For years, social media and fashion magazines have promoted the idea that you’ve got to be a certain shape and size to feel good in your own skin. But no matter what the unattainable beauty standards tell you, there is no ideal body type. Every body is a good body, despite its age, gender, abilities, or shape, and it should be suitable for whatever clothing you may desire.
However, fashion is a notoriously ruthless industry that hasn’t been the best environment for the body positivity movement to thrive. Because as we know from practice, sometimes buying clothes that are supposed to be in your size can turn into a disappointment. You may think the item will fit you, but the result is completely different from what you imagined.
Luckily, more and more brands are willing to take the matters into their own hands, and the 'Sassy & Chic by Llesi' clothing store is doing just that. On their Instagram page, three friends of different body types are throwing on the same outfits and showing how they can rock the same look in sizes S, M and L. Below, we at Bored Panda have wrapped up a selection of their stunning examples for you to enjoy, so continue scrolling and upvote your favorite ones!

Sizes L, M, and S.
Well, now I have seen more; I wear L and I look like her. I think the S/M/L sizes is for regular body types. Otherwise 38/40/42 etc has a much wider range.
Load More Replies...As an European, I really don't get why people are so pissy about the L being labelled large... That's literally what her clothing size is! She seems a bit taller than the others too. Research has been done, which shows that Americans perceptions of weight are very messed up, and that they always visually underestimate where overweight, obese etc begin. This is likely due to the country being mostly overweight. At least here, the basic three sizes cover the spectrum of healthy bmi at average height pretty well, with xs being just underweight and xl being overweight. Nothing wrong with being larger, but that doesn't chance the fact that she is in fact already larger, and anyone larger than that is, well, extra larger. This is an American company too (TX), albeit seemingly hispanic-focused, working with American sizes.
Every one of these young ladies at hot as hell... I can't comment any more. Case closed!
For me the ideal woman is S/M length and then from top to bottom L/M - M - L/M I just love woman with curves.
Lol, you got it! I was in a grocery store once, overheard a woman telling her SO that she wouldn't be buying those crisps she lived so much because when she ate them all, she'd become fat. I popped my head around the corner and there she was, just a normal body to the slim side... I laughed, and asked her if she really meant that on which she said yes. Then I asked her SO to outline the shape of a woman, which looked like your list above. Then I looked at her, she was flabbergasted, looking at him and then asked "You mean that?" He said yes and she ended up buying those crisps 😁 Lesson here: A woman is not an ironingboard, she also comes with curves.
Load More Replies...There should be a toddler in this mix. Romper are always cute on toddlers no matter chunkiness.
The fabric pattern looks nice, but the design, with that elastic waistband, that just kills the whole thing. In this case it looks better in the girl with curves.
Sizes L, M, and S.
I see some where the style isn't fitted properly in the larger sizes (not enough bagginess/fabric etc). This however is one of the great ones! Flattering to all three, and in my favourite colour to boot 😊
I actually think that it looks better in L. Maybe because she's taller?
Call me old-fashioned but this look is just a big no no, it doesn't do the female body any favorites to not have a V shaped neckline when the dress itself is in just one color, let alone yellow... For the rest... it just looks like nothing one would want to put a female body in.
The fashion industry is notorious for promoting size standards that might make some people feel like certain clothes will look bad on them. In fact, some might even feel so pressured by society's idea of beauty and style that they don’t even try them out.
Body standards still remain a delicate issue, sparking heated debates across social media platforms. While many of us know the pervasive and damaging effects harmful beauty ideals have on mental health and well-being, some media consumers — particularly young impressionable girls — may not realize it.
Looking good, BUT could have been better for L size if it was appropriately sewn.
Totally agree. The need to give L a tad bit more material. It looks kinda tight on her compared to the other two
Load More Replies...Looking good girls! But the fashion industry suck balls. Making many woman feeling insecure about their bodies. But when I look at those Anorexia "top" models nothing but disgust comes over me. Those "top" models are often ugly as frack. Skin over bones nothing more. Just be yourself ladies they're men (and women) that like skinny women and there are those that like big woman and everything in between. Just be yourself.
