Watch This Anonymous Hero Saving A Bunny From Wildfire And Then Just Vanishing Into The Dark
As Ventura County suffers from the Thomas fire that has already forced about 200,000 people to evacuate, a man braved the flames to save one more local resident – a wild bunny. Luckily, a news photographer was nearby to record the heroic act, and the emotional footage he captured is spreading on the internet, giving hope to all Californians.
After seeing the frightened animal, the unidentified man pulled over on a highway near La Conchita. He wasn’t wearing a cape, just a pair of shorts and a hoodie. As the animal darted into the flames, he battled his emotions in the face of total destruction. In a last-ditch effort, the man went all-in and after a few moments and stumbles, the bunny was safely resting in his arms.
The man declined a request for an interview and decided to remain anonymous. Whoever he is, he has been instantly added to the hero list by people on social media, claiming he has successfully restored everyone’s faith in humanity.

And one man saw flames surrounding a frightened wild bunny
Watch the video below to see how bravely he reacted in the face of total destruction
He declined a request for an interview and decided to remain anonymous
But that didn’t stop people from adding the mysterious savior to the ranks of heroes
"The man declined a request for an interview and decided to remain anonymous." THAT. Right there.
Wild jackrabbits are as quick as lightning, so this poor thing had to be either injured, in complete shock from terror, or both to let this man take and cuddle him to safety. The mans panicking when the rabbit starts heading into the fires just got me. I hope they are both well tonight.
Wow, read this article. Hopefully no one is ever in that situation, but scientists have found that small animals rarely perish in similar fires. The rabbit itself might have been in proximity to the fire to save its own young. https://www.livescience.com/61134-leave-fire-rabbits-alone.html However, I totally understand the man's actions.
That might not be the final word on the matter. According to National Geographic, "Young and small animals are particularly at risk in a wildfire. And some of their strategies for escape might not work." https://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2014/07/140721-animals-wildlife-wildfires-nation-forests-science/
Load More Replies...*sigh*. You see a great act of compassion and all you can think about is someone you hate? It's so sad that people choose to see the world the way you do. I choose to just be happy this guy saved a bunny.
Load More Replies...Such genuine concern, when the bunny runs into the flames and he jumps from being nervous, good man right there.
Omg, this made me cry, what a hero and good for him for staying anonymous! That's the best reason to do something kind, it was just to help the rabbit and not for any recognition
It's human nature to reach out and help a fellow creature in need. That's called letting nature take its course.
Even if the actual rescue was counterproductive because the rabbit was maybe just trying to stay close to its litter, the story is heart warming because of the obvious concern of someone for a suffering creature.
Because people choose see what to they want to see. Some people chose to see an act of bravery and compassion, and others chose to see someone doing something they believe could've been against the animal's best interests even if it was of the best intentions.
Load More Replies...Why are you down voting facts stating that you should leave the animals alone? Is it because it's more important that you feel good about what you read instead of looking at the reality of the situation? Animals are very good at self-preservation and rarely need our help out of catastrophes. How about instead of weeping tears of joy over the guy's possibly risking his life and the lives of any babies the rabbit may have had, you do some research on the links that were provided on the comments you down-voted.
If i could buy this man 10 beers i would...and then another 10. His reaction at the beginning shows clear love and respect for animals, i hope to think i would act the same. Doesn't matter if its only a wild rabbit, all life is equal in my eyes. I nearly went over a cliff saving my dog from jumping straight over said cliff once (he was a puppy and i shouldn't of let him off his leash but f****n hell did he get a fright too when he saw it was a long way down and i only just grabbed him before he went). Anyway hats off to this true MAN and HERO.
Thank you for rescuing that helpless bunny.. the bunny was probly so scared and you saved him. Thank you sir :)
Wow brave guy, very sweet what he did. Risky. Cool that he declined being known
That’s so beatiful I mean a rabbit, he pulled over to save him this man is what all people should be like having compassion for any living thing.
Why can't people be left alone.. just let him have that moment lol. Jeeeeesh!
It is so touching! He is a nice guy and I wish there would be more such people
Or he just wanted to do something good that he felt didn't require credit? Way to just assume that his wife would be pissed though. *eye roll*
