They benefit from high altitude, a culture which values good runners and an unusually high percentage of their muscle mass is posture muscle (endurance) rather than twitch (strength). Funnily on the west coast of Africa (the ultimate origin of many Jamaicans) the twitch/posture ratio is reversed, which makes for very good sprinters and other sports requiring explosive power.
Australia's diameter is 600km wider than the moon's. The moon sits at 3400km in diameter, while Australia's diameter from east to west is almost 4000km.
I once saw a document about sloths. One of them fell in the water, where an aligator was. But He manage to swim away *mindblow*!!!!
In Finland we used to watch a Disney cartoon on Christmas Eve too! At least when I was a kid, don't know about kids today
It is the Disney Xmas special 'From All of Us to All of You' from 1958. It is shown in Finland and many other countries in every Xmas Eve. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_All_of_Us_to_All_of_You
Load More Replies...That's really curious, I wonder how that started? Reminds me of how Santa wore white until coca cola dressed him in red and white
In Denmark we also have Disney Christmas Show, where they show the same Classics EVERY year. Im 36 and it has always been a thing in my lifetime
Load More Replies...I’m swedish and this is true. Here it is nearly as traditional as christmas trees.
Sweden here, can really confirm! No happy christmas without "Donald and hos friends", the original 40+year old version. All attemts from state television to cut it or remove part cause tears and riots.
It's not the original version we watch here in Sweden. Disney chose to edit out a few scenes from "Santa's workshop" a couple of years ago and while people for some (to me unimaginable) reason protested Disney did it anyway. The only changes we have had any impact on is when SVT has tried to stop showing the program.
Load More Replies...Over here it's The Snowman with that walking in the air song.
American here and on Christmas Day they show “a Christmas story” back to back for 24 hours on at least 2 channels. Don’t shoot your eye out.
My brother just watches Micky mouse Christmas special every year (I'm English)
Germany watches some crazy 1920s drunk waiter film and millions of the rest of us watch Die Hard.
In USA we watch "It's A Wonderful Life" which was a flop when it was first released.
As a soon to be 30 year old, me my Mother, my 27 year old brother, and uncle we watched it. No children at all.. Before gramps were there to, and all of US had separete favorit parts :D
Load More Replies...Better than watching the Star Wars special with Chewbacca's wife
Nope, not anymore. It was a X-mas tradition way back when there was not much to see on the TV.

Load More Replies...Oh I think the Roman days one is gone. Or maybe I didn't look properly lol now I'm gna check again :D
In other words, unlike modern times where one day is 24 hours, a winter day would require fewer hours from beginning to end than a summer day. This is because a day started at dawn and ended at dusk