It looks nice enough, good color and pattern, nice design and suitable for all 3 sizes.
Sizes L, M, and S.
This Bored Panda should be renamed how to look like medium sized triplets
The infinitesimal difference in body type is deceiving. Using actual body types (ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph) would be a more accurate depiction!
The top of this design is very suitable for all three, but trousers... Just no.
They have the same or similar type of body figure in 3 different sizes. It would be better if there was more variety.
This again looks very nice on all three, although it does look best on the L size girl, as she has got her curves in all the right places.
"While no one is immune, adolescent girls’ brains are more malleable," Kara Lissy, LCSW, a psychotherapist at A Good Place Therapy, told Glamour. "They cannot yet think as critically as adults in terms of assessing what information is harmful or helpful, let alone who is controlling that information and if it’s even true."
Sizes L, S, and M.
I'm starting to think they make these outfits themselves. They all have that same style/look about them. What do you Pandas think?
I think all of these outfits are designed by these three women and outsourced to a different company for sewing. The BoredPanda listicle provides a link to their clothing website:https://sassyandchicbyllesi.com/collections/new-arrivals/products/sabina-set
Load More Replies...Those pants look nice and curvy on L. But why are their pants always so/too long? And I'm not a fan of this style of top-- the kind with the 'arm floaties.' They could have done without those.
Lovely design for all, although again, the largest size looks best in this as she has her curves in all the right places.
Those sleeves remind me of those arm float swimming things I used to wear when I was little.
Don't agree with you on that, on a curvy body it looks great af 😉
Load More Replies...Too bad the other girl isn't shown here, onesies are perfect for a curvy body. This design and fabric is really nice.
"We are bombarded with images of women’s bodies throughout the day on social media, and the cultural obsession with female bodies is a money-maker for these platforms," Carrie Wasterlain, LCSW, director at young adult mental health treatment program The Dorm NYC, added. "The fact remains that we are still spending a massive amount of time discussing women’s bodies and what size they should be." Well, quite frankly, that needs to change.
You're right. It looks like they all are wearing size M and it fits each one different.
Load More Replies...What I've been trying to understand is, are they all wearing a "one size fits all" in each of these series of photos? Or are they wearing their corresponding size, S, M, and L? Because this is the first photo where it looks like they are wearing the same size each? The "S" looks like the top is too roomy, the "M" looks like her top is way too small, and the "L" looks fine in the top, but her pants seem too small. So are they each wearing the same size to show how that size would fit on different bodies? And if so, is it a OSFA, or more like they are all wearing a Medium to show the difference in how that would fit on a S, M, and L?
They are all wearing the size that suits their body, but it actually shows that but one size can fit the total body of a woman as curves and b00bs will always differ.
Load More Replies...This one almost looks like they all got the same size; it is too big on the "small" (trousers look best on her) and too tight on the "large" (top looks best on her): Although in fact the women don't look that different to me.
Not sure what to think of this, fabric and design are nice, but it doesn't have the x-factor in it.
Does no one else see Photoshop here? Look at the hands in the pockets.
The shirts look great, but the pants don’t look all that good on any of them. It’s the elastic waistband and the way too light material that needs to be weighted in the hem for the pants to hang well.
I'd say L looks best, considering the overall weird shape of the pants.
This is just an overall waist of fabric, the shirts are hiring and the elastic waistsbands are really the last thing you'd want to use... Plus it just doesn't really look well sewn, especially the trousers, they have a pull in the fabric where it shouldn't pull.
Normal, large, and extra large. My wife wore small and she was 5'2" and 112 lbs.
I’m sorry, the woman who is depicted as being a “large” does not at all look like a true large. Ugh.
And the 'medium' woman looks like she should be in a large
Load More Replies...Small is the only one that looks comfy in this outfit. The other two are just going along with this nonsense. Not all of us want to show off our midriffs, sheesh!
