My friend's sister in law was out jogging when some other random dude came up and jogged with her and talked with her about random stuff like the movie being filmed nearby at the time for a bit. After a bit of that, he said, "Oh, by the way, I hope you like the movie." They were filming The Force Awakens and she only realized later that it was Harrison Ford.

I have a family friend who dated Daniel Radcliffe. I was seven at the time they dated, and a huge Harry Potter fan. I don't remember much aside from the fact that he was a really sweet guy. On my 8th birthday, my family friend told Daniel it was my birthday and he texted me a personal happy birthday message despite never having met me. Absolutely made it the best birthday ever.
You are all asking why I had a phone at 8 years old- to clarify, Daniel texted from my family friend's phone to my mom's phone, and sadly, I don't still have the message, as my mom's messages were deleted when she got a new phone. I know it sounds unbelievable but it's true I swear on Reddit

I feel like those kids in the movie were my kids. My son is Daniel’s agar, and he grew up with that character. He aged with Harry. We read those books together. He would get to read up until bedtime, then I would get the book. We were not allowed to ruin it if one of us read faster. The excitement we had at the release of each book!

A former boss (in Mexico) is a first-cousin of Gael Garcia Bernal, whom she used to date. He got to meet her at a family gathering of them, says she introduced herself politely (like nobody knows who se is) and was a perfectly nice person. Boss had a major crush on her, he says he was starstruck.

I had an English teacher that went on a date with Mark Hamill just after filming Star Wars in the 70's. She said he was a nice guy and was very humble, he said he was a small time actor and said he had just finished a new movie that he thought might be successful. They only went out once and she never heard from him again. Saw him in Star Wars a few months later and had her mind blown.

My friend's aunt went on a blind date with Gerard Butler, circa *300*(the movie, not the year). There was a big miscommunication, because he was looking for a hookup and she's a kindly French-Canadian woman in her fifties, but they both had a laugh about it and enjoyed supper with each other. She said he was very kind, and very muscular.

Not me, but my aunt dated Matthew Mcconaughey before he was famous. He ended up getting invited to her wedding to my “normal” uncle, and proceeded to pass out drunk in the back of my family’s car. He refused to leave, and now my dad refuses to watch his movies!

Not a romantic date in the least, but I had dinner once at a Japanese restaurant (in a group setting) with Leonardo DiCaprio while he was in Louisiana filming Django Unchained. He wanted to know what college was like and was asking us all about our lives. He also let me try his udon. It was my first ever Instagram post! He really is such a nice guy in the limelight and in real life- it felt like we were hanging out with our friend.

Not a date, per se, but I had a nice quiet dinner with Samantha Fox in her hotel room in Toronto in the 80's. She was in town for a show and I was attached to her security detail. She asked me to eat with her because she didn't want to go out but hated eating alone. Sweet girl, kinda sad too. Lonely.
I don't remember a lot of details, what we ate etc. but I do remember we talked about her growing up in the UK and being still amazed at her success. I do remember she said she looked forward to seeing the world on tour, but apparently the world all looked like the same hotel room. She never got to just explore and play tourist.

Not me but my aunt dated Weird Al Yankovic when she was in her mid 20s. I wasnt alive back then but my family tells me he was a genuinely funny person in a way you wouldnt very much expect. I cant personally give any examples but my dad and aunt have plenty of stories. One of my much older cousins actually has a signed guitar that Al played with in a live show. My aunt and Al met from my dad being a radio DJ as a teenager, and he met a lot of celebrities through that. Mostly 90 and early 2000s pop and country stars, but anyways, the station my dad worked at threw weird Al a birthday party, and my aunt just happened to be there, and they ended up together for a decent amount of time. Every once in a while Al will come into town to say hi to her. Even tho they arent together they are still friends. And no Al isnt cheating on his wife with my aunt, my aunts a strong married christian, and im more than 100% sure she wouldnt do that. One of these days i might end up meeting him, which i think would be pretty cool.

My husband's great great grandma has a song written after her by johnny cash called ballad of a teenage queen. He loved her when he was young and she apparently didnt love him back. She ended up being badly treated by her husband.

Great great grandma? Never. A GGGma to a today's adult person was born around 1900/1910ish. Johnny Cash was born 1932. No way he met this lady in her teenage years.

Kaa, it is not likely, but would be mathematically possible for somebody's husband to have a great, great grandmother born in 1932--provided one of the generations had a child before the age of 18 and the other generations had their first kid around 18.

