Killed For A Selfie: Baby Dolphin Dies After Being Passed Around By Tourists As They Posed For Photos With It On A Spanish Beach
When tourists in southern Spain discovered a baby dolphin that had lost its mother, they started taking selfies with the animal instead of calling someone to rescue it. According to Daily Mail, the workers arrived at the scene 15 minutes later, but the animal had already died from stress. They blasted the 'selfishness' of tourists who are 'obsessed' with taking photos: "Cetaceans are very susceptible to stress, and crowding round it to take photos and to touch it causes them a big shock which greatly accelerates cardio-respiratory failure, which is what happened."
It makes the blood boil in my veins. How despicable humans can be.

Tourists Destroying Popular Oregon Rock Formation
The so-called “duckbill” sandstone formation was one of Oregon’s icons, protected by a fence to keep away people because it was unstable. However, this didn’t stop some vandals from climbing over the fence and pushing and pulling on the rock formation. Eventually, they knocked the rock down. Allegedly, the group of people did this because one of their friends had broken their leg because of the “duckbill”. The famous landmark was also known as “Pedestal Rock” and “that Pacific Northwest rock.”
I hope they were charged with “damaged of a national icon” and given a huge fine!
Was their friend standing on the duckbill when they fell and broke their leg? I hope they were charged.
Can I please use an Afrikaans word to describe them? POEPHOL!! (it means a*****e) there is another word I can use but that is extremely rude. For all the south africans here, I think you know the one, right?
Ah ah ah! This makes me think of "Poop Hole" is a good word game that suits them! (In Belgium, we like humoristic expressions and puns) - Excuse me, I know it's a vulgar expression but here I could not not put it!)

why not just take a pic NEAR IT, in front of the fence?! 'cause that would make sense-but NOOOOO

Tourists Chase Peacocks, Rip Out Their Tail Feathers At Beijing Zoo
A Beijing wildlife park near the Great Wall became the scene of some serious animal cruelty. Chinese tourists were spotted chasing and catching peacocks, and then ripping out feathers from their tails. Some tourists tried to stop them but they were unsuccessful. The violent offenders did not stop until they scared away the last peacock.

The Ostional Wildlife Refuge in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, is one place where olive ridley sea turtles nest. Unfortunately for them, hundreds of tourists swarmed the beach and scared the turtles away, meaning a large number of them didn’t lay eggs. These tourists were angling for some good photos: some of them even stood on top of turtle nests, while others put their kids on top of the animals.
This beach should be fenced off at laying time until people can grow a brain and leave them alone.
If you where going into labour and loads of people stoped you from getting to hospital what would you do and how would you feel!!!
Well that clearly is the government fault for not closing the beach to tourists. Because people had not common sense now a days.

Load More Replies...Some and I mean some good news came from this. After this incident the Costa Rican government has planned to double security and restrict access to nesting beaches. Also thankfully many turtles returned at night when the tourists were gone to lay their eggs. The nesting season lines up with Costa Rica's rainy season, and the flooded Nosara River usually blocks all access to the beach. That year, however, El Niño caused lower rainfall than usual, which made it too easy for tourists to swarm the beach.

Tourists Break Into Eco Park And Strip Away All Its Lotus Flowers
Tourists picked all the lotus flowers in the Longqiao Cultural and Ecological Park which is located in Sichuan, China. The park was supposed to reopen soon, but had to stay closed after the tourists’ actions. Summer blossom season started in June and ever since then, Chinese tourists have been breaking into the park to pick the flowers. However, some tourists did more than that: they also went fishing by the stream and destroyed the park fences. Since March, the fences were mended five times so far. A park representative stated that they “cannot control the tourists.”
If pictures can be taken of them breaking in they can be arrested just the same...

Man Climbed Onto The Pedestal The Statue Sits Upon, Attempted To Take A Selfie And Knocked The Statue Over
One more victim of tourists who wanted to take selfies was the nearly 130-year-old Dom Sebastiao statue in Lisbon, Portugal. Two tourists thought they were doing a good deed when in fact they were dooming an animal. The pair found a bison calf near a road in Yellowstone National Park and put it into their car so it would be warm. This act sealed the baby bison’s fate: it was no longer clear where it came from and which bison was its mother, meaning it couldn’t be reunited with its herd. What’s more, it started approaching people and cars on the road, creating dangerous situations. The bison had to be euthanized because two tourists couldn’t leave wildlife alone like they should have.
This is like the people saving a "turtle" by tossing it into a nearby water source when it's really a tortoise that they just doomed to drowning..
Just so you know, that tortoise survived. Thank goodness.
Load More Replies...Sorry but it shouldn't have been euthanized. I am sure a sanctuary could have taken it in. The people meant well as they didn't know any better but the solution was not a good one to me.
This was my thought too. Either we don’t have the full story and there was something wrong with the bison or the people who euthanised the bison did it for ridiculous reasons and should also be held accountable. I’m sure there were other options besides death for this poor animal.