Nope.... or maybe to the beach because no one really cares what you wear there ;)
For decades, major retailers have generally catered to the slim consumer even as the world has gotten more diverse — so no wonder now shoppers are pushing back. People are turning away from stores that fail to include all bodies and demand various chains to carry a wider range of sizes. Right now, consumers are more vocal than ever before, and the industry is starting to listen.
Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing told Vogue that fashion has been stuck in its own stereotype of what is elegant and cool for so long. "We made women feel that, if their bodies weren’t a certain way, they needed to hide themselves. But that’s wrong."
"We have to thank social media for pointing this out — the community of the world saying to the fashion industry: Get out of your bubble. Or else."
Designers never take notes, most of "designer" outfits look like the designer was on a REALLY BAD TRIP...
Load More Replies...what is with them wearing the same garment in different patterns? They aren't flattering...
Here again, they both look like they are wearing the same size-- like M is trying to squeeze into a Small. And again, where is L?
There is a HUGE size difference (amount of fabric) between the 2….
Just no.... Having ruffles in a design doesn't automatically make it look nicer.
I figured it out ...what the heck is it with all these 'ruffles' ?? These women are not 3years old !!
Those type of trousers never look good on bigger ladies. We look as if we just pooped ourselves.
Agreed - I would be a large or xlarge, looking like I got snacks to sneak into a theater stuffed in there
Load More Replies...ugh I never like those kinds of pants. not flattering at all. very pretty ladies though ;)
Thankfully, the body is slowly regaining its power. The body-pride movement keeps on getting stronger, with people of all shapes and sizes challenging unattainable beauty standards, speaking up about their experiences, and showing that stylish looks can be seen on all kinds of physiques.
Sizes S and M.
This looks great, will done. This would also have looked great on the other girl to.
Sizes S and M.
Call me a nerd, but the pants should have the pattern aligned, for the rest it's just an okay design, nothing really fancy but that's not necessary either.
Yeah I can't even imagine what this is supposed to look like. Office, but not?
Load More Replies...Yup, badly photoshopped. When I was still doing portrait photography I also did a few years worth of photoshopping courses on the side.. If you want to be any good, it takes a lot of work and effort, you saw correctly, this is a cr@p job in editing 😉
Load More Replies...I like med and large... Small... You dont have the requirement to fullfill this outfit :-(
If have the jackets a little longer, but overall these look quite nice
These three women in the pictures are here to prove that nothing should be off-limits. There might be items in the series that restrictive beauty ideals say certain folks can’t wear, but the trio doesn’t care.
From casual tops to cocktail dresses and classic two-piece suits, each woman rocks their given outfit and demonstrates that your figure does not have to dictate your wardrobe. Or, rather, that it’s not size, but style that really matters. So continue scrolling to enjoy the rest of this list, and be sure to share your thoughts in the comments!
If they took notes on everything you've suggested they do so far it'd be a whole book babe.
Load More Replies...Looks like they used the same amount of fabric on all three. Trousers are much too tight on L
i agree, any dress that shows your belly button is not a good look
Load More Replies...Shiney material looks bad on everyone. The light always hits it in an unflattering way.
L has a rocking hourglass shape and it's a damn shame there aren't clothes in her size for some of these and that in others the designers don't know how to design for any curves at all
Eyes wash someome.... Girls are great... Dresses are... Ouch.... My name yes ! Why is that pink exist !
The idea is actually not really wrong, however the choice of color is very much of. Also the fact that the cupsizes in the dress don't really agree with what's in them... And then the M model looks like her bosom has so little room it turned out quite crooked.
Why do I keep scrolling through these?? Cuz I can’t sleep, that’s why.
Go to sleep! Just in case you needed somebody else to tell you 😉 so easy to accidentally scroll for hours
Load More Replies...Sizes S and M.
Over all... give this one to S... but both look stunning. S wears it a bit better.
...wait...when did this become a contest?????