I dated Flux Pavilion for seven years. It was great. So we got married in January. I enjoy my own company so the touring isn't really a problem.
edit: I posted that and then felt guilty about such a low-effort post. So... it’s nice to share my life with a person so creatively fulfilled. I love hearing whatever he’s worked on that day when he gets home. I get to tag along to cool places, and it’s sweet to see how much people care about his music. I generally don’t try to explain what he does when I meet new people because they either won’t get it and don’t care or they do get it, care too much, and then only want to talk to me about his music. Largely though, just a normal happy marriage; He judges me when I listen to radio 1. I judge him when his phone isn’t on silent. His job isn’t much of a factor in our daily life. I married Josh not Flux Pavilion, really. He’s an excellent husband for myriad reasons, and his musical talent is only one of those.

One of my dad's close friends is Jim Carry's first wife. Apparently he turned into kind of a d**k when he got famous (shock8ng, I know). I remember a decade or so again when their grown kid's band was trying to make a living with their music, she really want Jim to help them get bookings and stuff and he was all "they need to make it on their own". Then he got a new girlfriend who told him to help his kid out and he did. First wife is still salty about that.

I didn’t realise he was a celebrity as we met on tinder but he DID lie about his age - he was 19 but said he was 21 (I was 21 at the time) and he assumed I knew all about him when I guess his age, after finding out he wasn’t 21. My aunt was engaged to Van Morrison briefly. . No interesting stories that I could remember. They were in love but given ~~he was always gone so~~ the challenges that come with fame, his personality quirks documented in many places, and my aunts young age at the time (20) it didn't work out. I was told that he would play guitar for the fam on Christmas get togethers.

I cooked for him once when I was a chef. Always loved his music, but def have to separate the artist from the art here...he was rude, demanding, arrogant, insisting on food not on the menu, that the restaurant was closed just for he and his entourage (who, according to the waiting staff, were lovely). And these days, he's a God bothering Trumper.

My wife briefly dated Louis CK back in 2012. She says it seems kind of awful to be famous. Any time they went out to eat or were in public they were just constantly interrupted or stared at. He came to her bday party at some little bowling alley in Brooklyn though and was pretty cool. The story that always sticks with me is that one day he went out and bought a $150,000 watch because he felt sad.

I went out with a guy that was in a very famous movie about vampires. I started dating him before the movie came out, and then we separated and dating again very briefly after it came out. People stared when we went places. He started wearing weird clothes because people started telling him what to wear. And his schedule was insane! I work for a major airline, so often am travelling in an upgraded cabin. I was once flying back to London from Miami and the flight was due to take off at 10pm, it was delayed for 2 hours with no one telling us why this was. I overhead one of the staff saying 'I can't believe we have to hold the flight for them'. At 12:30am (after another delay, the Beckhams turned up and were boarded straight on to the plane in first class. I was also travelling in first class (perks of the job) and as a staff member you have to watch how you behave, so I stayed quiet, but gave them a pretty dirty look. One business man was not biting his tongue though and pointed out that he had 10 times the amount of money they did and who did they think they were to hold up 300+ people just because they can't tell the time. He was also was like a black card holder with BA, so when the Beckhams assistant asked him to be moved, the crew refused saying he was a more important customer. I sat back and enjoyed the show.

My grandpa was in charge of the Illinois State Fair back in the 50's and met lots of celebrities before they were big time. He said the worst was Diana Ross- she was incredibly rude, nasty and egotistical. And this came from a man who liked everybody.

Not world known celebrity, but my mum dated Warwick Capper, who was a well know Aussie Rules football player. She hasn't said much about what he was like then but recently ran across him and he is now DJing in a country pub :)

I fan-girled over a poet who was/ poet laureate consultatnt to the US Library fo Congress. She was very kind about giving me an autograph. We were in a clothing store. In retrospect, I was such a frigging dork-idiot! She was far too kind. Yes, I still have her autograph. I think I gushed, "You're on my shelf next to Szymborska and Angelou!" and that was pretty much the dumbest way to say hi ever.

Only story I got was when I was working at the airport with USDA and a couple walks through so I can check their baggage ... I ask my normal questions and get to the part of whether travel was business or personal and the guy noted that it was for a musical tour ... he pulls out a record single and has the lady autograph it ... it was La India who was doing Club music at the time, after doing Freestyle music and later doing Salsa ... the guy that gave me the record was Little Louis Vega, but I didn't know it until I read the declaration ...
