20 Times People Didn’t Expect Their Technology To Reveal Their Affairs To Their Partners
A very serious cheater used to be able to cover their tracks and anything short of following them would probably let them get away with it. But these days, we carry microphones and trackers in our pockets.
For example, one woman went viral after sharing how she discovered her boyfriend was cheating because she got a notification from her smart scale. This prompted hundreds of users to share their own tales in the comments section, which we’ve gathered here for your reading enjoyment. Get comfortable as you scroll through, note the best ideas down, upvote your favorites and be sure to add your own thoughts to the discussion in the comments section below.

I caught mine when he called from work and asked me to go in his email to print off his vaccine passport. While I was doing that, another email came in from Virgin Wireless saying his phone bill was overdue. (We were with Koodo). Better yet, I clicked on the link and it showed me his bill and the 90 plus calls to the same number - one I knew well because she was my friend.
I found out cause we lost the Apple TV remote and he screen shared to use his phone as a remote. Had to leave the room for a minute and then her text came in nice and big on the TV screen for me.
My coworker got an alert from her sleep number bed about her wake/sleep cycles. She was at Disney with her kids
My sister found out because she had an automatic cat feeder with video and audio on it and she checked on the cats when he was talking to his friend about it in their apartment
I was bored and listening to the history of my Alexa command .. suddenly not my voice on there 😳
Note to all men ,if your gonna cheat ffs turn alexia off if you are stupid enough to take said s k a n k home with you 🤦♀️better still dint f kin cheat in first place ,
My girlfriend got a notification from her sleep number bed that her heart rate was higher than usual while she was away touring colleges with her high school, junior.
Caught mine bc our Fitbit group had 2 ppl who’s exercising increased at 2am.
I book all my dad's hotel stays for work. Why am I getting a notification that he checked into a hotel 4 miles away from the house 🤨
Imagine joining yours on a business trip, only for the hotel's concierge to ask if "this lady would like the usual as well" I could have k*lled him on the spot. Except he was cheating on his affair partner so, meh.
My ex wasn’t answering his phone while I was out of town and suddenly the pet camera was offline. And when I got home the front porch light bulb was replaced after I had been asking about it for about a month… neighbors confirmed for me. lol.
I found out because when my BF was moving into his new place, I was helping him set up his Apple TV. In the subscription settings he had a premium Tinder subscription.
Does that mean he was actively using it? Or maybe just forgot about it? Some people are bad about cleaning up auto payments for stuff they don't use.
there was also another woman that kind of similar situation, but they had a connected health app through Apple Watch and his was saying that his heart rate was up n that he was extremely exercising at night
we swapped our phones to doordash and she messaged him while I had his phone, in the middle of sending him a message
For the first time in 8 years together I get a notification text from our Cel phone provider saying we've gone over our minutes/texts limit. I log into our account to check the logs and there's multiple calls and texts to the same number on my then husband's line.
I found out because I heard her through the Alexa app
People can't cheat anymore like they did in the past due to all this technology ratting them out!
My friend found out from a shared Spotify playlist of romantic songs
Everyone has these elaborate stories . I found out when he left his phone in my car and I just went through it otw home 😂😂
I have better things to do with my tech rather than monitor a partner... If it's something you feel you need to do, there's definitely a trust issue. It seems as though the OPs were unaware of the cheating until tech gadgets/apps "snitched"- that's different.
Except for the girl that just confessed that she went thru his phone just because he left it in her car.
Load More Replies..."How did you find out your partner was cheating?" "They replaced all the smart technology with dumb devices" 🤣
All my devices are dumb. Unless you count my Roku TV. My GF wants to get a Google home, but I don't like the idea of letting Google listen to my conversations.
Load More Replies...As a person with an absolute minimum of "smart devices", I find this whole discussion hilarious.
I may have less than the minimum tbh. Never felt the need for any
Load More Replies...I can tell a lot of people have not read Jeffrey Deaver's Steel Kiss... because you will NEVER look at smart gadgets the same way again.
whats up with all the smart c**p? I rather spend my money on traveling and concerts. I dont need smart matress and alexas and everything
Theere weren’t any in here where people were monitor their partners; their devices informed them, though, in what struck me as outrageous ways. Who needs to know their sleep-number mattress numbers change? If you change it yourself, you don’t need a notification that you’ve done it, for heaven’s sake. I’d thought smart fridges are silly, but a Mattress notifying you you’ve changed the firmness? Who the hell needs that?
People with cheating partners, apparently lol
Load More Replies...My smart fridge, smart mattress and smart to had a ménage a trois. The mess gave them away, water everywhere and the TV stopped working.
If I had a partner which ain’t happening again lol while alexia n syncing phones seems useful lol I refuse point blank to shell out on a smart bed that’s just ott and expensive apparently
I found out two different ways one I saw emails and text messages to 17 year old who couldn't even watch operated movies yet and he was lying on me and I had just had our second child. The next was one of those dating sites that somebody hacked and let out all the names of the people that were on it and his name is on it now he's my ex after 25 years

Bored Panda is rather obsessed with stories about ‘cheating’. It does seem to me that too many people think they have to be in a relationship at all times and some of these instances are about at least one of those partners actually would have been better off being free and single. Plus, when you’re young and learning the ropes you don’t always recognise that a relationship has played through until one or other has a fling, or don’t know what to do with the feelings. Other times neither of the couple know how to sort out a problem within the relationship until one or other is unfaithful and then they’re forced to face up to it. I know of relationships when one of them had a fling and it actually strengthened it and they went on forever together, because it was a way of forcing them. But all BP wants to do is trigger anger/rage/outrage/feelings of vengance etc. Blurgh.
I wouldn't use smart devices because A. I'm divorced and 2. Don't know how to do it! 😊
Unfortunately it’s hard to avoid sometimes. We treated ourselves to a bigger air fryer and the one we wanted with all the functions we were after (e.g. rotisserie, dehydrator) comes with an app. We all found this hilarious and haven’t touched it. Plus, I was proud as punch when my teenager told me ‘you know why it has an app? so they can sell your data’. Good boy! So companies are going to put it into everything and anything, whether we want it or not, because it increases their profit hugely. Like, sometimes, it’s how they make a profit.
