The reporter behind Blake Lively’s infamous “nightmare” interview has slammed the actress for trying to distract the internet with her Met Gala appearance.

Journalist Kjersti Flaa claimed the 38-year-old actress was trying to distract viewers by attending the glitzy event just hours after she settled her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni.

Highlights
  • Kjersti Flaa, who was humiliated by Blake Lively during a 2016 interview, shared her red-hot comments about the star’s Met Gala appearance.
  • The interviewer was meant to testify against Lively in the now-canceled trial.
  • “I was going to reveal a lot of things that I’m sure they were not happy about,” Flaa said.
  • She claimed Lively settled with Justin Baldoni because she knew she had a “weak case.”

Flaa was scheduled to testify on behalf of Baldoni’s production studio during the now-canceled trial.

Kjersti Flaa hasn’t forgotten how she was humiliated by Blake Lively during an interview in 2016, which resurfaced in 2024 amid the controversy surrounding issues between Lively and Justin Baldoni on the It Ends With Us set.

“The Blake Lively interview that made me want to quit my job,” Flaa wrote after dusting off the old clip and resharing it online.

The resurfaced interview captured Lively and her co-star Parker Posey promoting their Woody Allen film Cafe Society.

The interview started with the journalist congratulating Lively on being pregnant with baby No. 2, saying, “Congrats on your little bump.”

However, the Gossip Girl alum did not have a warm “thank you” to offer. Instead, she cheekily replied, “Congrats on YOUR little bump,” even though Flaa was not pregnant.

After sharing the clip on YouTube, an exasperated Flaa asked, “Is it not ok to congratulate someone on their pregnancy…?”

The wounded reporter was called as a witness to testify for Baldoni in the now-canceled trial. Last month, Lively’s legal team tried to stop the viral interview from being used as evidence, but Baldoni’s team argued that her testimony was “highly relevant.”

Following Lively’s 2026 Met Gala appearance, Flaa shared her red-hot comments about the actress being “delusional.”

“It’s mind-blowing to me that she would [attend]. But I think she wanted to clog the internet with stories about her at the Met Gala and what she was wearing, it was an attempt to try to drown all the negative news,” she told the Daily Mail.

“This is what she and [her husband] Ryan Reynolds have been doing over and over again,” she continued, “they try to manipulate [the internet] and the public by pushing out stories that are friendly and pro–their narrative.”

The Norwegian journalist felt it says a lot about Lively’s “audacity and guts” to be able to stand in front of throngs of people on fashion’s biggest night and say, “Hey, look at me in this dress.”

“In her reality, she still cannot believe that people don’t like her. That’s why she went to the Met Gala,” she added.

The Norwegian reporter claimed she couldn’t believe Lively still thought people loved her

Flaa believes her comments would be seen by the A Simple Favor actress as part of an “orchestrated smear campaign” against her because she “believes people still love her.”

“It’s so delusional. She really, truly believes this … that’s the tragic thing in all of this,” she continued. “In her wildest imagination, she cannot fathom that people don’t like her.”

Flaa went on to say that she was sorely “disappointed” by the Lively-Baldoni settlement last week, because it meant she wouldn’t get her chance to testify against her.

“I was looking forward to it. I was looking forward to telling my side of the story and support what I believe very strongly is the truth here,” she told the outlet.

The reporter claimed Lively settled because she knew she had a “weak case” and everyone must have advised her to “let it go.”

“It would have been so humiliating for her to lose, and you never want to look like a liar in front of a jury,” she said.

Last week, Lively and Baldoni settled their legal battle, weeks before a trial was set to begin.

Lawyers for both sides called the settlement a “victory” for their own clients, but neither party earned any money in the settlement.

Sources also estimated that the stars spent a combined $60 million on their lawsuits against each other.

The actress could be awarded an unspecified amount in damages, depending on a judge’s ruling in connection with a California law passed in 2023, according to court documents.

The law allows individuals who successfully defend against certain retaliatory defamation lawsuits tied to s*xual harassment allegations to seek compensation for their legal fees and additional damages.

The controversy began after Lively and Baldoni clashed on the It Ends With Us set, leading to the actress suing him in December 2024 for s*xual harassment and retaliation, among other claims.

Baldoni hit back with a $400 million countersuit, accusing Lively and Reynolds of defamation and extortion, but the case was dismissed.

If Flaa had a chance to take the witness stand, she said she planned on telling “the truth about what actually happened.” She also said she wasn’t surprised when Lively’s legal team tried to stop their 2016 interview from being used as evidence in court.

“I was going to reveal a lot of things that I’m sure they were not happy about,” Flaa said about testifying against Lively

Lively’s team would have claimed the resurfaced interview was part of Baldoni’s “smear campaign” against her, but “I could basically prove the opposite of what she was trying to prove,” Flaa said.

She claimed she was the only person who had access to the analytics of the YouTube video and asserted that nobody “amplified” it online.

“I was going to reveal a lot of things that I’m sure they were not happy about,” she added.

“The reporter is 100% correct,” one said online, while another wrote, “A wise man once said, ‘They hate us ‘cuz they ain’t us’”
