I am a Guinness lover through and through. I had my first sip of it at The Temple Bar Pub in Dublin, Ireland the summer of 2010. I knew right then and there I was drinking something special. Since then, it has been hands down by favorite beer. I frequent a local pub in Tennessee called McNamara's Irish Pub. A topic of conversation in the pub one night was when and where people had their first pint of Guinness. It lead to some pretty entertaining and interesting stories. I figured I'd ask the other lovely Pandas on here and see what we find out.

I use to work as a painter in San Francisco when I was fairly young. The guy who I worked with was an old Irish gent who always had a Guinness with lunch and offered me my first one. I remember we were sitting on the steps of the place we were working on, eating our sandwiches, when he handed me a bottle. I have to admit that I have been drinking the Stout since 1968 and still use it to make fish and chips. It puts everything else to shame.

I had my first Guinness at Young & Jackson's pub in Melbourne when I was 18/19. That's also where I had my first Kilkenny. I loved both! After that I really wanted to try a black & tan but I didn't get a chance before I developed Celiac's and had to stop drinking beer in general. There are a few local places that make gluten free beer where I live, but I'm yet to find any stout.
