576 Border Collies Get Together In One Place To Break A World Record
A single dog can instantly turn a disastrous day into a fabulous one just by looking at you. Australians were fortunate enough to witness what 576 could do. That’s how many Border Collies got together in a park in Willaston, attempting to break the record of most Border Collies in one place.
The event that looked like heaven on Earth was organized by the Border Collie Owners of South Australia group. It raised over $6,000 for charity and shattered the previous record of 503 dogs that TV veterinarian Dr. Katrina Warren arranged in 2013.
The Guinness Book of World Records, however, does not acknowledge benchmarks relating to specific breeds. But this didn’t stop collie-lovers and the K9s themselves from having a blast during the colossal gathering where no cats were invited.

Share on FacebookPlease, please city dwellers, DO NOT make these beautiful animals trendy. They are NOT suited to most peoples' lives. They are smarter than you. No, seriously, they are. They get bored easily and will look for trouble. Border Collies are very much a working breed and they NEED to work. ... They are VERY athletic and require more exercise every day than a marathoner. Sitting all day in a city apartment would drive them bananas. .... PLEASE to not let the Kennel Club turn these wonderful dogs into inbred idiots, as they've already done to Red Setters, Cocker Spaniels, and pugs. All of these breeds have been deformed and ultimately destroyed by breeding for looks. Don't let's go there.
I support you 100%. Some people only search for a dog that looks good or cute and etc. But such irresponsible human beings wouldn't know what hit them if they get a border collie. I don't have any personal experience with border collies but I've met other herding breeds and I own a corgi. Those people had been warned by me as well: herding dogs are smart. VERY SMART. EXTREMELY SMART. If they don't find a way to entertain and exercise their dog as well as training it, it'd train them instead.
Load More Replies...When it was time to leave, did all of them start running around the entire crowd to keep them together?
LOL!! Omg I'd just taken a bite of food when I read that...it almost got real gross here at my house.
Load More Replies...as someone who has lived with a border collie all i can think is (so much energy in one place)
Too bad they had to be on leashes. If they weren't, you'd see 576 balls of fur moving at light speed.
Load More Replies...Probably, a true herding dog would do exactly this!
Load More Replies...Our border collies always got along well with cats. They played together, and when it was cold out, they shared the dog house - which had R60 insulation and three feather duvets.
Load More Replies...Take me there right now oh my gosh why didn't I hear about that?! Seems like heaven!
My initial thought was 576 dogs LOOSE together in a park? Amazing... but they are all tethered, which is probably best, who would have herded who??
is this how heaven looks like? I had a border collie mix, when I was about 6. We bought it for 10$ at the door of a supermarket, they told us it would be small, it wasnt. Eventually we had to find him a new home, he kept biting me like I was his sheep.
576 Border Collies come together to create a slice of heaven on Earth.
They really are lovely dogs. And yes, they do need a huge amount of stimulation and exercise. Google "One Man And His Dog" to see just how dmart sheepdogs are. You'll be astounded.
Ha, and after this field transform in "russian street's", where the dog's s**t is everywhere...... - Here the dogowners doesn't clean at their dog's, and when came spring and snow is melting, we have a very awsome pictures of street's......... S**T is averywhere.....
So true. Dog owners are the worst. Only cigarette smokers are worst than them.
