Woman Posts Photo Of Absolute Worst Passenger To Be Seated Next To, And It Goes Viral
When Jessie Char saw her seat on her flight from Long Beach, CA to San Francisco, she thought she struck traveler gold, but then things took a turn…to the worst!
“I was flying home to San Francisco and was so excited when I realized I had the whole row to myself. I even left the armrests up so I could bask in my luxurious airplane bench,” Jessie told TODAY on Twitter. “A few minutes in, I heard one of the armrests fall down. I looked over, figuring the hinge was loose. At that moment I noticed a foot emerge, followed by another foot on the other side. The toes were in full wiggle.” As if that wasn’t bad enough, a while later Jessie saw that same person open and close her window, with her foot! If there’s one thing every traveler should know, it’s that you don’t touch plane windows that aren’t yours… Especially with your feet! “It was some combination of disgust and amazement,” Jessie said. I think we could all agree?

Permanent Markers for sure! Oh yeah! 😂
Load More Replies...Tweeting about it IS doing something about it in this case. We're a digital culture. How else are you gonna talk about and teach manners if not through the most massive digital communication platform?
Load More Replies...Flight crew should have seen this and made her move her feet. If not go and say something and have them come and tell her too. Why wouldn't you just do that? I would have if they were bothering me so much that I posted it online. Many people have no manners, feet up, hair everywhere, coughing and sneezing without covering, you're bound to see it on planes and buses so unless you want to put up I would report it to someone who can do something about it or ask the person directly.
Good idea. Hopefully I'm gonna visit my hometown in a few months, and it will be a 12 hour flight approximately. I haven't had bad experiences for now, but you never know.....

Why begin your comment with "woman"? That is extremely condescending. And we don't know what happened afterward. She might have actually done something about it. And no, she was not "bitching" about it, she was laughing about it.

You didn't call a flight attendant? I would have - instantly. This did happen once, although the person was wearing socks. I put the arm rest back down, and the idiot who shoved their foot through called a flight attendant and complained about me! She laughed in his face.
"Could you please get your feet out? Thank you" Problem solved" =)
IDK but I can tell you that "Jesus H Christ on a bicycle" is my new go-to saying!
I thought the same thing Wanda! For sure my new "Go to"
Load More Replies...If it bothered you so much, why didn't you either speak to the passenger or the flight attendant instead of tweeting about your nightmare experience? How bad was it if you just let it continue?
Because it is hard to believe someone would be that sickening.
Load More Replies...Hey Jessie, grow a pair and say something if it's a problem! You get no pity points for being WEAK.
Many people here have presented suggestions that could have corrected the problem, but that might not have been the goal. By taking pictures and posting them she got nationwide publicity which was quite possibly the desired outcome.
A feather would do the job and so would a cup of boiling hot coffee; ops sorry clumsy me
I did that to someone next to me in a casino who wouldn't put his cigarette on his other side. I was there first, then he sat down. I asked him nicely, he refused.. so I knocked my coke into his lap accidentally while I was vigorously waving away the smoke. (-:
Load More Replies...That is so rude. When I flew back from Europe in 2011, I had one leg in a cast and had to prop it on something near a window, but I did ask the man in the seat in front of me if it bothered him, and he said, "Not at all." But my foot was not resting on his armrest. I would have complained to the crew, and if they didn't do anything I'd complain to the company. And if they didn't do anything, I'd take my business elsewhere.
I had someone put their bare feet on the back of a cinema seat I was in. I did turn around and say: 'Put your feet down, put your shoes on. You're not twelve feet tall, so there's plenty of leg room.' She didn't initially. I said: 'I'm not asking. My next step is to get an employee in here.' She finally did...
This is such a load. Poor Betty-Sue had to look at someone's feet. And? Small child, there are Far worse things happening in the world every f*****g second of every f*****g day. Did your plane crash? Did Foot-Man accost you? Were you physically forced to look in the direct of the offending appendages? If this was the most traumatizing thing you encountered, even just that day, you need to get down on your knees and thank whatever deity claims you. And then get over yourself.
This is a classic overreaction in order to solicit more overreaction situation. While I personally would not do this with my feet on a flight, I dont see the big deal, she is two seats away and not in her personal space, though opening the window with a foot is gross.
Load More Replies...That person really should do something about their edema problem.
Ummmm no, the worst passenger to sit next to is a guy who's at least 40 years older than you, who insults your field of study, hits on you for a while, then falls asleep with his feet sprawled out onto the middle seat next to you. This was my FIRST plane flight, and it was for 6 hours. 😐
I would have contacted the flight attendant immediately. I've only done that once. The person behind me decided it was the perfect time for a manicure and began to apply polish. No!
Had the same thing on an Incheon South Korea flight to Atlanta. It was simple enough to remedy. I took my thumb a forefinger and "twicked" his feet with it. He sure realized it was not acceptable and withdrew his feet. Another thing happened while at the Incheon airport. I was in a convenience store at the airport, and after waiting in line a Korean cut in front of me like I wasn't there. So, I did the same thing and "twicked" him on the head. The guy was surprised and the clerk behind the counter explained to him in Korean what he had done wrong. The guy acknowledged the fact he was inappropriate and uttered something in Korean as an apology. Bottom line is that wherever you go, there are some real idiots and to deal with them all it takes is a little reminder that they are wrong.
Sorry but where is the problem here? Maybe the person behind didn't realize that there was someone in the row in front and only saw the two empty seats? What problem is there to just turn around and ask politely if the preson would stop this? Or ask the flight attendant for help?
The problem is that the person in the back should never do that. NEVER. Who cares if there is nobody in that front seat. He's on a plane, not at home on a couch!! People have NO manners these days

