Who won? They ask when they wake up. I smile. I hug them. I tell them not to worry. Will we have to leave America? They ask.

At the grocery store, an older lady tells me my hijab is beautiful. Her kind words expand my constricted heart.

Finding Strength Together.

Resentment is not me. I struggle to release it and increase my compassion and understanding. I fail. I try again.

With my spiritual lens in focus, I prepare for the hurdles ahead.
