Artist Tries To Raise Awareness About Animal Abuse With These 33 Uncomfortable Illustrations
Interview With Artist
This artist by the name of milkdongcomics on Instagram creates illustrations. However, those illustrations are not simply art. They have a heavy message behind them—animal abuse. Many of us don't even think about all the ways animals are being mistreated by humanity. So this artist created a project called "Murder Scene" to shock us back to reality.
The art may be uncomfortable for many people, but it's the sad reality of many critters in this world. Perhaps this art will make us rethink our actions and create a world safe for animals. Many organizations are already working towards that. Consider donating to shelters and institutions working to save animals and give them a better life.

Animal abuse is common all over the world. Research shows that animal abuse strongly connects with abuse against people. The most common animals abused are pets, like cats, dogs, and farm animals.
We asked the artist what inspired him to create these illustrations: "I love nature. All of the creatures on the earth are beautiful! Unfortunately, many of them are endangered, therefore, I created a collection of drawings with messages about animal cruelty. The name of the series is "HEY HUMAN, SEE WHAT YOU DO!?" I wanna convey the message to more people through my art, attract more people to raise awareness about the endangered creatures. This is a serious issue!"

There are many forms animal abuse takes: from hoarding too many animals, breeding them incorrectly, to slaughtering them for fur, horns, and teeth, to even organizing fights and pitting animals against one another. Many would argue that there aren't enough laws to help prevent animal abuse; usually, people responsible for mistreating animals are not persecuted.
The artist shared what inspired him to touch upon such heavy topics: "The natural ecosystem is closely linked with humans, so I wanna try my best to do something for animals, the next-generation, and the earth!"

Declawing cats is horrible, it's like cutting off your fingers at the last knuckle so your nails can't grow. It can also make it painful for cats to walk the way they're used to, which will set them up for joint problems and even more pain down the line.

Thankfully, Germany also banned de-clawing! Along with cupping ears and tails for dogs. It's considered animal cruelty, which it is.

I have a confession to make. I once had a cat declawed. Front paws only, but that was enough for me to realize how horrible what I had done was. (I can't believe the vet suggested it.) And I will never do it again.

My childhood pet was a cat who after I left home my mom decided she was too much of a burden so she let her go live outside. They had her declawed years before and she died within 3 months from an animal attack. Thanks mom.

A few years ago, I found a declawed cat outside that some a*****e had released to fend for itself. I wasn't able to take it in (already had the max cats the landlord allows), so took it to the humane society. All the cats I've adopted, if they came with claws, they've kept them (one was a front declaw when I adopted him). Regular claw trims, scratching posts, and furniture that they either can't get their claws into or that you're willing to accept a cat scratching.

I once knew a cat who was declawed in early youth, the front paws only. I by no means want to justify this cruel practice - I was shocked when I looked at her paws closely ... you really SEE there's something missing, even years after. This cat was a really competent cat nevertheless - she would climb trees I'd hesitate with intact fingers. That this is not allowed is totally right! Many cats don't get along with sawed off fingers, she may have been an exception (and, finally, was adopted into a loving and caring home - we never knew who did this, her story was pretty sad in many respects ... rescued out of a container for glass, full of broken bottles, ...). Report people who do this! We can't reply in kind, but we can make sure every law protecting animals is not only written but brough into effect.

I rescued a cat that had been declawed. It was awful. Her little feet were so sensitive that she whined with each step. Wish I could have declared her former owner 😠

If her feet were that sensitive she may have had frostbite at some point if you live in a cold climate. I had a rescue cat that this happened to. A declaring should never cause residual pain unless done by an incompetent Vet Surgeon or a Vet that wasn't licensed to perform the surgtry. I did a LOT of research prior to my 1st kitten's surgery 35 yrs ago.

How would you feel if your fingers and toes were cut off? That’s the same as declawing a cat, making it more likely to fall or get attacked and cannot defend. So now you have a seriously high vet bill because you declawed a cat, besides, it causes a great deal of pain.

Sadly, before I was properly educated on exactly what de-clawing entailed, I had had some cats that lived with us declawed as it was required by our landlord for us to keep the cats. Once I was told what it entailed, I was horrified, and I have never subjected another cat to such cruelty.

I have three cats, and despite having a completely torn sofa, and I am full of small scratches, I would never do such a thing. removing a cat's nails is like cutting a human's fingers. at best shorten them, since they do not have the wood that helps them tear the old ones.