I dont get it. I s so easy to stop it!!! you can just tll it to the guy behind or just put the armrest up. but you can just f*****g tell the guy behind!when someone doesnt behave properly just say so, it s not that hard, but i am sure she did it at some point and just post that for fun and get some tweet...

I sat next to a big man who was sweating profusely, snoring, belching, then farted. I got up and stood in the back of the plane near the stewardess until I had to sit and buckle up for landing. Sooo, Gross
Looking at those feet...they are SWOLLEN. Someone NEEDED to raise their feet or blood clots or worse could happen. It's not like the feet were touching you. How sad that you still had the whole row to enjoy and you chose instead to focus on two feet. Your privilege and vanity is showing!
What I would have done is order a hot cup of coffee and "pretend" to spill it over hi foot.
The worst passenger would be someone who would blow up the plane, but this is a close second
Best thing would have been to buzz the stewardess then grab his leg and yell " He has his shoes off, I think he has a shoe bomb.!" lol
There was a woman with really long hair in front of my mom on a plane. Really long and really unwashed so it was stinky. The woman kept flipping her hair over the seat so it dangled all the way down past mom's tray. We kept asking the flight attendant to say something but every time the woman would whine "But I don't want to sit on my hair!" So my poor mom was stuck for hours having to look at and smell unwashed hair. We really should've asked for some gum to chew and stick in her hair or if they had a pair of scissors so we could cut it. Mom's a retired beautician so at least the cut would've been even.
Get something that can tickle and tickle their feet until they leave!

I would have immediately closed the window....then taken anything heavy that I had brought with me onto the plane and placed it across this person's feet! If that didn't work I would have accidentally spilled my drink on them... that would have been after I reported it to the airlines...if nothing was done about !

Iran and Iraq are in the Middle East. Iran is not a desert country, and both of these countries use soap and water and have done so since the beginning of civilization. You likely encountered someone who just came from the beach and just forced your hatred of arabs and Persians into the situation.

