At one point or another, most of us have probably gotten ourselves into trouble at school once or twice. Getting sent to the principal’s office, having your parents come down to school to talk with the teachers, etc. is not necessarily the best experience when you’re a kid. In fact, it is typically quite terrifying for most. But you do have to do something extra silly or irresponsible to even get to that point most of the time.

These people took to Twitter to share their stories of getting into trouble at school… for ridiculously silly reasons. From sparing lab frogs’ lives to getting detention for chilling at detention without having been sent to detention, here are 39 scenarios where people got into trouble at school because of something very silly. Scroll down to see the whole list and consider upvoting the entries that crack you up the most!

For a lot of kids, school would eventually become kind of boring and repetitive. So it is no wonder why they constantly come up with ways to annoy each other or their teachers. Small acts of rebellion or silly stunts against the establishment that is school are not even necessarily bad as long as there is balance between acting up and being educated.

There is always at least one teacher at school who will seemingly go out of their way to scold or punish students for doing barely anything. But that doesn’t only count for school. That could also be your family member or your boss. So in a way, school does somewhat prepare you for life and dealing with real people outside one's safe bubble.

You mean the entire Catholic Church? I was baptised and raised Catholic and they're the biggest hypocrites of all time.

Religious indoctrination at young ages causes people to feel guilty if as they grow up. If you are being told that gay is bad, the devils work, and gays you will burn in hell and then it turns out as you become sexually active if you are attracted to the same sex, you will feel very guilty. Even heterosexual sex before being united in the eyes of God will cause you to burn in hell. If you masturbate, you will burn in hell. So many people feel afraid of their sexual desire because it is the work of the devil. God will send them to burn in the eternal flame, so they turn to religion to purge themselves. That probably why there are some many perverts and sexual deviants in the church, because they can’t channel their sexuality in natural ways.

I don't know, the way I was taught was that God made sexual desire, and that it was good and holy as long as it was used in proper ways (like between two consenting adults, for example).

Good for the nun to accept herself and live her authentic life afterwards though

Any time I ever ask why God does or let's bad things happen, the explanation is always 'suffering breeds compassion.' If that's true, the world should be filled to the brim with love and compassion by now. How many infants and children have to die of incurable, painful, soul sucking diseases for people to be more empathetic?

I always hate that answer! God also doesn't do things to 'test us'. The point is God has given us free will and it would not be free will if he controlled whether disasters and things happened to us. Things happen because of a combination of consequences and randomness. It's how we deal with them that is important. God wouldn't punish us for succumbing to the hand we are dealt though.

One thing I learned in 12 years at a catholic schools is never correct a nun, teaching brother, or priest. It's a lot different today, but in my day the ranks of catholic teachers were made up of a whole lot of angry, ignorant, men and woman, both laic and religious.

The Bible doesn't say people of color can't be a leader in the congregation. God does not promote racism.

Perhaps the poster in some unforeseen way had something to do with the Nun quitting the school and running off.

Had to leave the Catholic church before confirmation due to their lack of answers. Eventually realized I was an atheist, and I've never looked back.

I was in the 8th grade (12 years old) in Catholic school. The nun was teaching Creationism (Poof! On the first day god created the world, etc...) and said that evolution didn't exist. I asked why it had to be one or the other, why god couldn't have created/started the process of evolution itself. I got expelled permanently from school that day, for asking that question.

Had a similar situation, when I questioned my teacher why we have to speak Arabic or Latin with God since he is all-powerful and "created" all languages, why can't I speak any language I like... I was thrown out of class. This incident actually opened my eyes to question things in life. I still like to pose this question to devout believers (we had religion education in school at the time - don't ask).

All in all, school is a place where people get ready for some important aspects of their lives. But a part of the learning process - the rebellion, the occasional prank, should not be met with complete shutdown and resistance. Instead, teachers should focus on educating their students, not pointing fingers at them for obscure reasons and calling it a day.

Kids don't realize that school don't legally have authority on them. Parents solely have. That school is not a prison, they are free to leave whenever they want, and that forcing anyone to stay somewhere against their will is unlawful imprisonment.

Is doing nothing in detention common in many places? Only time I was sent to detention (in France) was for skipping German class and they had us take a super difficult German test and convinced us it would count towards our grade. Then they revealed it was basically a university level test and that we couldn't have possibly completed it and it would never count.

WHY!? PUNISH THE IDIOT NOT THE VICTIM! If someone breaks into your house, and they shoot you, but you shoot him back, you are not gonna punish the victim! Schools just want "zero violence" which does not make sense.

Sure...I don't doubt that they could read but I'm pretty sure they don't kick kids out of preschool for being able to read. My son didn't get kicked out of his preschool for being able to read.