For humans it would be cutting off the last joint on our fingers. Claws are a cat's first defense; many declawed cats start biting; litter boxes are painful for them to use so they start eliminating "inappropriately". Humans should learn to trim cat's claws instead of declawing.

That's funny about the litter box. My first kitten wouldn't step on the torn up newspaper to pee & I was afraid she was going to get sick if she didn't pee. So I switched back to the litter & the little thing jumped in that box so fast & was grateful for the litter after holding for over 12 hours! Plus with so many choices of litter there should be no problem finding one to cat's liking.And a kitten's paws are more sensitive than a cats which is more often the case of the texture issue. That or taken from mother too soon.

My hands are covered in scratches and my carpets are wrecked in places. Threads hang from the sofa and knitwear ends up with pulls. Do I care? NO. It's part of owning cats. They're happy, healthy and pain free (and a little annoying for ignoring their multiple scratching posts, pads and furniture). The only thing that needed removing were their balls!

My family had to declaw one of our cats because he was too violent. The only other option we had at the time was sending him back to the shelter where he would be euthanized. My parents would never consider declawing a cat unless it was for medical reasons, or if the only other option to deal with the violence was euthanasia. Both of my parents regret having to do it. That cat now has decided that my father is his personal sleeping place and that everyone else’s food is his.

It all happens where a dog from Thailand accidentally boarded a cargo ship en route to Hong Kong. Their Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department euthanized the dog with the reason that it came from area with rabies outbreak.

In Asia, I think, elephants are ridden in parades and tied up with rope at the end. The sad part is, when they are babies, they have a chain tied around there ankle. Eventually, they realize there is no escape, and when they grow up, the thin rope acts like the chain. It really is sad. Also, dairy farms. Stop being selfish jerks and give the baby cows their mother's. And why do people chop off dogs' tails? It does nothing to you. Imagine chopping off your leg. Do you want that to happen? I sure hope not.

Animal testing is used ecessively. If we accept for the moment that it can't be replaced in total by now, the amount and the potentially found evidence for whatever still not always come into an acceptable proportion. Research towards animal-free testing could use a better funding for sure, and a closer look when this stuff is getting permission (you can't just do that when and how you like, but must, pro forma, show why you need to ... in many countries) would certainly reduce the amount of it - but there is money in it, money when selling the animals also as money when conducting the experiment for another company - and the stuff found out this way often is way overrated ... sometimes its only effect is combining a drug with a minor effective substance like caffein or so to get new patents - this is a system full of exceptions and holes and excuses. If it wree only for real medical progress, we'd need way less. Most are abused.

Scientifically, humans are animals, yes, humans are abused too. Be it through childhood, or adulthood with your partner, there are Humans abused, be it mentally,physical,sexual, (ew) or some other. It really hurts to know that not only these poor “animals” we call them, whilst we are animals too, and these days some heartless humans are animals. Why is “animals” Referred to a crazy person. Shaming for no reason?

Today we condemn people from the past (enshrined as statues) for the way they treated other humans; ways which were normal during their time periods. Our great grandchildren will tear down the statues we make today because of the ways in which people today treat animals. We are no better than our ancestors.

Um... Sybil? I think you need to actually read the bible. Animals were made by God, and he put us in charge of caring for them. I do not think everyone needs to be Vegetarian/Vegan. Humans are Omnivores! Just look at our teeth! Not that it's bad to be Vegetarian/Vegan. I just want the senseless violence to stop.

I'm not giving up meat, but I am going to do my best to only buy things that are humanely/sustainably farmed.

These are so sad I don't feel like I can post them. They are true but the drawings are so realistic that I'm in tears at how they have been mistreated. Know all my friends, I think they would be in tears also.

Animal testing is used ecessively. If we accept for the moment that it can't be replaced in total by now, the amount and the potentially found evidence for whatever still not always come into an acceptable proportion. Research towards animal-free testing could use a better funding for sure, and a closer look when this stuff is getting permission (you can't just do that when and how you like, but must, pro forma, show why you need to ... in many countries) would certainly reduce the amount of it - but there is money in it, money when selling the animals also as money when conducting the experiment for another company - and the stuff found out this way often is way overrated ... sometimes its only effect is combining a drug with a minor effective substance like caffein or so to get new patents - this is a system full of exceptions and holes and excuses. If it wree only for real medical progress, we'd need way less. Most are abused.
