I’m sure most of you have heard of (or participated in) a cake smash. It’s the one time that we put a whole cake in front of babies and hope that they make a really big mess! As long as they are cute while they do it.
Well, my daughter turned ONE this month and we did exactly that. Because what else do you do with a baby? I made a healthy banana cake and covered it with sticky, messy, delicious whipped coconut cream chocolate frosting.
She ate cake like Bruce Bogtrotter from Matilda. Inhaled the frosting like Augusts Gloop inhaled the chocolate river. She smashed that cake with her face TWENTY-ONE times in about 10 minutes.
And I was so proud. In true parent fashion, when a kid does something awesome or embarrassing, I knew I had to share the goodness with the internet. Enjoy!
