Hairstylist Shares 30 Women Who Took The Risk Of Cutting Their Hair Short And Got Awesome Results (New Pics)
Many of us women have been taught to define our worth in terms of our femininity, which is then used to gauge our attractiveness, which then affects how much we value ourselves as people. Unsettlingly important in this is hair.
Hair often defines the rigid gender norms; however, as we head into a new decade, many women feel like leaving all of this behind. If you believe that having long hair only adds to the pressure of needing to be attractive enough to meet social expectations, cut it short. Cut off your long hair if you're sick of maintaining it to appease others. Being a version of oneself that society accepts is not our responsibility, and that's exactly why hairstylist Kristina Katsabina takes it upon herself to give her clients short hairstyles based on their preferences and style.

In an earlier interview with Bored Panda, Kristina gave us some insight into the short hair trend as a whole and provided some about her client preferences.
"A lot of women in their 30s are either working in a field they do not like or they have lost all of their inspiration to keep moving forward. It happened to me too; at some point, I lost all of my motivation to keep moving forward and deepen my knowledge when it came to my profession at the time. Before becoming a full-time hairstylist, I was teaching Spanish and also worked as a translator and choreographer."
Many women are exploring short haircut styles and finding inspiration for the next year of 2022. Cutting your hair is never an easy decision since for many people, it has sentimental importance or even touches on sensitive subjects like religious views. However, perhaps fashion-forward hairstyles like the pixie cut, short bob, or even Chanel cut can motivate someone to make changes in their lives. After all, great transformations always begin with the hair!
With that being said, additionally, Kristina saw a rise in the demand for "Bixie" haircuts. A short hairstyle known as a "bixie" is frequently described as a cross between a mullet, a pixie, and a bob. This specific haircut is a new style that combines a sophisticated, effortless look with the best lived-in looks and classic sophistication. It looks well on any lady, regardless of age.

the shorter cut is a bit 'butch' looking. Which is fine, if that's what you want. A blunt bob and a side part would've been better.
She needed styling, but that makes her look manly and 10 years older.

I feel like the short haircut makes her face look even shorter. It instantly changed her face shape to much more round.

Only problem is having short hair is expensive. You have to go get it trimmed every few weeks to keep it looking good in this economy I would rather keep my long hair and my money.
only if you're concerned with maintaining a specific cut. i periodically buzz my entire head with the 1/4 inch guard on the clippers and just let it grow out until it starts getting in my eyes. it always looks great and i get compliments on it at all the various stages of growth!

I'm just happy they didn't add a ton of makeup. Some cuts looked really good, some not so great. Short cuts tend to make women look edgy or older. It's hard to find an in betwrrn
I loveeee how nearly all of them look so happy with the change, you can see it in their eyes and smiles, for those who don’t, I feel really bad cause I cut off 5” and was devastated and wished it would grow back and ofc it took forever (my hair was down to my but, I got it cut to just above my hips)
Not all short hair are Karen cuts. Haircuts don't make you a Karen either. That is all your attitude and how you treat others

For those that downvoted any of the changes, go look in the mirror. How would you feel if you stepped out there and made a big change in your appearance, one that may have required a bit of courage on your part, only to be told, "you looked better before." Stop being so judgey and try being a tad bit supportive. You may be surprised by the support you get in return!
There is no sense in lying and being dishonest to a person. If they like the new look, they'll be happy and confident about it. If they're miserable and don't like the look, they'll appreciate people's honesty. You're not going to fool people by your deception. Stop thinking that everybody is so weak and can't handle a bad haircut. If you keep lying to people and telling them everything is all rainbows and happiness, how are they going to cope with unfortunate things in their lives?

Ugh, it’s like the same 2 cuts on all of them, whether they look good in it or not. Some make them look like little boys. I hope it’s what they wanted not what they were told might look good on them.
You can definitely tell she has like two or three go to short styles. I think most of them look good before and after. A couple look better before and a couple after. that one girl with the like copper colored hair was on here twice, with two different after haircuts? one of them didn't seem like the same day either. Maybe she just got it cut again? doesn't make sense in my head

I have long hair, past my hip by now and I really want to cut it short. I've never had hair this short and I'm pretty sure I won't look good with short hair. Anyways I'm going to cut it soon and let's see🤞
An easy way to go short is to do it in stages: cut to shoulder blades, then later to shoulders, then later to chin...and so on. Helps you decide where you want your hair to be. Or, don't - and go straight to short. Hair grows and that's what's fun!

i've never seen a risk in doing stuff to my hair, but that's me. it's just hair; it grows back pretty fast, and no one is paying as much attention to your hair as you are!
Most people look better with short hair. It opens up your features, especially your eyes. Long hair after your mid-20s drags your features down and makes you look older. And why have long hair if all you do is wear it in a bun or ponytail, which so many people do? Essentially, you are creating a short hair look.
this is part of why i finally cut mine after growing it for a long time; i wasn't doing anything with it. i'd love to maintain gorgeous game of thrones hairstyles, but effort.

These are not haircuts of Karen's. The style is shorter than a Karen haircut would be. Maybe look up what a Karen haircut looks like instead of just assuming? Plus, not all Karen's have the same haircut, it's more on their personality and how they treat people.