I don't know why they had to euthanize it....Couldn't they put it in a wildlife refuge???
It should have gone to a sanctuary!!! They didn't have to bloody euthanize it!!
right? I don't know the details of the situation, but it seems like there were more options besides putting young, healthy, and, apparently, not violent animal down..

CNN reported that authorities in Rome have slapped a 20,000 euros ($24,800) fine on a Russian tourist who carved his name into one of the city's most famous historic landmarks. The 42-year-old man was apprehended after a guard at the Colosseum saw him scratch the letter "K" in a section of brickwork. The graffiti was found on a ground floor section of the nearly-2,000 year-old structure where restoration work was taking place.

Yellowstone Hot Spring Turning Green Because Of Tourists Throwing In "Good Luck" Coins
A hot spring pool found in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, changed color from crystal blue to yellow-green because tourists kept on throwing coins and rocks into it. The pool is known as Morning Glory, and has recently been nicknamed “Fading Glory” due to how much it has changed. Tourists throw in coins and rocks because they hope that good luck will then follow them. The debris stuck in the pool’s vents has slowed down the water’s circulation, dropping the temperature and allowing the proliferation of bacteria that produce the unusual pigmentation.
I visited there last year. It’s horrible to know that people are destroying this beauty of nature

Jerk Tourists Chase Endangered Tibetan Antelopes For Photos, Get Fined
Seven people were fined for pursuing a herd of Tibetan antelopes with their cars. Driving two white SUVs, they trespassed into Selincuo National Nature Reserve in an attempt to take pictures of the animals. When the speeding cars got dangerously close to the antelopes, anonymous witnesses filmed and captured the illegal actions. After people started posting the footage on Weibo (China's equivalent of Twitter), it caused a huge backlash as netizens expressed anger over what they believed to be a careless and dangerous way to photograph the creatures. Later, Lhasa police made an official statement saying that the drivers had been detained and the cars they had hidden had been found. Eventually, the Forestry Department of the Tibet Autonomous Region published the results of the investigation, imposing a penalty of 15,000 yuan (2,257 US dollars) on each of the suspects. The reserve's caretakers responsible had their basic allowance suspended for three months and the local administrative departments were also blamed for the incident.
That's $22 000 AU. Hope the antelopes were okay. (EDIT: Oops. Yeah. Not $22 000.)

Tourists Destroy Beautiful Azalea Trees In Bloom In China: Some Even Use Branches For Barbecue
Spring symbolizes rebirth, but this doesn’t give anyone a license to destroy nature for their own pleasure. The Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in China always draws in tourists who want to enjoy the blooming azalea trees. However, not all tourists are happy with just looking. People Allegedly Destroying Stone Pillars At Hampi
After a few vandals were caught on camera destroying the pillars of the Vishnu temple at the UNESCO world heritage site in Hampi, India, the locals started demanding strict action against them. Roughly a week after the video surfaced, Karnataka police have arrested four people.
All of them confessed to the vandalism. "They were excited [about] seeing the monuments in Hampi," Ballari SP Arun Rangarajan said. "They claim to have toppled the pillar in sheer excitement. They had no idea how historically significant Hampi is."
"All four have been [receiving death threats] since the video went viral."
Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in east-central Karnataka, India. It became the centre of the Hindu Vijayanagara Empire capital in the 14th century. By 1500 CE, it was the world's second-largest medieval-era city (surpassed only by Beijing), attracting traders all the way from Persia and Portugal.
Hampi's ruins are spread over 4,100 hectares (16 sq mi) and UNESCO described it as an "austere, grandiose site" of more than 1,600 surviving remains of the last great Hindu kingdom in South India.

