Invention ideas for kids it's not something that we usually see in our grown-up world, but it turns out, that some of the little humans have even greater imaginations than us, adults. British designer and inventor Dominic Wilcox asked over 450 children across Sunderland and South Tyneside, UK, to come up with ideas for crazy inventions. Then, he chose around 60 ideas of 600 submitted drawings and presented them to local makers that could help with manufacturing.
The kids were invited to explain their selected inventions themselves. The makers had only four weeks to produce real-life objects, making sure that they created exactly what the kids wanted. The project was called "INVENTORS!"
"The children were the stars, and I gained so much pleasure seeing them getting excited about their and other peoples' ideas," Wilcox told Bored Panda. "Instead of just putting the drawings on the fridge door as most adults do with a child’s drawings, why not push the ideas as far as they can go?" states the project’s website. "Taking the power of children’s imaginations seriously and see where it leads to."
These genius kids have come up with ideas solving not only everyday problems but also more serious issues, such as wars and helping people with disabilities. Scroll down to see the amazing inventions for kids from kids themselves.

I am using it as my Writing Journal.
Load More Replies...The only way I could do that was if you had to do a lot more work and then you would be done by yourself so you would be fine and then I could just go home to you if I needed you and you could just come over here to help with her I just have no worries and you don’t want her in my room if I have to be there at that time so I could be
Tooth-O-Matic
Shady Lamp
Pringles Hook
Just slide a piece of paper vertically between the can and the chips, then turn the can on its side so the chips sit on the paper. Then slowly pull the paper out. The chips will ride the paper out with them.
The hook would come with the can, you could make them cheaply enough. Tilting the can means making a mess. I think this is a brilliant idea.
Its a not a good idea because what if they fall or you dont want to eat all of them then the hook is uneccesary.
Load More Replies...Are u serious? Did you think of this how can you get the Pringles out without the Pringle hook?
Food Cooler
I love this! :) I'm going to show this my 8y son, he will like it very much! :D
I could have used this for my dinner last night instead of burning my tongue!
Family Scooter
It'd stop the kids zooming off all over the place
Load More Replies...Zip your mouth if you don't like it ! Please! She spent time on it!
Load More Replies...I can’t see what material you use to write in your presentation. What was the materials?
Leaf Catcher
nah, the nature isn't untidy. The loaf is necessary for the smallest animals during winter...
I agree, but for the trees in public places where the leaves are cleared away anyway - this would help make that job quicker and avoid the period before they are collected where wet leaves make the pavements slippy and dangerous for, for example, elderly people. The leaves could perhaps be left in there till after the winter and the animals could make the leaf holder their home? bugs could at least, perhaps not hedgehogs.
Load More Replies...I guess u just quitted some jobs off for the cleaners that cleaned the streets every day.
The Liftolator (War Avoider)
Its sad that kids have to think about that at all. But very creative though...
Self Waterer Plant Pot - S.W.P.P.
I think it's good for busy people, but it kinda takes away from the beauty of the plant to have a pump and bowl around it
This is awesome actually, I think one of the neatest things about gardening is watering your own plants but you have a good point, for busy people who want some green in their house this is awesome. And this definitely is someones hobby prototype, I mean literally all theyve done is gotten a raspberry pie and hooked it up to a pump and a jar with some water in it. Step 2, Print a plastic pot and put all the logic and the pump in the lining so its out of sight! Done! You could even print it in two pieces and give it a some threading so you can twist it apart to fill it with water / fix it if something breaks.
Load More Replies...Nice thinking! So whoever has this invention doesn’t have to water their plants every day.
Very clever and i wish this had more points but the bowl thingy just kind of takes away the nice look of the plant but good job though!
An inventor from Estonia already made this product some 10 years ago or so and it is being sold worldwide. It also looks prettu. https://eu.clickandgrow.com/
Ezy Slice Fryer (Instant Fries)

Why do you need this if you can’t see what’s in front of you?
We used to make these with an old box from foil or plastic wrap and two small mirrors. just cut a hole at the top and bottom on the same side and angle the mirrors inside, one at the top and one at the bottom so you can see out above your head. Still cool they thought of the idea from scratch though. :)
You have now became a stalker. Stalk as much as u want cuz this is ur invention.😊
The Paint Slatta Baby Sleeper
If you're cleaning (dishes, ovens, low cupdoards) or cooking, and you don't want to carry the baby it could be very functional. Especially in a small space where you can't put a playpen or a highchair
All the babies lives to be hold all the time this way they will have the feeling of standing at tge sane level if their mom witout breaking her back! Briliant!
That looks like a stupid squished flat banana invention that can hang a baby up on a wall. Are u serious can u just decorate it nicely?
Shout-Activated Camera
I like the addition of the multicoloured blob, true to original drawing :)
That is actually a great idea! It should be "Cheese"-activated! Only 4 1/2 as well!
LG phone cameras respond to "cheese", "LG", " kimchi", "whisky", and anything that sounds like it might have possibly been one of those words.

That looks like a catapult but made out of a 6-years old child hand-catapult will do.
Creakless Slippers
But, if you dispersed the weight enough, you could reduce the chances of the floorboards creaking.

Fab ideas, what imagination. First few were brilliant and I could see them being used. It got a bit James Bond-y towards the end, but great fun.
Some good ideas. Getting tng kids to think creatively is always a good idea
What struck me was the appalling handwriting of some of the older entrants. I know they all use technology now but surely handwriting should still be an important skill to be taught
You are missing the point. I'm 27 and my handwriting is s**t. They will be just fine. I would be worried for the 54 year old kid dough. It would have been so cool if his name was Benjamin.
Load More Replies...Liked almost all of them. The war one just made me feel sad. I'm not a kid (sorry, kid), but it's NOT a solution for life.
Just be thankful they CAN write. There are thousands of kids who, teachers and schools allow to "graduate" without ever learning the skill.