Load More Replies...This would most definitely look good on the girl with the L size. If they didn't make it in her size, then by leaving her out in different outfits just proves that the designers do not design for a normal sized body because, let's be real, she's got the best bodyshape of all three of them because she has a great hourglass curved body.
Looks like the sleeves are ripped half way off. Aweful pattern as well
Wrong cut on the large again. Length of the top does not account for offset in more buxom sizes
Welcome to the world of L, and bigger... *facepalm* But to be fair, guy's clothes have the same oddities, too - it would be awesome if future designers made more fits for more shapes and sizes on all fronts... but how can they possibly make a fit for EVERYONE WHO EXISTS, and let alone, unseen by them???!!!
Load More Replies...would be nice in just a plain light blue, maybe strapless or off the shoulder bu the ruching is nice.
Outfit is ugly but wearable (you can put it on) in all sizes. But the coat... This summarise my problem with shirts, coats and jackets. Busty women are presumably expected to freeze.
Yup. I'm a busty woman myself, last winter I searched for days to find a winter coat that would fit. One of the shop workers had the audacity to say I could wear the coat I was trying on open (because otherwise it wouldn't fit). Like that didn't beat the whole purpose of wearing a winter coat...
Load More Replies...Oh gawd. No. What is WITH those pants?!! Cameltoe city. And the added photoshopped sparkle adds nothing.
That's true for more than half the outfits! It's as if they haven't adjusted anything for size, or as if they're all wearing the same size,!
Load More Replies...Yes. I came to say this. You beat me. Lol. Also, this list should be cheaper clothing like from target Walmart. To show you the real difference in what most the world can afford and difference. I went from a xs to a large just cause I gained 20 lbs. Most medium shirts don't fit my breast, and most pants don't fit my hips and that's the only place I got curves or I would be a medium or small with the size of my waist. It's annoying.
Load More Replies...Noone there is large and there's not enough difference in their sizes for this to work
They have different hips, boobs and body structures though. I mean I suppose they could add more examples there are countless variations for height/weight/structure. It's more body build in a simple three healthy-for-longevity examples of women's variations in size and shape (pls don't shoot me for saying their weight is healthy, those opinions are minefields. Everyone has beauty, and health imo can be different. You can even be 'fat-thin' ie look slim but have no muscle and high yellow fat penetrating the organs, despite outwards shape.)
Load More Replies...Size makes no difference in this selection. They seem to either look good on all or look bad on all.
Eh, there are some very clear differences in between leg size, waist size, etc between S and L. In my country there aren't a lot of underweight or overweight people, so such differences stand out more since were not used to bigger differences.
Load More Replies...I tried to see which size I thought each of these outfits looked best on, and was somewhat surprised when the majority of them looked best in size large. There were definitely some that were better in small, and several where medium seemed best, but they did a good job of not picking outfits where the scaling up was done poorly, like so many plus size outfits I see in stores. I know none of there were plus size, but it’s the same idea. There were definitely a couple that wouldn’t look good on anyone, though.
The models are all lovely, no matter the size but some of the designs are not that great and as a few have mentioned not flattering on any size.
They're about the same size??? I can't get it over my head how we're led to believe that she's a ''L"' size...
Research has proven that Americans visually underestimate size, due to their perceptions being influenced by their population being mostly overweight. They think of most obese people that they're just overweight, and of class 2 obese people that they're just class 1 obese. These sizes seem about right for Western Europe, if not a bit generous even, and tbh in East Asia the S would be considered M or even L. Obviously 3 consecutive sizes aren't going to have a world of difference between them, and there a pretty clear size difference in for example the leg width between S and L, or the waist. When you want clothes to, yknow, actually fit properly, you don't put too much difference between consecutive sizes. Nothing wrong with being larger, but she is, in fact, larger...
Load More Replies...The truly unfortunate part of this situation is that they purchased each of these outfits three different times. Travesty!
Since it's on the official intagram of the company, I don't think they bought them lol
