I Illustrate Everyday Life Situations In These Quirky Comics (30 Pics)

A lot has changed since 2018 (the first time this was posted). The main change is the change in my style and also the name my comics are posted under. Now I'm Comiclicious. Thankfully, I no longer draw using my phone and my finger like I used to when I started. I figured I'd like to do this a bit more seriously, so I became a bit more dedicated to the time I invest in getting new ideas and developing my drawing skills.

I'm a very creative person by nature. My creative process mostly consists of me being inspired by everyday life that's a bit chaotic at the moment since I have a toddler. As more people saw my comics, the more pressure I felt to come up with ideas. All of that can lead to an unhealthy rhythm and a lot of mental problems. After many months of art block, I finally set my priorities right and got back to drawing with a different mindset. Now I usually go about my day and the ideas hit me when I forget about the pressure to get them. That's when I quickly doodle rough sketches wherever I get the first chance because they tend to evaporate from my brain if I don't do so.

My comics look simple, but the number of layers in my drawing app would like to disagree. I like to add many details and shadows that usually get lost due to different resolutions when I post my comics on Instagram. The whole drawing process of a four-panel comic takes me about 3 hours to finish. Although that's a long time in a shrimp-like position, I enjoy it because I love improving my drawing style and seeing the end result.

People who come across my comics have positive reactions, mostly because they can relate. I am very thankful to each and every person for their positive reaction. It took quite a bit of courage for me, a past shy person, to publicly share relatable posts since I'm never quite sure if it's actually relatable or it's awkward. As I grew older and more confident, I stopped obsessing over such things and I just started enjoying expressing myself through my drawings.

At the moment, I'm in the process of starting my own little store for stickers, personalized portraits, personalized weddings, birthdays, etc. invitations, but for now, I'm selling all of that in digital form. In the future, I'd like to be able to make a living out of this hobby of mine, and I would love to develop my drawing and animation skills more.