OMG there is NO WAY I wouldn't say something. I don't mind flying, but not when some idiot ruins it for you. I've gotten sick from the dude behind me coughing and deliberately drawing up phlegm in his throat (which makes me want to vomit just hearing it), I've had people with long hair fling it over the back of the seat in front of me, while reclining (that one resulted in several hard pushes against the seat as I was "reaching for something." I see so many nightmares from others, I'm glad I've only had a relatively few bad experiences flying. People are SO RUDE!!!
I fixed the hair over the seat thing - and I wasn't kind about it, since I'd asked her to move her hair twice. The next time she flung her braid over the seat, I opened the tray table, wrapped the braid around the latch once or twice, then closed the table. She found out what happened when she tried to go to the loo. Did I mention I have a very innocent face?
Load More Replies...You almost always get one of "those" people when travelling.it makes the trip seem much longer! I dont usualy have the courage to say anything , but i like to take pics, send em and let the internet have at it^^
I think Jessie Char may have inadvertently stubled into a way of flying first class next time and I don't blame her for keeping the story going.
That is a*s beating time. Put your nasty feet around me and I am ending up on the news...
I would've sat in THAT seat and told the idiot to get out of my BUBBLE! Then I would've proceeded to stretch out on the rest of the row.
Once the guy next to me took off his crocs, his feet stank horribly. Crocs are made with corn, I'm terribly allergic. I started coughing uncontrollably. Soon the guy requested a different seat, he was worried about what dress disease I would give him! Worked fine for me, my coughing stopped and I moved over, giving my husband and me a seat between us!
If they're barefoot in public, you can be sure they do.

You people are beyond stupid.....you make a fist and bring it down full force on the a*****e's feet......problem solved!
'Opened a window' ? On a plane? Lucky she didn't open a door, I think. Maybe her foot couldn't reach the latch?
Next Time, you need to take with you a little flask with fire ants, and put some in his/her feet. problem solved. but take care that ants dont escape into your bag !
As gross as this is.....that poor person's feet were horribly swollen. This could have been the last leg of a 30 hr. flight....who knows? Blood clots from sitting too long can be deadly so, maybe it will make her feel better to know that she may have saved a life. :)
They need to get up and walk around then. Wear compression socks.
Load More Replies...Would have taken my boot off and started beating on those stinky things mercilessly!
you can't take wire cutters on the plane, but you can take a length of twine or thin rope.. make two loops with slipknots, so the harder they pull, the tighter the loops get...
Guillotine liker wins BEST COMMENT! AND I concur whole-heartedly! My fuse is FAR too short to put up with ANYTHING like this! There WOULD BE...a kerfuffle anon!
That's the real reason why axes are not allowed on planes... would chop that feet of 😡
To be serious, I think it's much more disgusting for somebody to actually fly 400 miles! Why not take a train?! Very weird indeed talking about "educating" people and showing them how to behave but directly contributing to one of our biggest problems global warming at the very same time! Now here's somebody who really needs to rethink her behaviour!
If it wasn't in a plane i would of set their feet on fire using spray and a lighter lol
Last night I was told that if i did not provide evidence i was a US ciizen they will call ICE and have me deported. But no, tell me about those feet white woman.
Well, you didn't have to look at the article. And anyway, we all need to hear about something thats not too heavy from time to time.

I see so many nightmares from others, I'm glad I've only had a relatively few bad experiences flying.
Load More Replies...I sat next to a girl who went into the bathroom barefoot. then she came out.. sat down and put one foot up on the seat and sat and rubbed it. gross feet and hands!
I would of stood up and turned around after taking a pic,and take a pic of their face to go along with the feet pic. Then said "do you mind, this is not your easy chair" !!!!
Load More Replies...Woman's... Women is plural and I doubt two were in that seat?
Load More Replies...me personaly, I would have take a wetwipe and clean the feet, than start tickle them and if the person that put them will try to say something I will say if you put your feet next to my killer hand that is what you will get.... I would like to see how long they will leave their feet there.....
Some people are really grossed out by them (not sure why).
Load More Replies...Uhhhhhh....opening a planewindow means lifting the shade so you can see outside. It doesn't mean literally opening the window to the air outside. I surely hope you are joking.
