They benefit from high altitude, a culture which values good runners and an unusually high percentage of their muscle mass is posture muscle (endurance) rather than twitch (strength). Funnily on the west coast of Africa (the ultimate origin of many Jamaicans) the twitch/posture ratio is reversed, which makes for very good sprinters and other sports requiring explosive power.

IQ tests are flawed, though. They only adapt to one type of affinities. They're inventing various kinds of IQ tests and IQ groups because of that. And exploring various kinds of ways to measure intelligence.

Australia's diameter is 600km wider than the moon's. The moon sits at 3400km in diameter, while Australia's diameter from east to west is almost 4000km.

A good stance, but difficult to execute due to pressure from the school and classmates, I would assume.

Well that may be, plus cacao’s theobromine (an alkaloid similar to caffeine), but who the hell drinks three cups of pure dark chocolate a day anyway?

He's still celebrated in Croatia and kids get sweets on his day. They also get presents for Christmas too.

Not sure when it was last updated but SavetheRhino says there's between 5,366 to 5,627 Black Rhinos left. And between 17,212 to 18,915 white rhinos... I thought recently though, there was one kind of Rhino where they were 'functionally extinct' as there was only a male left or something... could've sworn it was the black or white rhino but maybe not.

Evolution is outsmarting poachers. More and more rhinos are being born without a horn, negating the reason for the bastards to slaughter them

Given that the horns aren’t ivory (I think it’s matted hair, but I read this so long ago I’m no longer certain), rhinos can withstand it being cut off, so long as it’s not cut at the very bottom where it would bleed. But it’s not likely they’d stand for it, so they’re killed. Most of the horn is used for kris handles.

Yup - White rhinos were purportedly called "White" because of a bad translation. The "White" is derived from "wijd" - meaning wide. The white rhino's mouth is wide and flat - but allegedly early English Settlers heard the word, thought they heard "White" and... ta-da... the Black Rhino has a pointy mouth shape.

And neither are white nor black. White rhinos have wide muzzles, black ones have more pointy muzzles.

'White' was a mistranslation. Comes from Afrikaans word meaning 'wide'... as in that species top lip is a bit wider....

The names black and white rhino come from a misunderstanding of the locals when they were first named to outsiders. The white rhino was called the "wide" mouth rhino, but it was heard by westerners as "white", and the name stuck. The difference between the two is that the white rhino has a wide flat top lip whereas the black rhinos have a pointed top lip.

Yes they have some at Fossil Rim a wildlife preserve in northern Texas. If you get a chance to go there it's a really fantastic experience.

A) thank you for great travel advice! B) as an animal, I'd be leery of moving in someplace called Fossil Rim. Just sayin'.

I heard that the White rhino was originally called the WIDE rhino because its mouth/muzzle was wider than the other species and it was misheard/mistranslated as White, resulting in the other species being called Black

If Prince the artist had been made a prince in a tribe, would his title then be “Prince Prince”?
