My fiance (22m) and I (30f) have been together for a year, but have known and been friends for 3. He was the one that actually the one who asked me to go on a date with him and eventually to be his girlfriend. Recently a girl he used to be friends with came back into the picture and she has made it a point to tell our mutual friends that our age makes it uncomfortable and that she doesn't know how to feel about me. This usually wouldn't bother me, but because my friends will tell me that she's saying all this things and it causes me to think. Our friends have never seen our age difference as an issue, but maybe I'm just over thinking and being insecure....

If you’re happy, don’t give it another thought. Other people will always have opinions but they’re theirs and not yours. 8 years isn’t a huge difference and as you get older it will mater less and less, if at all. Be happy and true to yourselves

Not at all as long as you are both happy and get along. My sister was together with a man 10 years younger than her for 4 years before they got married and are very happy. It only matters if it causes problems between you.
