New York based artist Justin Bettman creates photo sets in the streets consisting of second-hand furniture. After making a photograph of the set with actors in it, Bettman leaves the set built on the street for strangers to take their own pictures with using the hashtag #SetintheStreet. Sets have been created in NYC, London, Prague, Berlin, and Moscow.

He created this art project in order to get people to question the perspective. When people look at these cropped in images that are shot on the street, they almost always think they are actually interiors. This idea gets people to recognize that when you’re looking at a smaller piece of a larger picture, you can often be misleading.

somehow had a hard time considering all this gentleman other surroundings that he would actually have such a cheap losy yellow lamp upon that beautiful antique table to read by.

really enjoyed the second photo much better than the first. in reality we do have to cope with the entire outside world just beyond our own homes' walls & doors everyday!

when in reality it's merely a thin illusion of our homes being our fortress of sanctuary...

I loved this one till I saw her gross bare feet. Put on some comfortable shoes.

found this one to be hilarious; since the gentleman barber is such a handsome man & the customer seems so vainly finicky. also the barber's facial expression seems resigned to a familiar sentiment of "well, i'm talented but i can't work miracles!"

both seem very content, safe & comfortable off in their own worlds, as the sand continues to drain slowly down the hour glass though they have many years still remaining! Vonderful, Vonderful, vonderful!

I don’t get it. These interiors could all have been created inside a warehouse for example. Why put them in different cities if you don’t even see those backgrounds in them?
