God, stop s******g on people for trying to make other people feel a little bit better about themselves.
Acne, use to get it almost everywhere. A lot to do about it was hormones, stress levels, hygiene and diet. After 3-4 decades of struggling with it it's finally calmed down. Regular bowels, probiotic diet-healthy gut and a pretty acne free. Only the occasional one due to stress but nothing like a pizza face or pussy lumps on the back of the teen twenty years.
People need to learn to look past what is a temporary medical problem. When the acne clears up, she's going to be stunning.
she's gorgeous, omg. i also have acne, but not super bad, but even when it was worse i didn't really care. i've never worn much makeup because i can't be bothered.
I feel sorry for any teenager that suffers from acne. I didn't have hardly any problems with acne growing up. My wife says she did, but got through it. Neither of our two sons had any problems to speak of, I guess they inherited my skin type. I had friends in public school that when they hit a certain age, broke out badly. Some had to be treated with regular trips to a dermatologist. I found out that some people will scar badly, based on their skin type and some will not.
When I was a teenager, for some reason I was blessed to get through that phase with virtually no acne at all. I did have friends who were not so lucky and some were scarred for life, but not once did I EVER make a disparaging remark about the way they looked. I came to find out later that my mom never suffered hardly at all when she was a teenager. All the kinfolks on her side of the family said that I had her skin and complexion. Both my sons also got through puberty and into their teenage years without suffering from badly blemished skin.
Thats just rude. She probably can't help how her lips look.
