I’ve been drawing since I was a little kid, and started taking it seriously as a career in college. I’ve always drawn a lot, but 4 years ago I decided to do the Inktober challenge on Instagram. After it finished, I decided I was going to keep drawing every day. Before that, if I was feeling depressed or even just stagnant or lazy, I would go days or weeks without drawing and it felt like if I didn’t push myself, I would stop caring enough about it.
Now I draw and post something new on Instagram everyday. Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s a pain, like when I forget right before I go out for an evening with friends, or when I’m on vacation and don’t want to stop what I’m doing.
It’s made me a better artist and pushed me to try new things. It’s part of my daily routine now, and I don’t think I’d know how to stop.
