Look up the current Yuki Adachi situation if you truly think Japan is this wonderful, happy country. The outside world usually only sees what they want foreigners to see.
I read that embassies of Slovenia and Slovakia are regularly exchanging mail delivered by mistake to other one. Not sure in which country, or even countries.
I actually see very few obese people around where I live. I hate guns and think people who drive trucks for some sort of ego boost instead of because they need them are jerks.
well, to be honest, they think they talk portuguese, just like quebec people think they talk french. Je sais de quoi je parle, je suis français d'origine portugaise.
I think most of us are pretty indifferent to them. I also think that whenever there's talk of scrapping the Monarchy, a lot of us look at what's going on elsewhere in the world and think, do we REALLY want a President?
As someone from a Commonwealth country I feel the same. I don't care for the royal family, but I also see the upside to having an Apolitical head of state.

England tried being a Republic, and that didn't turn out too well either as it quickly became a dictatorship.
Load More Replies...The millions of people who went to see the Queen lying in state and who regularly go to see them at events shows that they're still very popular. The Monarchy is mostly ceremonial these days.
john lydon was shocked when the rest of the pistols made jokes about the d***h of lizzy
A powerless Head of State leaves all of the power in the hands of the Head of government, the Prime Minister.
I can’t bear them. Corrupt, a***e enabling and unrepentant parasites whose only claim is that they were born into it. Having said that a President type sounds worse so I’ll stick with the devil we know. Just pare it back, get rid of the lower parasites and follow the example of Holland. Way more down to earth and connected to their citizens.
PS the tourism thing is a fallacy, their homes and castles bring in the people. If we opened up larger parts of their estates by getting rid of the myriad of hangers on then visitor numbers would increase. The family aren’t directly the attraction, their homes, history and traditions are the attraction.
Load More Replies...If we got shot of the Royals, we could have a president instead. Just think how good it would be to have President Farage. President Blair. President Rees Mogg.
In the film The Day After Tomorrow apparently the director was angry with Brits (bad reviews of a film? or just bad box office?) so he punished us by having a scene k*****g off the Queen. Um, okay. That’s like when Americans call us ‘Limeys’ and think we’re going to all start crying.
A lot of people really benefit from ceremony, and find comfort in tradition. The royals are good at that
Load More Replies...When our queen passed, we had nobody to turn to. Down vote all you want. Glad you American folks have the crazy Meg and Harry
Those two are rather meaningless to us and have zero impact on our lives. You got Ellen, so I guess it’s a fair trade.

While support is high among older generations (80% for over-65s), it is notably lower among younger people (30% to 37% of 18–24 year-olds).
And yet they bring more money into the economy via tourism than they cost.

I've lived there for 5 years and the only thing keeping me from officially moving there, was the bureaucracy. But now bureaucracy in my own country is so bad, that everything grinds to a halt here, that I'm actually reconsidering. I know the peculiarities of Italian bureaucracy, and prefer that over my own country's.
Maybe they think the people are running to get away from the wild animals.
There is a nasty element of racism and right-wing values in Australia. Anti-vaxxers, conspiracy theorists and Trump admirers are making things worse. We could well end up like the US if we're not careful
We germans joke that Bavaria is infact a foreign nation accidentally being part of Germany
So do you ride the camels to Pizza Hut, or is that just for delivery?
f**k off ya Vichy Scot. Darien was set up to fail, ppl were told to not do trade with us or suffer. as for the ppl carrying out atrocities, they were brtiscots. as for NI, Aye, they used sectarianism to divide ppl further. the occupied six counties should be returned to Ireland. the offspring of the invaders can go to London.

If UNICEF for example is to be believed, the current crisis comes with about 20 million people who suffer from starvation, mostly children. Do we better believe "Anonymous", a single "African from Sudan"?
The stereotype that India is some sort of dystopian hell for women and no woman can be happy there. Oh shush! India is a great place to live for all genders. While I admit there are some problems here, most other countries have these problems too so don’t go nitpicking and pointing at India only. On the other hand, one positive stereotype is about the food. It is very much true that India has amazing food. Plus, India’s cuisine is very accommodating to people of various allergies and food preferences. I have allergies and intolerances myself so Indian food is almost the only cuisine I can eat without being sick.
I was so in love with the food and the people, yeah we had a few shippy 💩 people but the majority were absolutely the loviest people!! I only hated one thing which was the noise and regular pollution 😖 wish it was allowed to post pictures of the sweetest people whom i took pics of (ALWAYS asked before taking!) the smiles ❤️

it's because people of certain groups tend to clump together. some people likely visited an area with a high sikh population and assumed that's what all of canada is like.
