anything from stories to simple anxiety-reducing tips would help.

Have them give you pills to take before you get there. Makes it so much less scary. It’s not bad. Tell them you’re freaked out before hand. They’ve seen it all! It’s kinda achy when you wake up and starts throbbing within a few hours but the pain usually goes away after 3 or 4 days. If you can, I suggest taking ibuprofen (instead you can try advil if you have to) and use a warm, wet compress on your cheeks. Swirling/gargling with warm salt water tastes like absolute garbage but you’ll heal faster and have less swelling. I ate mashed potatoes covered in Campbell’s cream of chicken soup for 4 days. Don’t use a straw to drink, no matter what. Avoid acidic foods and smoking too. I am not a medical professional at all. I had mine removed though and I’ve nursed a (big baby) husband through it. Don’t stop taking the antibiotics til they’re all gone either. As far as the anxiety goes? I was half out of it the whole time but I concentrated on breathing through my nose and singing songs in my head. Some dentists will even let you listen to music with earbuds if you ask. If you feel pain, raise your hand and tell them. They’ll take care of it. :) You got this!

Get ready for the post-op practicalities.
Stock up on baby food as chewing will be a bit painful for a few days.
It’s going to be all right.
