The Museo Atlantico is the first underwater museum to open in Europe! After Mexico or the Bahamas, artist Jason deCaires Taylor has indeed begun installing sculptures underwater in the Canary Islands off the coast of the island of Lanzarote. This fascinating underwater museum will for now consists of two monumental works, entitled The Raft of Lampedusa The Rubicon, both poignant tributes to migrants and refugees. The underwater sculptures of this Museo Atlantico, submerged in 15 meters of water, will be accessible to divers and snorkelers.