Tourist Spotted Burying Used Diaper In The Sand On Boracay Beach
A viral video of tourists burying a soiled diaper in the beach in the Philippines prompted local authorities to close the area for water quality tests. After determining that the water quality remained safe, the Boracay Interagency Task Force reopened the area later in the day.
"This is an unfortunate incident pero [but] we will not tolerate those who violate the law whether foreigner or local. Indonesian Tourists Vandalize Olmec Monumental Sculptures In Tabasco
Two tourists from Indonesia vandalized a grand total of 15 sculptures in the La Venta Museum and Park in Tabasco, Mexico. The pair sprayed liquid oil on the archaeological pieces, one of which was the giant Olmec head (pictured), also known as the “The Old Warrior.” What makes things even worse is the fact that the sculptures that were damaged by the tourists dated back to 1,000 BC.
Hm, I just wonder, what is the point in spraying oil on a monument if not a deliberate act of destruction?
The details come out better when the stone is wet. They probably used oil because it wouldn't dry out, giving them more time to take pictures. Maybe the staged some kind of photoshoot there. Even water can be a problem, too: Many prehistoric rock carvings in Europe, especially in Spain, were heavily damaged by limescale forming from too many tourist pouring water on them.

Tourists Damage Ancient Landform Where Dinosaurs Roamed
A group of Chinese tourists damaged a 200,000-year-old land formation in a geopark in Zhangye, in central China. They bragged about it on a video-sharing platform called Douyin. The footage (now deleted) shows two men and a woman (not including the person behind the camera) walking on red and yellow stripes of sand, a signature of the Danxia land formation. There was a text next to the original upload: "Good things must be shared twice: we went through the back door and didn’t have to pay for a ticket. This area looks even better."
"I destroyed a 6,000-year-old [formation]," a member of the group was heard saying.
According to Liang Xiaofeng, an assistant researcher at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the bottom layers of the Danxia landform date back to the Cretaceous period, about 40 million to 100 million years ago. "That’s the era from the show Dinosaur Corps Koseidon, when all the dinosaurs were active,” he told South China Morning Post. The sand layer damaged by the tourists was estimated to have been formed 200,000 to 400,000 years ago.
Local authorities have launched an investigation to find the tourists as soon as the video became public, and experts were called in to determine the damage. According to the government's statement, railings around the affected area which had not yet been opened to the public were also damaged. The city's government said it has set up measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
There's one important thing missing from all those pics. Have the idiots been punished in any way for their actions?
I don't know if dinosaurs disparition was good for the Earth but I'm sure humans disparition will be the best for the Earth. Climate change will kill all us but it'll (may) be to save the planet.
So you fools think this is something to be proud of? Destroying a 6000 yr old landform? God forbid that you ever procreate!
When people have the means to travel but lack of ethics and education to properly travel... You can see their destroying and selfish acts the moment they step outside their house.
Deliberate and then bragging about it - they knew what they were doing and did it why??? The world has become really bad, sick, full of uncaring idiots. . . maybe it is a good thing climate change may end the world as we know it. We definitely are longer taking care of anything - past, present, future.
Idk, maybe set some secret non- deathly electrocution measures... The hell is wrong with people?
Japanese Bamboo Forest ‘Cries’ After Tourists Vandalize Trees
A bamboo forest in Kyoto, Japan, started “crying” after inconsiderate tourists carved graffiti on the trees. The forest has been attracting tourists from all over the world with its breathtaking serenity, but at least 100 bamboo trees have been vandalized with English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese writings. While maintenance staff has managed to conceal the damages with some green tape, it was reported that the affected trees will eventually be cut down.
Oh wow, what idiots! Western people really have no respect and no moral!!!11! (If you don't get it, this is an ironic pointer to all the "Chinese people suck" comments. IDIOTS COME FROM EVERYWHERE. And if you don't understand this, you are an idiot yourself :) )
Yup - fools and vandals are everywhere. Shame we can't stick them all on one hard to damage rock to live on.
Load More Replies...Show them what else bamboo is good for! Cane their hides 'til they can't stand up!
Isnt taking a selfie the real way to say "I have been here"? Was that not destructive enough? Some people deserve to only see the plot lines of their backyard.
...you know that if you really need to do that you can do it on your house?
...they even scratched a f'ing HASHTAG into the bamboo! Couldn't that be used to track them down if they actually used the tag?
Tourists Allegedly Vandalize A Mosque In South Of Morocco
Local news website Tiznit37 reported that tourists who spent nearly a week in a resort called Boutbouqalt desecrated a mosque by leaving offensive insults and drawings on its walls. After this incident went viral, residents of Arbaa Ait Ahmed called the act “savagery,” demanding that the authorities intervene. The police were reported to have opened an investigation.
This is disgusting, vandalising any religion's holy places is so disrespectful
Considering every pics of the post, I don't think this kind of person know what respect means so, religious monuments, Archeological sites, pieces of art, natural sites, living creatures... it doesn't make any difference for them, they just spoil everything they can.
