I would rather say unbelievably dumb.

It's the inability to understand the consequences combined with the need to experience something (and a lot of inspiration for that, comes to them through social media). It adds up to people feeling they are able to judge the situation when in fact they are not. Not blaming social media here, it does more good than bad, but I do notice that this too is a symptom of it. These people would for instance never handle an animal, but seen it on social media in a different context and apply it too what they do in real life. Basically it's plain stupidity