Load More Replies...This is so disrespectful. This building is extremely important to some people
Okay the stickman relieving himself is crass and vile, but scrawling PEACE on a monument to bronze-age barbarism is a VERY poignant political statement.
regardless of the religious aspect, what hope has mankind when morons walk the earth, a good reason for birth control
Vandalism of any kind is disrespectful! Find these slackers and levy high fines and jail time!
Tourists Doing Stupid Things At Yellowstone National Park
Why are there so many Chinese & Asians in the list, torturing animals & destroying nature? It as though they have utter disregard for the environment.
They don't know how to behave, they have no manners, no responsibility, no respect for anything. They are such a big problem that China threatens to withdraw their passports.
Load More Replies...I kinda wished that the bison would have charged at these disgusting people. everyone of them need to be in handcuffs.
I saw a photographer almost get trampled by a moose in Yellowstone cause they got too close trying to get that perfect shot. Dude dropped his camera and ran screaming. I laughed my a*s off!
Omg! Tourists are so stupid! Once, while living in Alaska, we were on a long fishing trip (400 miles of wilderness). On the way back to the city, we pulled over for a bathroom break, slung our rifles and headed into the woods (we were also scouting for fishing spots). When we got back to the road, this van had pulled over and this family was taking pictures of a moose that was grazing near the road. Not unusual, but then the dad said "I'm gonna pet it!" And he started toward the animal. We unslung our rifles and yelled at him to back away. He asked if we were going to shoot him. I said, "That's not a bad idea, but I'm more worried I'm gonna have to shoot the moose. You have no idea what those things are capable of." I told him if he insisted on irritating a full grown moose, please let us get to our car first. I had no desire to die because of his stupidity.
You really should have put him out of humanity's misery
Load More Replies...When communism took over in Communist China, all customs and forms of respect for things, history and surroundings were done away with as it was deemed old fashioned and in some cases, paying homage to feudal customs. Any form of respect for history was deemed an Enemy of The State. So, for decades Communist China's people were not taught manners, how to behave or respect for fellow human beings, animals or their surroundings. Because of trade and commerce with the west they are now 'in the money' and the rest of the world was suddenly open to them. So now these 'uncultured' people with lots of money to spend travel to destinations which were previously denied to them. Being a Chinese person myself, having been born and brought up in a 'western society', I get terribly angry and ashamed when I see this kind of behaviour being perpetrated by 'my kind'. I hope this sheds a little light on the situation.
Again I really don’t care if you get charged by a ticked off, bison, elk, or bear. Just in case you don’t get this it’s not a PETTING ZOO. They are WILD ANIMALS. You get what you deserve.
If a tourist did this or any of these things in front of me..I'd call the cops and just hope the Bison tramples them before the cops gets there. Then I'd be a witness for the park for any tourist that thinks he/she has grounds to sue.
A friend and I recently took a road trip in our beloved Scotland. We'd intentionally gone to view the wild stags and deer that we're lucky enough to have here. We came across a grazing herd, that although wild, were happy enough to come and investigate; Sadly a coach of tourists noticed this, and also stopped - shouting, waving (two small children even chased them?!) and trying to feed them SHORTBREAD. Please, if you're visiting Scotland, have some respect for our wildlife <3
Whatever the fines are, they are too low. Seems to me that the governments should take drastic measures to stop the vandalizing of historic places and nature reserve. Perhaps jail sentences up to 25 years will make people think before they destroy.
Jailing / fining don't really work, They come out worse. I would like to see enforced work at these places. Fixing the fences, cleaning, doing the things that help protect flora and fauna.

Same... I don't understand how someone can have such an utter disregard for living beings and historic monuments
Load More Replies...I'm Chinese but generalization is not exactly wrong. By the percentage, security all over the world are always up and more wary of Chinese tourists and thanks to these articles, they should be. It will never hurt to be extra careful and particular because would you actually risk destroying another 1000 year old antique over annoying several Chinese tourists? No. So, no, being racist isn't good, but it's very proper to be particularly careful of people because culture defines attitude and attitude, defines conduct. If you know that one's culture teaches no care of nature, then you know how to counter is and be extremely careful over people who are taught so.
Load More Replies...I understand that these acts are horrible and the people should be condemned. Unfortunately, the people in the comments calling Chinese people "disgusting" and saying all sorts of things attacking an entire population of over 1 billion people should not be celebrated. There are plenty of examples of other tourists behaving badly. We should focus on those that have committed the acts and not attack an entire population. Please remain respectful.
I'm just gonna upvote you because I have no idea why you were downvoted
Load More Replies...I agreed with what this post was trying to say, but all that anyone cared about was, calling out the fact that most of these people were Asian. Yes I agree with that fact, but there is no need to generalize people. 😔
